The rise and shiners up and at ’em early are rewarded with another Dugout Discussion built around a triple-header of televised action for the second week in a row – and it’s a big one.
Another early West Midlands derby starts us off with Wolves playing host to West Brom and Mick McCarthy looking to capitalise on the lack of points picked up by his relegation rivals yesterday. Following that, a potter across to Stoke will then see Arsenal facing off against Tony Pulis’ men in our mid-afternoon kick-off
Then we head north to close out with what could prove to be the biggest game of the season. Manchester United play host to Chelsea and a win for United will all but guarantee a 19th title for Fergie’s men while if the Blues can pull the rug from under them then they’ll steal first place and leave a race for the title in the final two gameweeks like to come down to goal difference.
Line-ups from our noon kick-off after the break…
Wolves XI: Hennessey, Foley, Craddock, Mancienne, Elokobi, Guedioura, Henry, O’Hara, Hunt, Ward, Fletcher.
West Brom XI: Carson, Jara, Meite, Olsson, Shorey, Tchoyi, Morrison, Mulumbu, Thomas, Cox, Odemwingie.
The visitors bring in Somen Tchoyi for the suspended Paul Scharner while Jerome Thomas is back to full fitness ousting Carlos Vela to the bench. The home side also make a couple of changes from their last game as Matt Jarvis is dropped to the bench in favour of Stephen Hunt (“[he’s] bursting to play – I think he’s got a goal in him today” – Mick McCarthy) and Adlene Guedioura takes up Richard Stearman’s spot.
The Dugout Discussion will be with us through all this action until the bonus points get handed down and we get our jerking our knees.
