The Premier League have confirmed to us this afternoon that their Fantasy game is in the final stages of testing for the new season but will not be going live today.

The game and site have been enhanced and, while things are almost complete, there are still some minor browser issues that need to be ironed out before the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) site can launch.

We can take this opportunity to dispel a number of rumours that have cropped up in recent days and confirm that all is well with the FPL and that the game will be free to play. There are also a number of significant improvements that we feel will be greeted with a very positive response from players and, in particular, our community; having voiced strong opinions on certain features of the game, you have helped influence some of the changes introduced.

We will endeavour to bring you details of those changes and any update on the release date. One of the benefits of our new relationship with the FPL is that visitors to Fantasy Football Scout will get information and enjoy a two-way relationship with the game organisers. This means that once the game is released and the new features announced, you can rely on us to feedback your reactions to the changes.

How many people who are moaning about the influx of people and the drop in advantage over rivals finished top 1k last year?

You seem to think that using this site makes you choose the right players. Ok sure, would I have had Elmo at the start of last season without this site? Probably not. But you still have to make decisions based on the information you read.

Like I said earlier, I found out today that one of my rivals from last year found this site about 3-4 months into the season. At that point he was rock bottom. By the end of the season.......rock bottom. he made bad decisions.

You also have to remember that using the site can actually be a hinderance, that is if you're a sucker for a good bandwagon. I love a good bandwagon and was on the Boselli/Petrov one at the start of the season and joined the Kolarov one more than once. Like I said, it's all about making the correct decision. FFS doesn't spoon feed you who to get, which is why we get moaning posts every week when the Scout picks are out. people always seem to question them, that's the whole point of this game, it's a lot of luck.

Now stop moaning you miserable ba*tards 🙂

  Agreed. i can see why people worry but it doesnt make that much difference and you cant have a cosy club on the internet, especially when dealing with a game with over 2 million players!
  
  I joined a cash league with about 20 players who all used this site and i came second....its just one of those things....
  
  Lets just hope it keeps working , doesnt slow and come on FPL start again!

I just rad the comments to the previous article I mean I wasn't alive in the 60s but now I think I know what the hysteria was like when Bob Dylan moved on from acoustic. He was was branded a traitor! Hilarious overreaction 🙂 And I looked at my history on the FPL site pre and post my use of FFS. My final scores have been up and down more times then Natasha Giggs' knickers. It basically depends on your choice on picking each player and not on what FFS says.

    I think the link with FPL is great. It's cleared up the bonus points and assists.
    
    I'm not sure whether there's been a suggestion about it from Mark & the team, or just from posters, but separating members from non-members in terms of comments, etc would be terrible.
    
    It would split the community and wouldn't do much for inviting new posters in.

        I'm backing the defence. A really decent striker would be impossible to turn down. We haven't had one in about ten years, apart from Fryatt in League One ffs.
        
        Just an observation, but Beausejour might actually be a decent punt now if he sticks about :p

    Oster is right at the bottom of the prices and picks up a happy value of assists (2/3 the point of a goal).
    
    He's a perfect dirtbox midfielder if you need someone on the barrel to go with three top draw midfielders, etc.

Can anyone tell me the name of the South American central defender Sunderland has/has?. I think he played two seasons ago? I remember vaguely because I kept him on the bench for weeks and he haemorrhaged point 1s for weeks but I like a fool persisted because I thought I was "clever" 🙁

  I'm actually pretty happy with the deals so far - pretty much straight swap Cabaye for Nolan. Haven't seen much of him to be honest but heard great things, could be quality if he settles. I reckon it was the right decision to refuse Nolan a 5 year contract at £60k (ish) pw.
  Marveaux could be good if he stays fit, and Ba on a free is a cracking move.
  All in all pretty happy. How do you see them?

    Happy with what we have done so far. But, and its a big but, we need several more players and in my opinion need rid of the likes of Guthrie and Smith, more quality and depth in the squad, such as having Gosling on the bench as I imagine he will be. However I think they are softening up for nothing much else and maybe Enrique/Jonas going, all this crap about 35 million vanishing, as if we got no money for Nolan and as if they have no other income!
    
    At first I was pissed over Nolan but as you say 5 years for a guy who wont be on it in five years, hes not physically likely to be anyway, is excessive, Cabaye has good references, lets see!
    
    Happy with ba but need another Striker esp if Shola is on his way!

      Yeah agree with getting rid of the likes of Smith - though who would pay an injury prone player £50k ish per week?
      Is Shola on his way? Unsuprised with the way Ashley is running things, knew he would simply pocket the £35m.

So, anyone whos playing the Sun FF, whats your planning??
Im unsure whether to go for the league or just concentrate on monthly prizes, which could be easier?
If I had 6 teams for example, then I could set one up for each window, and go from there?

P.s. good job by the guy who did the fixture planning thing earlier Thinking Arsenal, Fulham, early on, then depends on who gets who in cups and groups etc??

So, what's your FPL wishlist for this season? What improvements/changes do you think will happen when it opens in the next couple of days? Mine include:

- Change to the emergency captain rule now pick a vice captain and if neither play then no captain that week.

- Update the 20th century graphics and more animation such as dragging and dropping with the shirts.

- Weekly dream team to work as the game week is in progress so we can see the best players while the games take place.

- Faster updating for the league tables if possible.

- Custom filter ranges such as players who have scored more than x or players who have a form greater than y.

- Please make the fixtures page selectable from a drop-down menu rather than having to click previous/next so if you're on week 28 and want to see the results in week 6 don't make me click previous 22 times just give us a drop-down list.

That is all I can think of so what's yours?

I can see this partnership having a huge effect on price changes too. Bandwagons will become rockets. As soon as a player is tipped watch him fly. Implications all round really. Well done FFS. Pleased for you guys as individuals - dissapointed for the effect it will have on FPL.

      I've no problem either way, but to be able to use two in the first two weeks would be a bit... much. A 2011 and a 2012 wildcard I would take as reasonable, but I'm a contented man... I can understand pretty much all the rules.

        I have to admit I didn't like the idea at the start of the season, but it bloody well saved my bacon (well moderately so). Turned it around from 250k ish to 50k ish.
        I'll no doubt be initially snobby again and be a big hypocrite.

Congrats on the recognition guys!

Using this site definitely gave me the edge last year in my league, and I'm happy it's getting a bit (or lot) of exposure now.

The only thing I'm not looking forward to is a tenfold increase in the number of RMT! responses. Maybe you could add a RateMyTeam board or something for each gameweek? That way it can (at least try to) keep the response lists a little more conversational. Skimming each page for the 1 interesting topic among the 50 RMT posts is a buzz kill.
