Rafael Van der Vaart has this evening ruled himself out of Tottenham’s end of season clash with Birmingham on Sunday.

The Dutchman again communicated the message to supporters via Twitter, having earlier confirmed his calf injury via the same channel this week.

This morning Harry Redknapp stated that Van der Vaart was “struggling” with the calf injury but now Fantasy Managers have had the situation clarified. While Van der Vaart’s tweet is far from official – there’s no reason to doubt the player’s announcement and we must now make plans for our squads without the services of a player who has become a firm favourite this season.

The news follows earlier confirmation of Peter Odemwingie’s absence from West Brom’s lineup for the trip to Newcastle – two very significant absentee’s going into the gameweek 38 conclusion. In many ways however, having both injury doubts cleared up, provides clarity on their situations and allows us to contemplate the merits of spending points on transfers to repair the gaps they leave in our squads.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It would actually be hilarious if Kolarov did come good this gameweek, but was then sold in the summer...... 😆

Welbeck and VDV are injured. Luiz may not play... if you have a spare transfer or two it might b worth considering fletcher up front, Tevez if you can afford him or modric in midfield...

    Luiz Ward Bardsley (Djourou, Kelly)
Modric, Silva, Nani, Walters (Van der Vaart)
    Sturridge, Suarez, Fletcher(C)

I still have one transfer(7.9 in the bank), any suggestions? Is anyone else captaining Fletcher?

Thanks zlatan, no concerns about the midfield and rotation? What about the D, shouldn't I focus on that first with three first teamers up top?

Just trying to get some feedback, I like Berba if he STARTS though

    Two free transfers done.

    Silva > Modric
    Rooney > Tevez

    Last dilemma.

Sturridge > Berbatov (4 point hit)

I'm stuck right on the fence with this one. Sturridge could do well, but Berbatov is a risk I feel is worth taking. Decisions, decisions...

They're good moves. I don't think I'd sell Lamps as Chelsea could get a pen, plus they need to get something from the game since Man City could mathematically claim 2nd place.

This weeks' mortgage job is Fulham.

Arsenal have now officially lost the plot - again. They've managed only one win in their last six away games (against the poorest performing home team this season), conceding a whopping 15 goals in the process. Their last two performances against Villa and Stoke have been absolutely woeful. This is a team plagued with injuries who simply cannot wait for the end of term bell.

Fulham on the other hand are the mirror opposite. They've finally learned how to win away from home and have been bloody excellent in their own manor - Liverpool blip aside! They've earned 6 wins and a draw (against Chelsea) out of their last 8 games, scoring thrice 4 times and accumulating 6 clean sheets in the process. Compare that to their 2 wins from 10 games at Craven Cottage before the New Year. This is a vastly improved, in form team.

11/4!! UNBELIEVABLE! IT'S TIME TO BET LIKE A MAN!

If Fulham sit in the centre circle they get in Europe via the fair play league. Are they going to compete for every ball? Get stuck into Arsenal's midfield and attempt to stifle their passing game? Not even motivation for me.

Might look at some bet on Fulham to get under 1.5 cards once the odds go up (if they do for a non-TV game). Leaving 1X2 alone though.

    Hi all

I am TWO points behind mini-league leader and my team is as follows:

    VDS (Mignolet)
    Luiz, Walker, Kolorov (Carr, Coleman)
VDV, Kuyt, NZogbia, Y Toure, Adam
    RVP, Drogba (Zamora)

My single transfer I think should be Drogba to Berbatov OR Tevez

However, if VDV doesn’t play then it’s a bit risky?

Do you think I should do a -4 and do the following:

    OUT: Drogba & Zamora
    IN: Tevez & Berbatov

Or is it silly to do a -4 when I am only 2 points behind mini-league leader?

    Thanks, appreciate your advice!

chasing 36 points... nothing to lose, person behind is over 100 points away.

    How is this for sunday?

    Lampard, Odem, Hernandez out
Modric, Ba or DJ or Fletcher in

Not getting Berba in because the leader has him captained
Or will Tevez be better to get?

I'm leaning towards Tevez and N'Zogbia... just on the basis of form, and both clubs are chasing something...

        I have N'zog.

Tevez is chasing golden boot but Ba, DJ and fletcher and trying to get out of relegation...

Good point re. DJ and Fletcher... but Ba and West Ham are gone down since last weekend.

Does anyone know, without speculating, guessing or hypothesising, who is on free kicks and corners for Spurs?

    Evenin' folks,

This may be borderline sacreligious given the bandwagon behind Berbatov, but does anyone think he's over hyped? Since Feb 1 he's played 3 full games (out of 13), scored 2 goals and has an average fantasy score of 2 over that period (~2.5 if you discount the games he didn't feature in at all). I know Blackpool have to chase it, but you still need to be on form to score, right?

Tevez seems on fire though... so i'm thinkin
    Odem -> Tevez (c)
    VDV -> N'Zog
... taking 4pt hit, leaving me with RVP up front, and 0.0 in the bank (need to do it tonight tho because of price rises / drops). Could get Berbs for RVP just in case, but not sure its worth the hit... Thoughts? Desperately trying to protect a 16pt lead...

Best of fantasy luck everyone for the weekend. Really enjoyed logging on to the site every week... cold turkey from Monday!!!

Agreed with Berb - could score 5, but more likely will be firing blanks. Tevez seems a much better shout, and N'Zogbia is on fire.

the real difference is berbs is a lazy f**k... he needs an incentive. he's now got the biggest of his career. remember how good he was at spurs. that dude hath just been reincarnated...

Berbs is the pick for the swashbuckling romantic! He may score 5 goals, 25 points and single handedly turn a minileague.

Of course he could walk around the pitch, look disinterested and get hauled off after being booked on 59 mins.

Tevez is a very sensible pick I'm sure. He'll score 1 or 2 and get some bonus, but where is the fun in that?

Modric is always a keen bet for the bonus judges, and sturridge is ruthless in front of goal. But I think Nose McCarthy will have the boys fired up for this one in the Black Country. Wolves are fighting for their lives and they are at their best when they are full throttle attacking. I have to believe Fletcher will be good for at least a bonus point and either a goal or assist.

      I think I'm captaining Fletcher!
