The first version of our season 2011/12 Player Projections are now available to our Members.

Members will find the Projections for each position by logging on to the Members Area and navigating to the relevant section. Use the top menu bar to view tables by position.

These Projections offer our first attempt at predicting the returns for players over the 2011/12 season. They are based on various factors including past performance, their Opta data, the likelihood of rotation, likelihood of injury and suspension, absence due to the African Nations Cup and finally, our opinion on whether they will rise or fall in fortune over the coming season.

The Projection tables include our prediction for goals, assists, clean sheets, yellow cards, Fantasy Premier League Bonus and Fantasy Premier League points.

Hours have been spent purring over calculations and data and then the Scout team have offered their view on the current standings with final tweaks made today.

These are not our final projections – given that we have had very few pre-season matches to assess formations and starting lineups, changes are inevitable. Only today the impending transfer of Charles N’Zogbia to Villa caused a change in the projections, with N’Zogbia himself tweaked, along with Marc Albrighton and Victor Moses of Wigan.

Such changes will be ongoing. It’s likely will be revised on a daily basis as the pre-season matches and summer transfers create extra variables and influence our thinking. We will of course notify you of any major changes and updates as and when they are implemented.

For now though, enjoy pulling apart this first effort.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yep, we've been debating that one. Skrtel and Carragher first choice for me right now but formation might yet change and Agger may even get the left-back berth. Early days - that one could definitely change.

We heard the same this time last year when we had DJ Campbell down for 10 goals and he wasn't on pens.

I had my doubts but if Sinclair doesn't get them goals then where will they come from? Unless they're going to break the Premier League record for the fewest goals in a season, someone is got to get them a few. When you consider that Fletcher got 10 for Wolves, Gardner 8 for Birmingham (without being a regular) and neither of those was on spot-kicks, I think Sinclair has every chance of double figures.

Much depends on the formation now. I've a feeling that McLeish will go 4-4-2 to prove a point to doubting Villa fans that he can put out attacking sides. Ireland would work in a 4-5-1 and Villa might well end up in that setup if results go badly.

Chelsea players are causing me mucho distress. Cashley best Def, but expensive, like the idea of fat Frank for goals, pens, assists (especially with new free-kick bonus rules) and fixtures making me seriously consider Torres, despite his woeful form showing no sign of improving. But how can you really pick Drogs? I mean, come on! But the fixtures are great, and Man City have nothing up front that's tempting, as far as I can see.

    Woe woe and thrice woe!

There is a simple solution to that problem IMO and that is have none of them for GW1 (i mean no MID/ATT players, by all means grab yourself a JT, Cole, Cech etc) but leave yourself the fund to bring one in for GW2 onwards. If you've got 4 or 5 million in the bank it's a simple swap and by the start of GW2 you should have a much better idea of who playing and in what position.

Hmm, I like the cut of your jib SD, althougth it rather goes against my instinct of having cash on the bench/bank, not on the pitch for any GW. But, it would allow a Silva Mid pick for GW. It's an idea that I'll mull, so ta.

Another annoyance is Zamora/Johnson. Like Fulham early with good fixtures and UEFA qualifiers better than any friendly for getting up to speed, so should hit the ground running early GW's m'thinks.

I think you should pick a forward you could see yourself with for a couple of weeks. Yea tevez may start but he's also a man-child. I don't follow chelsea close enough to comment, but i feel like most of them have a real shot of being rotated except torres, but I don't think he's partnered well.

I reckon that'll mean nothing. Balotelli probably throws hissy-fits all the time in training.

Mancini will look to show him his pimp hand in public, but behind closed doors he probably just shrugs it off and goes "ah, what can you do with him, eh?".

They could be gold but the jury is still out on who has the RB role. It looked like Fabio but new season, new slate - might be reset now. I don't think you can be totally confident opting for either until we're underway and the rotation risk can be assessed. Luckily, I don't see many clean sheets early on for United anyway.

I can't justify MU Defs or Mids due to rotation risks, barring Vidic of course, but he's too pricey for my liking. Hernandez an interesting outsider, especially given Fergie's comments today about bettering his 20 goals 2010/11.

i think rafael is more settled and is first choice as he's naturally rb and fabio left, but knowing fergie i'm sure he'll rotate them. rafael has got much more experience than his brother so far and had taken over that slot last season from o'shea until injured/banned.

Downing for me. I think Liverpool will make a bit of a 'look at us' statement first few games and Downing will be in the thick of it.

    Tevez 19 starts?

surely it's either 0 or 30+. Or are you anticipating a move in Jan?

That's looking increasingly likely. Where can he go in the short term? Oh, apart from Plymouth... that's nearer to his children.

Yup, that's exactly what Mark has based that on. 19 takes Tevez up till January- the thinking is he'll start every game if fit. We'll tinker if it turns out he may stay beyond then...

First 5 gameweeks in mind. Thoughts people?

    A) O'Hara and Silva
    B) N Zog and YaYa

now I write it down, it seems obvious (B). Is there any early Dempsey or Ivanovic love out there? I think Ivan is my Chelsea coverage for now

i hope corluka goes, then that would mean walker would be nailed on to start rb i reckon and would be a great buy.

Yeah, like the look of the boy, fast and strong for a short stack, and loves to bomb forward. But I like Hutton too, he was impressive until he fell out with Droopy early 2011. Corluka is classy, but turns like a tanker and accelerates backwards.

    Given, Kenny

    Alcaraz, Kompany, Hughes, Bramble, Simpson

Van Der Vaart, Silva, Taarabt, Sessegnon, Dyer

    RVP, Zamora, Drogba

I'm keeping this draft for now at least until we hear more. Drogba and Van Der Vaart are definitely subject to change pending form/starting status. 20.5 for a mid and striker. It's a toughie.

I love your defense! So few doing the cheap defense, its so encouraging that I'm not the only one.

That said....awful confused on VDV and Drogba. VDV's first five is just awful, and he is way too inconsistent. We then have no square clue if Drogba is starting.

Love taraabt. You talked me into Sess. Zamora makes so much sense.

silva works...but I like Yaya more, right now.

Love this team....Defend Drogba and VDV for me, if you get the chance. I just think Lampard and maybe bent makes so much more sense.

Clarifying: Lampard, bent, and downsize silva to Yaya should fit, if you're interested. I just will never get how preseason form can make people ignore VDV's fixtures.

Yeah that fits. It looks good, but I like Silva a lot this year. Just my hunch. Think he could be this year's Nani.

That said, I got it all wrong start of last year.

My opening midfield was Arshavin, Valencia, Arteta, Petrov, Albrighton (who scored 9 points on my bench) haha.

As long as I keep my options open, I think I'll be able to make changes without having to take hits.

Maybe Malouda, Bent, Silva instead. I don't like Bent though, but there's really no one else worth getting at the moment...

You really like Malouda, Camz? I just fear rotation. That Chelsea front six could contain ANYONE....Lamps is the only one nailed on.

Silva I totally get...I just think Yaya for 8 is ok.

            What's the problem with Bent?

camz likes to get a jump on the price rises at the beginning, so cheap defense makes sense as they don't change too much, my most expensive defender is kompany as well.

Yeah I'm taking some big risks with VdV and Drogba. But both if they start are fantasy gold.

Probably will change to something safer.

I always put together the safest possible team to start the year, and leave the risks until I have more info. Hence bent, Lamps, and yaya.
