The gameweek draws to a close at the Cottage tonight as Fulham play host to a Bolton side surely flowing with confidence following the late 2-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday. The Trotters have suffered a major blow when it comes to their starting lineup however, with the hottest of shots Daniel Sturridge failing to overcome an ankle knock suffered late on against the Gunners. He misses out, disappointing many a Fantasy Manager in the process.

There’s also a let-down in the Fulham lineup as Mark Hughes puts out an unchanged side; Bobby Zamora is once again warming the bench then, apparently suffering from a back problem. His owners will hope to see him emerge at some point though, and perhaps even earn an assist or two that qualifies for some points this time.

With the small matter of the Real vs Barcelona Champions League clash rumbling on in Spain, this post can be used to soak up all your floodlit comments, with real-time chat going on in the Dugout Discussion as per usual.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Mignolet or Foster in goal this week.
I have Luiz, Baines, Huth at the back with Bardsley and Walker on bench.
Reckon if I play Foster I'll draft Bardsley in for Huth as Blackpool always score at home but Huth always a goal and bonus threat. Reckon Sunderland could keep clean sheet but don't want to double up on them.

I've caught up to about 30ish points on the leaders of the two mini leagues I'm in and I have a good team for next GW...all 11 at home!

    Reina
    RJ Bardsley Luiz
    Walcott Adam Yaya Lamps
    Suarez RVP Drogs

    Foster Huth Dempsey Coleman

Should I risk putting in Huth or Coleman for one of my home defenders? Huth and Coleman could well score against Blackpool and Wigan. Yay or nay?

I thought he was good to have in but bad to captain! Shows what i know. He'd scored 2 in 7 and had dropped deeper. To predict him scoring 2 in a week was out their based on that information.

So glad I had Hangeland in to negates all the Dempsey points.

Still managed to drop with 77(-4) this week, however small the red arrow was. It's a shame I couldn't break my run of two greens one red, rinse and repeat, but if the red had to come glad I've managed to fall less than 30 🙂

Only my first full season, looking back on it I'll think around 20k is alright but it could have been so much better. Not going with gut instinct has kicked me in the balls a million times this season, I've just always gone with the supposedly 'safe' options.

I hope this Silva wagon crashes.

Can't see all the love for him. Don't get me wrong, he's excellent but not a good FPL option. Yaya or AJ for me, I'd rather Kuyt to Silva.

For a cheap midfielder playing such an advanced role for a team with such good fixtures, he's hard to ignore. I reckon he'll be rested, has looked absolutely b****x*d lately, probably explains the lack of shots and goalscoring chances.

Red Arrow but then it is to be suspected when you captain a player like Bobby Z!!!

At least I recovered the 15 point lead on my rival and now sit 3 points ahead. This season has been all over the place. FCKING GET IT....

I'll probably give it up next week.

Change of plans with what to do though. So may options. Silva or Yaya in like everyone else is the question. Could get them both in but that would mean getting rid of Walters just a week after I got him in.

Agreed. Barca barely created a chance worthy of the name until Pepe was wrongly sent off.

Mourinho's tactics were clearly to contain Barca for the first 60/70 minutes, then to try to score with their attacking talent off the bench as Barca typically tired. They couldn't do that once Pepe got sent off.

indeed. you could actually see mouinhos tactics were for real to play long passes qand run the shit off the little rancid gnomes, then catch them when they tired as everyeone knows they do.

Barcelona's approach in the first half was not fully attack minded. I don't know if you realized, but Alves and Puyol didn't make more than 3 overlapping runs. They stayed back the entire time. That countered Mourinho's counter-attack football, they couldn't even make a note.

I don't doubt that Barca weren't particularly ambitious in the first half, and you're right - the full backs didn't make nearly as many overlapping runs as they would in normal circumstances. Neither side really looked like scoring until the sending off.

What would have happened had Pepe not been sent off is clearly conjecture, I just think that with Kaka, Higuain and Benzema all on the bench, Real could have had a proper go at Barca in the latter stages, as the Barca squad is showing signs of fatigue - due to Pep's insistence on a relatively small playing squad - and with their bench being vastly inferior to Real's.

Right. Who knows what would have happened if there wasn't a card..and coming into game today, I knew full well that Madrid had a really good chance because of the two points you brought up, i.e. fatigue & an inferior bench. I think Mourinho needs to take some responsibility for some questionable tactics. He didn't have to go toe to toe with barca (they'd lose), but why play like that for 60 minutes?

          "robbed like never before".

I agree that Busquets and Alves embellish way too often and I absolutely despise that. Pedro did it today as well, and that is not like him.

However, at home, Madrid starts with 7 defensive minded outfielders. Did they even give themselves a chance to win?

my friends, i am spanish and today i was at the stadium..

was i happy with mourinhos tactics...no , not at all.

could they have worked? yes indeed.

the fact of the matter is that in the lst 3 matches vs barsa madrid have had 3 red cards... and in the last 3 semi finals barsa have robbed the opposite team, chelsea inter (mottas red card) and now today.

not to mention the atrocity tht happed to RVP at the nou.

i see this week in and week out in la liga, year in and yer out in CL, and no one says nothing, they just let it slide and praise their "great" football.

Were they supposed to attack instead? They tried in November, look how that worked out.

Mourinho was right with his tactics, but not many see it that way. Bad decision for a red card but I can actually see where the ref is coming from, high foot and it looked like he followed through at the time.

dude, first of the ref is told to give a red card by the assistant, he actually said it was a foul on pepe!!

second of all, wednesday in copa del rey, busquets did that same tackle, except he got alonso clean on the knee, and did not even receive a yellow.

i do agree with the first comment, u cant really dispute barsa with possesion.
