Carlos Tevez is rated as 50:50 for a return to action in the FA Cup Final according to reports surfacing this morning.

The striker’s hamstring tear is currently being assessed by Argentina’s team Doctor in Milan and is due to return to Eastlands to start his rehabilitation although, as yet, no date has been set for Tevez’s arrival back in Manchester. Today’s articles suggest that Roberto Mancini is due to consult his medical staff to receive an update on the situation and to make a decision on whether Tevez should make his return from Italy this week.

The latest reports appear to confirm the initial prognosis that had estimated a four-week absence for Tevez; despite the player’s own desire to play in the final, it’s clear that he is set to struggle to make the Wembley date. Realistically then, with speculation also surrounding his future at the club, Tevez may have made his last appearance for City.

For Fantasy Managers the absence of Tevez could prove significant – particularly when you begin to assess City’s end of season run-in and the prospect presented by Mario Balotelli.

City face a tricky trip to Ewood this weekend, but follow that with a run of three home matches in four with West Ham, Tottenham and Stoke all visiting Eastlands. The absence of Tevez would seem likely to cement a starting role for Balotelli – a realistic consideration up front for a Fantasy Premier League fee of 7.9. The young Italian is a far from a reliable prospect given his tendency to attract controversy and bookings but, with Edin Dzeko struggling to settle in the Premier League, Mancini’s faith in Balotelli to lead his attack looks solid.

Balotelli has scored 6 goals in 10 Premier League starts with a single assist and 6 FPL Bonus Points to his name. With 5 appearances from the bench, the striker has picked up 5 yellow cards and a red in his first season in the league. Always keen to be involved from set-plays, Balotelli would also seem likely to be granted penalty-taking duties with Tevez out of the side having already converted from the spot this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

The ref doing the old farm derby tomorrow night has already shown 8 red cards this season. I'd get your cash on another one if the odds are decent.

An earlier post got me thinking how costly the points hits are over a season. I've worked out that I've spunked away a nice round 100 points in hits. Please impress me with your hits totals guys 😉 Any fellow centurions?

you can work it out just by the number of transfers made. For example, I've made 55 transfers this season. Given that you get one free transfer a week and we are in GW33, though you only count up to GW32, as transfers this week won't count until next gameweek 34. Also deduct two from the 32 GWs that count so far, for the Wildcards (if you've played both), leaving you with 30. The difference between 55 and 30, is the number of actual hits you have taken so far this season. Mine is 25, so times four equals 100 points.

Just looking at Bale, although it might be madness to have both VDV and Bale for their double and West Brom, he is owned by 27%, is it safe to say about 25% of that figure are no longer actively playing the game you think? Which leads on to another question, how many people have stopped bothering there arses to play? Which leads me on to my final question, how many people do you know that say "too much effort involved, couldn't be arsed" - and think to yourself "well I am an addict, but it only takes 1 minute to log on and make a change".

didn't he/she make about 1,000 transfers in protest at her/his terrible score?

Mental! It was around that time that I was 300,000 odd in the world. Now I skirt the mediocrity of 20,000th and feel far more chipper. I hope Katie plays properly next year. He/she might end up doing ok by wk 38.

i can't work him out. you see replays of his attacks and he looks like he's stumbling all over the place, with almost no control of the ball yet he's actually racing past players somehow in full control of the ball. he has the most shots on target in the league in the last 6 gameweeks so i fear he's about to explode. 9.2 is a decent wad of cash so if i'm not 100% convinced it would probably make sense to go for the cheaper carroll who i'm also not convinced by yet

I can't think of someone off the top of my head but theirs always players who are like lucky dribblers where they never look in control of the ball but don't ever seem to lose it. It's a decent amount of cash and currently I reckon Carroll is the better bet if u don't wanna splash the cash.

That's how he plays, it's intentional. He scored a lot of goals for us playing like that and almost as many assists as goals, but I should note he also took penalties and almost all the free kicks. He took corners too and got some assists from those, hell, if he wanted to he could have been on goal kicks. If I wanted a liverpool striker, I'd probably go for Carroll now though due to the price difference and because Suarez goes for the assist quite often too, so Carroll could profit from his work.

Jack Robinson played for Liverpool recently against Arsenal but it wasn't his debut in the premier league. Which team did he have a short cameo appearance against in a previous season?

    Adam or Theo -> Dempsey?

I'm away tomorrow so will probably have to do this tonight. I don't like Adam due to form and fitness and whilst Arsenal's fixtures aren't the greatest they're not that bad. I'm leaning towards Adam which leaves me 0.0 in the bank.

    Thanx.

Lampard big score is probably most likely to repeat itself out of all these scenarios.

I could be wrong but I don't see a lot of goals at The Lane tonight. Think Chelsea have the bit between their teeth now and appear to be hitting some form again.

Arsenal probably deliver up another choke job, which will vex me even more than Eboué's awfully stupid challenge on Sunday afternoon!

Very tough game to predict, not going to be putting my money on it, same applies to spurs/arsenal i think..

Did you see the PP special, Barca, arsenal & chelsea to win, 5/1.. not too bad but i wont be putting my money near it..
