Did you enter our cup competitions this year and get knocked out by a nobody before you could even get going? Is your mini-league all but tied up or desperately out of your reach? Are you languishing in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) doldrums and already dreaming of next season?

Don’t give up just yet, we’ve got one final gameweek of action to take in before Fantasy Football takes a summer vacation. This last week of action also affords Fantasy Managers one last shot at success, a chance for redemption, as the “Last Chance Saloon” opens up for another year and calls out for a victor.

The rules are simple: One gameweek, the highest score(*) wins…

One final chance for the victory lap is but a click away. If you think you can beat Mark, Granville, myself (not difficult) and all the many folks so far in the fray then the pride being a Fantasy Football Scout champion will be yours to keep forever. All for 90 minutes of Sunday afternoon toil. Quicker than a roast dinner.

This little end of season competition is a light-hearted and high-spirited affair, with pride the only prize on offer. Victory however, would be a timely boost and will send one Fantasy Manager into the summer break with bragging rights and heightened expectations for next season. So saddle up your best steed, the code for entry into this league is below.

  I wouldn't be surprised to see Sears, Hines, Spence, Collison, Tomkins and Da Costa all start on the final day - they are the future of the club and West Ham fans will want reassurance that the future is ok. I can't see Ba sticking with them in the Championship and the crowd won't take long to get on his back - particularly if this story has any truth in it.

  bench Hangeland at your peril and for god's sake man get Kolorov either onto that bench or out of your team.
  first rule of fantasy football - Kolorov is fantasy poison.
  
  You can ignore this advice however. In which case enjoy your 1-2 pts from Lolorov.
  
  Remember that Arsenal are pants at defending set pieces and what is Hangeland good at...scoring from set pieces.

    Plus foster over begovic anyday. Spurs are terrible at home to so called lowly teams and Stoke play Wigan with N'zog rampant and in need of victory. Foster also has a better track record of save pts.

        last bit of advice for next season. don't do so many transfers. Your rank is really poor, but your team above is excellent. I noticed you've made 73 transfers. Have a quick look at the top five teams overall and see how many transfers they've got. It ranges between 40 to 48. that indicates they plan ahead, make pts hits occasionally, when injuries are bad and there's adouble coming up. Other than that they keep with what they've got.

        Yeah I won't, if you look from about GW23 onwards, you can tell that's when I started to look at it properly. I will make a lot of transfers next season but nowhere near as many!

    Not sure of the latest on Bellamy, should be a last minute decision. I expect he'll start on the bench and then introduced later on. All three Cardiff-Reading games have been drawn this season, so it's guaranteed to be tight and someone like Bellamy off the bench for extra time or whatever might be the difference.

I think Ill be doing Luiz->Dawson this week. Boring, I know, but I dont feel the Berbatov love (when last did he get game time? Blackpool fighting for their lives) so I may just bench Rooney.

    I wouldn't bother with Dawson, just when you think they have an easy home game they always concede, Birmigham will be fighting for their lives too, I am almost considering a punt on Larsson for that reason.
    
    I would be more inclined to do Rooney OUT Berbatov/Odemwingie (If fit) or any striker chasing the golden boot, no value in defence this week for me.

In light of Berbatov fever…

- 22 goals in 31 starts in all competitions.
- 20 goals and 3 assists in 23 league starts.
- Only 1 of his 21 league goals came when he came on as a substitute (1-0 v Bolton on 19/03/2011).
- 2118 minutes on the pitch in the EPL this year so he scored a goal every 101 minutes on average.
- 15 of his league goals came in 5 league games (5 against Blackburn, 3 against Liverpool, 3 against Birmingham, 2 against Blackpool and 2 against Sunderland). That means in the 23 games he started he scored in 10 of those games.
- Therefore he scored in 43% of the matches he stated in the league this season. Pretty decent but conversely he isn’t much of an impact sub. He came on as a sub 10 times in the league this season and scored only once (1-0 v Bolton). Chicharito came on as a sub 12 times in the league and scored 5 goals (0-2 v Wigan, 1-2 v West Brom, 2-3 v Blackpool, 3-1 v Liverpool and 2-4 v West Ham). Hernandez also came off the bench away to Valencia in the CL and Chelsea in the Charity Shield and scored a goal in both games. He’s definitely earned the tag of the new Ole!

        Yeah I did zamora. Up there with one of my worst transfers of season, if not THE worst. On the flip side I (C) lamps away to blackpool and that was one of the highlights of the season.

  Well given that djourou, luiz and coleman might not play I think walker and carr are first names down. Just monitor team news for the other choice. I'm hoping that luiz will get a run out with chelsea having sewn 2nd place up but hard to see who he'd replace.

Kaka to Chelsea rumours continuing. First there was that stuff posted on twitter by his mother, now this from KP:

"Hope I'm not being a snitch.. BUT, I had dinner a couple tables away from KAKA last night.. Are we gonna see the great man CFC?? Hmmm.."

My defense is also in crisis

Coleman, Evra, Luiz, Djouou , Williamson

Only Coleman played at the weekend. Is it really worth me using a transfer on a defender with one week left though, or would i be better getting an attacker in. I have Silva, Hernandez and Malouda who all might not play int he last week i think.

  Highs have been lamp(c) away and when I captained rooney at home to villa. Lows have to be bringing zamora in for the dgw and more frustratingly drunkenly taking adam out of my team 2 weeks ago for walcott...schoolboy!

    Yeah next season I'm doing everything I can not to kneejerk and use my wildcard early. When I look back the players I brought in were all badnwagons in themselves who I was trying to get rid of a few weeks later

        I've tended to stick with one or two captains for periods. At the mo its either Lamps or RVP. Wish I'd captained Adam more times tho'....that would have been the best strategy with hindsight.

        keeping transfers to a minimum has helped this year as well. Just one a week or so on average. That way I haven't had those moments that many others have had where they've subbed out VDV, Young, Hangeland etc just before they score big.
        One of my rivals is still smarting after axing Bale the week before one of his early season mega scores.

I might be feeling rather smug about my 4 point hit this week Silva OUT N'Zogbia IN right about now, but I know so many people in mini-leagues with the likes of Adam/Hangeland and some more random big scorers this week coming off their bench.

A 0-1 Stoke, Huth goal would make my life, on 66 for the week with Huth coming in for Luiz.

    Indeed. I don't have many PS3 games, so it's ideal for me, but I would imagine there will be plenty of people out there who will already have all 5. Sucks to be them! Especially when they will have been the people most affected by the down time.
    
    I assume it's digital download only, haven't heard anything to the contrary.
