There are reports today claiming that Wolves will go into Sunday’s potential relegation decider with Blackburn without striker Kevin Doyle. The Irish Times have stated that Doyle suffered a recurrence of his previous knee injury in the 3-1 win at Sunderland on Saturday and will now face three-to-four weeks on the sidelines.

Doyle replaced Steven Fletcher after 71 minutes of the win at the Stadium of Light and was looking well placed to come into Mick McCarthy’s starting lineup for Sunday’s crunch encounter. The report states that, although Doyle came through his appearance the weekend, he openly admitted to have been “playing through some pain for the last 10 of the 20 minutes”.

This will be welcome news for Fantasy Managers. Doyle was a troublesome factor to consider in the Wolves ranks given that Fletcher and Stephen Ward both look strong prospects going into Sunday’s game. Should Doyle be out of the picture, Fletcher would seem certain to start up front against Rovers, with Ward likely to retain his start in the support striker role. Ward is available as a defender in the Fantasy Premier League game.

There’s no confirmation of Doyle’s injury from Wolves however, the club’s official twitter stream today released a firm “No comment” verdict on the situation. Make of that what you will.

We will bring you official news once it’s surfaced via our own Twitter channel.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Foster - Begovic
    Luiz - Kolarov - Carr - Walker - Huth
    Lamp - Adam - Young - VDV - Silva
    RVP - Suarez - Odem

    Should I do:

    A (12 point hit):
    VDV > Modric
    Silva > Sessengon
    Suarez > Tevez
    Odem > Berba

    or

    B (4 point hit)
    Odem > Berba
    Silva > Sessengon

    Thanks!

I could do an 8 point by losing Lamps, but I'm worried that VDV and Silva both may not play leaving me short of 11 players (be lucky to get 3 defenders playing!)

Take as few hits as possible.

      Odem > Berba
      Young > N'Zog

Don't like Sessengnon, that match is a dead rubber.

        @ Zee303

I think you were unlucky this week

        I'd maybe consider something like,

        Lampard to Nzobia and then

Hernadez to Tevez - I think tevez more likley to score big than Lamps

I did consider that, if only had 0.2 more i could do Malouda to Nzogbia instead.

Would i not be better getting rid of Malouda since he might not play, at least Lampard will play.

I would do the Silva out one, at least Lamps should play and you never know who might be rested!

Unless you want to do a silly 12 point hit to get Tevez and Berba!

I have just thought of a new possible feature for fantasy premier league! In Play substitutions. Perhaps during simultaneous games you can sub in a player from your bench who is performing well for a player who is having a mare. The sub in clause should include a -2 or even -3 penalty and the player subbed out (ie his current points and points subsequently gained in the remaining closing minutes are forfeited) you must still maintain a listed formation and your captain cannot be subbed. So for example say man utd v qpr and chelsea v villa are both saturday 3pm kick offs. Taarbart is on your bench and has just scored a second goal. You have started Torres and villa are holding them 0-0. You decide to sub in taarbart for torres. I believe that this will enhance the skill level of the game and give the 'casual user' a disadvantage. Thoughts?

      Terrible idea.

It rewards people who are always on their computers, and that's just not the case. There's no skill level in subbing in a player who's doing well. The game is fine as it is.

The one thing they can change is BPs to make them more consistent, and emergency captains, which are just ridiculous.

I like it as it is, if only they would change the rules slightly to

      a) Give a sliding scale of sub points - Sub 1 = max points, Sub 2 = half points, Sub 3 = one third points.
This would stop the absolute jammyness when someone puts a player third choice sub and they still get maximum points from them.

      b) Change autocaptain to vice captain.

      c) Not show any number of transfers in and out. That would stop the annoying fecking price chasing forcing early moves.

Rounded down of course to ensure there are no 2.3 scores or anything.
I'm bitter as a rival got Walkers 7 points from third sub. The player he had least faith in gets him a whole 7 points 😡 (I started Walker too so extra annoying)

the only change i'd make is change the captain rule. the possible downside being that if the vice captain doesn't play either then you don't get a captain. so my idea is have a 3 person menu like for substitutes where you select your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice captain. if all 3 don't play, tough! you don't deserve a captain

you shouldn't get punished for having a life. the beauty of fpl as it is now is you have all week to log in once and make your changes for the next week in a matter of seconds. it then doesn't matter where you are for the rest for the week.

    Walker, Luiz, Dawson (R.Johnson, Huth)
    Adam, Modric, Silva, vDV, N’Zogbia
    Bent, RvP (Carroll)

5.3 in the bank, one transfer. Chasing a guy with a 32 point lead. Is it a lost cause? I really shouldn't be taking any hits should i? Is it simply Carroll to Berbatov and then bench who? Would love to win my mini league.

Eh, read it! 1 : as i said it would only apply on simultaneous games, which are mainly sat 3pm. 2: it would just be an extra option, ie for players who DO dedicate their time stuck in front of a computer during matches! I think it would enhance the skill level of the game, something badly needed! Ps you dont have to play this game if you dont want to Dannyj! Just a thought!

yeah me too MAD but the potential reward is worth the risk imo. Good chance he will start and if he does he'll tear it up as the main man with no rooney, chico, valencia etc. stealing his thunder.
If he starts 10+ points is likely imo, if he doesn't I'm down 4.

Chasing an 11 point lead for £300. Other mini leagues are wrapped up.

Does a 4 point hit; Torres & Zamora -> Berbs & Tevez make sense?

Definitely. Obviously depends on who your rival has, but captain one of them (I'd go Berbs) and hope for some end of season madness.

The biggest improvement is bonus points imo.

Either only award 2 bp to the ACTUAL man of the match, or
Change points scoring to, say 1 for under 10 mins, 3 for up to 45mins and 5 for more than 60.

Just seems daft that Silva for example, got 1 pt for playing and 2bp!

Bonus points should be a marginal bonus is what i'm trying to say.

I don't think a total overhaul of the bonus points is needed, just some transparency on exactly how they are awarded.

I think the main change is to do vice captain instead of the current stupid system.

yep it's near perfect. Bp's rarely go to someone that's played badly, it's subjective but usually they reward players that had a good game. Plus it's another factor to weigh up when considering players as certain types of players tend to attract bp's.

Bonus points awards shouldn't be 3,2,1 for each game. If all players have been crap then you don't need to award any. I'd say look at each player and award them 0,1,2 or 3.

Is there anything I'm missing with the free bet on sign up on Boylesports. The only T&C that seem to matter is that it must match the best you place as your first bet. And you don't get the stake back

So if I do £10 on Tevez/Berbs scorer

Then use my free bet to do the same + RVP @ 11/1 I'll get back 110 if it wins, not £120? And then I can withdraw that as I please?

I'm just looking at opening a new account so if you bet at least £10 they'll match it up to £20 on another bet. Doesn't seem to be any catches other than the fact you don't get your stake back on the free bet.

I'd downgrade one of Malouda or Lampard and updgrade Suarez or Odemwingie to Berba or Tevez if I were you. I think there will be a few goals in the Villa Pool game so I'd rather get rid of Odemwingie.. especially as he has a niggle and WBA plan to give youngsters a run-out.

I'm 1 point behind on a h2h league and pretty certain of a win this week. However the leader is playing a friend who still has a wild card, they've said I can use as I please.

    The leaders team is:
    Hart

    Kuyt,Adam,Nani,Yaya,(Dempsey)

I think there is something seriously wrong here... I have Lescott and im sittin 2nd 5 points behind the leader who has Silva..

    Not happy!

Perhaps Silva was better than Lescott? Could be that.

Agreed that you have been hard done by here. When a defender scores and keeps a clean sheet he usually gets BPs, the precedent has been set. I just don't really agree with the precedent.

but when he scores and keeps a clean sheet, he gets points for those anyway.

When Silva makes loads of chances that are then wasted by Balotelli, Milner, Barry or someone, he gets no points.

check the members stats. it's pretty damning on silva, he's behind yaya, milner and even de jong in pretty much every category. lescott even beats silva on the shots category.
the categories which silva normally does well in key passes (just 1, milner has 3 for example) and through balls (just 1, even swp has 2)

they played 40 mins extra though so you'd expect them to be ahead on overall stats.

true but then that also works the other way, they did all that extra stuff. where do you draw the line? if you get injured after 20 mins you could have done a lot for 20mins?

yeah, I know what you mean but he played 2/3 of the match and imo was class even if he lacked the cutting edge. The whole midfield performed well without anyone being outstanding and I think cases could be made for 7 or 8 city players getting bp's but silva was at least as deserving as the others.

Yeah, I just did before I saw this post. There's absolutely nothing in there to suggest that Silva was even close to being the best player on the pitch.

But....When I watch the game Silva always seems to be one of their best players, probably next to Tevez. Also they play differnt posistions. The three you meantioned all play centre mid, Silva doesn't

i agree silva is normally the guy that makes stuff happen, especially in the absence of tevez. yesterday however i thought silva was wayward and no way near his playmaking best. i'm saying this as an extremely grateful silva owner. i'd be very peeved if i was in the scenario crakers is in

and a point that was made yesterday is that silva lost out on 2 points getting injured on 56mins as opposed to 60 mins. the way the game was at the end he could have easily cashed in with a goal or assist too, who knows?
so yeah extremely luck with the bps but he was 4 mins away from an extra 2 points anyway. i would have given tevez 3, richards 2, lescott 1. first half lescott was great, 2nd half he had nothing to do really whilst richards was still bombing on and making things happen such as the free kick which lescott scored from for example

Thoughts in my head right now about the players to get this week.

I've already got N'Zogbia and VDV and think I'll be going for fletcher..

Feel free to add some more..

    Defenders

Ward: Wolves: Home game - Playing in striker position, team on form, relegation battle, at home, against a weak away Blackburn. Goal/assist potential + bonus. Slight chance of cleansheet.

Glen Johnson: Liverpool – On form, high chance of assist(s) with slight chance of cleansheet, maybe goal.

Dawson : Tottenham: Home game– On form, due a goal??? High chance of cleansheet + bonus.

    Midfielders

Adam: Blackpool: Away game – Coming back in to form? Needs a win against a weak Man U side in relegation battle. On penalties, high chance of assist(s). Bonus likely if high scoring game.

VDVarrt: Tottenham: Home game– Slight injury doubt, but if he plays strong captain option. High chance of goals, assist(s)+ bonus.

N’Zogbia: Wigan: Away. On Fire! Big score last week, in relegation battle, everything goes through him.

Nani: Man U: Home game. Considered guaranteed to play in home Man U game against week Blackpool. Highley likely to score and assist + bonus.

Hitz/Parker: Westham: Home game: Relegated, but my play for pride. Both will be looking for a new team next season, Easyish fixture. Goals/assist potential

    Strikers

Fletcher: Wolves: Home game – On fire, wolves playing well, relegation battle, high chance of goal(s), assist(s)+bonus.

Berbs: Man U: Home game. Going for top goal scorer, got something to prove. Should be on penos against team who give away penos. Considered guaranteed to play in home Man U game against week Blackpool. Highley likely to score and assist + bonus.

I am in the final of the H2H league that my mates and I had for the entire season. Apparently there was a knock out stage, which I was not aware of when I set it up. Anyway, what will happen in the case of a draw? Who will get the win?

      Same like in fantasy cup.

It's decided on goals scored and then goals conceded and if there's still a draw then it's a random pick.
