It was like when they kept saying 'crisis club' like someone had called them that. I have only ever seen Partridge and Akers call them crisis club.

I know I've said its a poor Man Utd squad compared to past Man Utd squads. And I largely stand by that (bar that one year you had Kleberson and Djembax2 etc).
I don't recall saying you couldn't win the league. At the start of the season I thought Chelsea would do it though.

First pretty much everyone didnt say anything on the matter, mayb 5 out of 3000 ppl had an opinion.
Second the prevailing view was that United in comparision with their own teams from years gone by not on the same level.
The league is alot poorer at the top end in my view.

The main point is saying United arent the same as 2008, 1999 doesnt mean mocking them or desribing them as a laughing stock.
When was United ever a laughing stock, in preseason they beat Chelsea and then went unbeaten for ages...
I totally agree with your point (and everyone else's point) that compared to previous United squads they aren't as good.
What I do disagree with though is you saying that hardly anyone made comments about United being poor and won't win anything this year. There were comments pretty much on a daily basis (particularly after an away draw) where people would take the p*ss.
And I'm talking much earlier as well before the season started, and the season before.
i think the problem is the people who did say it are the likes of chill pill so it maybe seems more memorable than it actually was. weren't chelsea pretty much top all season even when struggling? again take it as a compliment, like with rooney it was (in my case at least) you can do better because i think you are better than what you were showing
