Double gameweek 36 comes to an end tonight, with a potentially decisive game in the chase for that all-important fourth spot. Manchester City host Tottenham Hotspur knowing that a win will see them qualify for the Champion’s League for the first time. For Spurs only a win will do if they hope to mount a realistic challenge in the closing league fixtures.

The Dugout Discussion chatroom is open and the team news is in…

Man City XI: Hart, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Zabaleta, Milner, De Jong, Toure Yaya, Adam Johnson, Silva, Dzeko

Spurs XI: Cudicini, Corluka, Dawson, Gallas, Rose, Lennon, Palacios, Sandro, Modric, Van der Vaart, Crouch

The home side drop Fantasy favourite Aleksandar Kolarov, who takes his place on the bench alongside Mario Balotelli and the returning Carlos Tevez. Filling that left-back slot is Pablo Zabaleta, meaning that there’s a place in the side for Micah Richards.

There’s also changes aplenty for the visitors, as recently calamitous ‘keeper Heurelho Gomes is left out, with a “back injury” being cited as the reason. Charlie Adam is the reason Gareth Bale misses out, opening a space for Wilson Palacios in a formation-altered Spurs side, which promotes the hugely popular Rafael van der Vaart up behind Peter Crouch.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

I'd list his 'normal' stats, but 'abysmal' doesn't adequately describe them.

Fair play to you for the gamble, JP ... but last DGW you enjoyed crowing about the stupidity and luck involved in a Dempsey (C) due to his form/stats ... and that makes the Crouch choice ... ?

Ouch. Guess he still has some time for redemption ...

There was at least *some* logic to it. I wanted to create funds for the unlikely scenario where Chelsea beat United, and then needed to hammer Newcastle - and so I wanted Drogba + Malouda. To create the funds I decided to downgrade Suarez. Fortunately all the others I considered - Ba and Sturridge mainly - have done equally badly this week.

But yeah, far from my proudest FPL moment!

No trolling or stalking intended, JP ... just some light banter 🙂

See your strategy there; and, as I said, it would be just like Mancini to park the bus, give Tot 25 shots on goal, Crouch walks away with 1 goal, one assist, and my credibility ...

The *true* scathing attacks begin after time expires 😛

krankjar doesn't deserve a chance. all he does when he gets a game is score the winner 😉

True. We should probably save him in case we get the equaliser and need a late winner.

We just don't have anyone playing up front. Crouch is beyond a joke, VDV too deep. No point putting crosses into that kind of defence with no-one in there.

Yup, even when we do manage to get a decent cross in (which is by no means all of the time) there is no one there. Crouch is getting double-teamed a lot of the time so really need someone else in there winning headers or better still let's stop trying to get it to him every time and get some lower balls into the box for VDV/Modric to try and get on the end of.

I do really like Sandro though. He's starting to look like the real deal.

Agreed. I also like the fact that he thinks he can score from 30 yards all the time... as long as he doesn't keep getting too far forward of course 🙂

Silva or Modric are the BP darlings. Gutted now that I got VDV and captained him, I blame Mark for pressurising me into it. 'you'll be sorry if you don't get him'

From exactly the same position as when he scored the winner last season, how ironic.

They can't possibly keep a clean sheet, awful defending, half asleep. It's such a key game this, the atmosphere is lacking and there is little left in both teams after a long season.
