A mere two Fantasy Premier League gameweeks remain and it truly is do or die time for points accumulation – perhaps you need to cement your lead ala United and City, or maybe you’re making a last gasp Kenny Dalglish surge. With much left to play for, it’s two of the game’s big cheeses who are storming away in this week’s Captain’s Poll. It appears that reliability, rather than risk, is the general consensus. With Fantasy Managers placing a safe wager instead or punting on a late outsider…

It is Frank Lampard who currently tops our charts – with just under a quarter of the vote. The Chelsea skipper is in rampant form, fetching 4 goals and 6 bonus points in his last 5 Premier League outings, although it is too little too late as far as their title chances are concerned. Carlo Ancelotti’s men face Newcastle this weekend and you would expect some goals against a creaky back four. This will therefore be the reasoning behind Didier Drogba’s inclusion in fourth place in our table with 6%. The Ivorian has scored just 1 goal in 6, but he makes up for this with 5 assists and 7 bonus points.

The second of our heavyweights, just behind Lampard by a handful of votes, is Robin Van Persie who faces an Aston Villa defence that have kept just 1 clean-sheet in 13 fixtures. The Dutch striker has an incredible record of 16 goals in his last 15 Premier League games. In the same period he has also notched up a remarkable 24 Bonus Points. As Arsenal’s form has buckled, RVP has steadily continued to rake home the FPL royalties – something which shines through in the fact no other Arsenal player makes the top 20 in the poll.

Luis Suarez pops up in the third spot, followed by Dirk Kuyt in eighth. Liverpool currently sit just 2 points above Spurs in fifth in the Premier League and, with form on their side, you would expect the Reds to have the advantage over Redknapp’s boys as the two sides meet each other at Anfield. At the time of writing, only Rafael Van der Vaart from the Tottenham contingent has clocked up any votes – a paltry 1%.

Elsewhere in the ranks, Manchester United’s in-from pair Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez hold 5% and 4% respectively. You would expect them to have received slightly more but, with the title all but guaranteed and one eye on the Champions League, the likes of Dimitar Berbatov and Michael Owen could be factors in the United line-up. With West Ham at home and 3 goals in 4, Wigan’s Charles N’Zogbia has plenty of potential and 6% of you agree.

Whoever you feel holds the most Fantasy potential in this penultimate gameweek, be sure to cast your vote on the front page and join in on the gab below this article.

johnfinlay John swears he'll deliver unbiased Fantasy Premier League tips and news...until Leeds get promoted.

Guys need a bit of advice on my team:

    Foster (Begovic)
    Hughes Kolorov Luiz (Walker) (Kelly)
    Kuyt Adam Lampard Silva VdV
    RvP Odemwingie (Carroll)

    3.3M in the bank

Was wondering what you guys think would be the best transfer option is?

    1) Kelly to ??

Was thinking to get rid of Kelly and then be able to have 5 playing defenders just in case Luiz and Kolorov don’t play? If so, who should I bring in for the last two games?

    Or

    2) VDV to N’Zogbia

Should I just make an attacking transfer and sub Carroll and maybe transfer him for another forward next week?

    Or

    3) Carroll to Suarez

    Or

    4) Make no transfer and save it for next week?

I won't do Carroll->Suarez as Carroll might play this week.3 looks the best option but I'd change Silva rather than VdV for Zog.Also,if you are ready for a hit,you can do Luiz->Baines if you have the funds as you have only two definitely starting defenders.

Silva to N'Zogbia, if the latter is fit. Play Carroll and Kuyt, which is what I'm doing, barring press conference news. That was you'd be very unlucky to be burned by Suarez.

Repost from yesterday.Need some opinions please. Here's my team:

    Al-Habsi,
    Jiranek,Djourou,Luiz,
    VdV,Silva,Lampard(C),Adam,
    Odemwingie,RVP,Drogba.(0.2 in bank,1 free transfer)
    Subs: Foster,Coleman,Barton,Simpson.

Which is the best transfer option?:

    A) Silva->Maxi/N’Zogbia for free.

    B) Silva->Kuyt,Luiz->Flanagan/Cahill for -4,if Luiz is to be benched against NU.

    C) Silva->N’Zogbia/Maxi,Luiz->Baines -4.

    D) Silva->N’Zogbia,VdV->Kuyt/Maxi -4.

    Thoughts?Cheers.

Jimski - I am keeping Silva on the bench (1st subs)

Stevev - Yep, different strategy when you lead vs when you chase. But I have always felt it better not to bother about the leader. Just do the transfers which you think will get more pts. Diffential does not really work much, unless its the last 2 weeks and you have no other option but to throw everything to it.

it's a tricky one - I mean when the points gap was nearer I was making those moves, but transfers like Lampard in for me ended up doing the trick and then when I got a little further ahead I was thinking along the lines that I was chasing a lead and ended up extending it further.

That podcast was the first I've listened too. I liked it and think it's a great idea but I have a few suggestions:-

Research suggests people don't concentrate for more than 30 minutes in a passive lecture environment(where you're just listening).

It felt as though it was 2 lads chatting in a pub, you should segment the show radio style. Something like 'strikers', then a relevant chatter, 'value this week' etc. The content was scattered I went back and forth a couple of times.

I liked it as well. I was listening to it this morning walking the dog near Glastonbury Tor, nodding in agreement with Granville about Kolorov. Sometimes the stats do lie.

I think the two lads chatting down the pub element is what makes it listenable and there are regular segments such as fantasy island, granville's moans and a preview of all the matches that tend to be in the same places.

There is perhaps more scope to include elements of the website
...some teaser information about the opta stats available on the members section for example. Be good publicity for members and be good to actually hear why it is that Kolorov is favoured. Would have made that debate more fun and informative.

the main stats I look at with Kolorov is 1 assist, 1 goal...be good to have heard exactly how many crosses he makes.

'2 lads chatting in a pub' is exactly what I like about it. Not after a lecture.
I find its broken up well with things like fantasy island, bandwagon and league updates.
Relaxed and just allowing the convo to flow is great..

I never said it should be a lecture. I don't have 40 minutes a week to waste when I may only want opinions on a specific thing that takes 5 minutes.

The website itself is designed this way, which is why it's so damn addictive!

Bale>N'Zogbia was a good move. You not tempted to do Silva>Kuyt/Malouda? I think it'd be better then!

Stupid question perhaps but quite a few people have recommended bringing Johnson in.

    Is this Glen or Roger?

think it's Glen. Think his assist vs. Fulham has got people excited.
Who you (c) this week IT?
Also if you had to pick one out of Adam or Nzog this week, who'd you plum for?

Haven't decided captaincy or transfers as yet.

There's obviously the boring Lamps/RVP selection and more often than not I play it safe. However I have an extremely strong urge to captain Odemwingie, that's where my (c) lies at the minute.

Transfer wise I am bringing N'Zog so I'll have both him and Adam but if I could only have one I'd rather have N'Zog this week.

I usually wait for the wisdom of the Scout Picks tonight before . No matter how many times Mark puts Kolarov in them, I'm not getting him back.

ha ha...i sadly fell for the Kolorov trap. Got him before WH...while my rival got Suarez that week instead. Perfect.
Problem with Adam is that my rival (10 points back) has him and i feel i need to cover him...that said he'll probably bring Nzog in as well...
Odem (C) could be a good shout...but i really dont think you can look past RvP or Lamps. Think Lamps myself at the moment

Why are we all getting rid of Silva? There's absolutely no guarantee that he'll rested, and if he isn't then he has a great chance of scoring well this week. With only two weeks left of the season, City don't need to rest anyone, especially considering they can still catch Arsenal in the 3rd, and if they did do so they'd avoid the possibility of playing a team like Bayern in the qualifying rounds for the Champions League next season.

I agree with what Jamsiep has said but he is a rotation risk. If you have a good bench option then yeah keep him but for having both Yaya and Silva is too risky IMO.

    Morning all,team as follows.

    Foster (Begovic)

    Djourou,Smalling,Carr, (Huth,Luiz)

Yaya, Young, Lampard, Adam, Van der Vaart

    RVP, Bent,(Zamora)

Thinking Young & Bent > Nzogbia & Suarez.

    Sound good?

    and bench Huth,Luiz,Zamora.

Defence is shocking but who's isnt this week?

Nzog this, Nzog that, Nzog front, Nzog back...all week!
So is there any room for me in that bandwagon?

Was thinking to save a transfer and play both yaya & silva, but could this be better idea?

    gw37 Silva => Nzog
    gw38 Adam => Nani + Drog/Rvp => Berbatov (-4)

    Anyone?

Different approach is to ask will Nzog get 4 point more than silva in next two games..?

I'm in crisis mode don't know what to do so any thoughts appreciated.

    His team:

    Hart
    Ivonovic / Zabaleta / Koscielny

    Dempsey / VDV / Nani / Kuyt

    Van P / Drogs / Pav

    Bench - Foster / Ferguson / Eardley / Foley

    My team:

    Foster

    Lolarov / Luiz / Carr

    Yaya / Adam / Kuyt / Lamps / VDV

    Roopig / Van P

    Bench - Hoilett / Coleman / Huth

I'm leading mini league by 48 points. I have 3 options

    1) N'zog for Yaya

    2) Drogba for Roopig

    3) both transfers for a hit

The second option would obviously narrow the differential gap between me and him.

Dunno about a cert but if Tevez is fit I don't see why he won't play. Whether that's with Balo or not is a different matter, but Mancini does like the 4-5-1
