The first version of our season 2011/12 Player Projections are now available to our Members.

Members will find the Projections for each position by logging on to the Members Area and navigating to the relevant section. Use the top menu bar to view tables by position.

These Projections offer our first attempt at predicting the returns for players over the 2011/12 season. They are based on various factors including past performance, their Opta data, the likelihood of rotation, likelihood of injury and suspension, absence due to the African Nations Cup and finally, our opinion on whether they will rise or fall in fortune over the coming season.

The Projection tables include our prediction for goals, assists, clean sheets, yellow cards, Fantasy Premier League Bonus and Fantasy Premier League points.

Hours have been spent purring over calculations and data and then the Scout team have offered their view on the current standings with final tweaks made today.

These are not our final projections – given that we have had very few pre-season matches to assess formations and starting lineups, changes are inevitable. Only today the impending transfer of Charles N’Zogbia to Villa caused a change in the projections, with N’Zogbia himself tweaked, along with Marc Albrighton and Victor Moses of Wigan.

Such changes will be ongoing. It’s likely will be revised on a daily basis as the pre-season matches and summer transfers create extra variables and influence our thinking. We will of course notify you of any major changes and updates as and when they are implemented.

For now though, enjoy pulling apart this first effort.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Why is no one getting Everton players, because they usually start the season terribly?

Right, so as things stand now (irrespective of how much tinkering you have done, or intend to do), which of your outfield players has the highest % ownership?

Also, do you put any stock into that now, or are you of the opinion that differentials only really count at the business end of the season?

For me, it's Kompany at 22.9%. Personally not too bothered about differentials with the masses as they mostly kick my ass anyway 😛 But I expect there'll be huge variation in my work league as usual, with only a few names common to all teams.

Me too. Much prefer his speed and mobility over the 'turns like a tanker and accelerates backwards' Corluka, but Droopy comes from a long line of Spurs mgrs that often don't do what seems clear as day to me.

I'm beginning to fancy Hernandez instead of Bent as a short term fix until Suarez is fit. Are Bent's fixtures really that great? Away games are tough. Wolves can be hard to break down, esp with the addition of R Johnson. West brom away and leaky Spurs at home is quite attractive for Hernandez. And he won't be rested for those. Any takers?

Nah, I'll just get Rooney and Bent both. Wolves are tough, but Bent scores against everyone. Fulham away could be rough, but if they are gonna be as offensive as everyone says, there will certainly be holes. Everton away is tough too, but I really think we're going to see another slow start from them. The rest of the home games for Bent are quite good.

My main tinker atm is whether I start with VDV and switch to Malouda for his nice fixtures or just start with Malouda. Either way Malouda is meant to turn into VDV eventually, he's one of my favourite fantasy players along with RVP

I reckon downgrade Lampard to VDV, and keep cole as your chelsea coverage. Stoke Away is by no means a formality. Then for week two, take VDV out for Malouda if he looks like starting, and if not get Lampard then.

Defence looks good, i wouldn't change that.

Maybe some newcastle coverage in midfield. Barton? Can't see the appeal with Duff

I'd also try and upgrade Suarez to Rooney if you could

So I see that Rooney vs RVP have almost exactly the same Pts and Pts/pound but they have RVP playing 8 less games (guessing thats based on how brittle RVP is). How I translate that is that if RVP was to remain healthy all year that he would have more Pts by a landslide.

Anyways, going by there projections, it looks like Suarez is the clear pick for this year.

I know I will wildcard around GW3-4 anyway, that is inevitable for many of us imo. I'd obviously have to to take a hit but I don't like Spurs' fixtures and Silva probably wouldn't go mental anyway, he isn't that type of player. Only one I would be concerned about is Malouda, but that is why it is gamble, because I'm basically backing Torres to be my Chelsea coverage.

I don't like it. Kenny is a better choice than Al-Habsi long term, and you don't want to have to make goalie changes if you don't have to.

3 expensive defenders early doors is very unlikely to come off. You don't have money up top to jump on the best bandwagons. Face it, you're going to choose a few duds, but if you're going to, at least have enough money to get them replaced.

Midfield is extremely budget, but not even in the right targets. O'Hara and Duff aren't good choices. Up top, Suarez looks unlikely to start, and even if Torres is a confirmed starter, there's no form to back him. Only Bent is anything near reliable in this team, and that's a problem.

I know I will probably wildcard GW3-4 anyway so it doesn't really matter if I pick a few duds. Don't see what is wrong with Duff or O'Hara, both proven players with good fixtures who will score well over the season.

Obviously the strikers depend on a number of things, but I did mention that, like I said it is risky but I'm bored of going along with the generic team all the time.

yeh i have... and im reluctant to put him in due to rotation with kuyt and maxi but then again he will play wide left whereas maxi and kuyt are suited to the right. His 8.5 price tag is very good if he starts but will be a waste if he doesn't. What are your thoughts?

      Bent

      Zog/Taaeabt

Tiote will give you a solid 2 plus w/e bonus per game. Young and Nani are subject to rotation and diff early fixtures.

Right now, my favoured front 3 look something like:

      RVP, Zamora and Holt.

I'm making the assumption that Suarez wont play the first game or two.

Nzog and Taraabt are good picks.

Why does everybody bum off Camzy? He got a good rank last season and fairplay to him but he does always pick quite safe players so his team won't be much different to any generic team.

Could I please have an answer for this?:

    Al-Habsi,Orr,Moses

    OR

    Kenny,Figueroa,Tiote

By the way, my other defenders are Luiz,Kompany,Hughes,Simpson.

Also, is N'Zogbia now a must have? Or he is a bandwagon worth staying away from? He's in 30% of teams..

I appreciate Liverpool are paying for the potential of the player more anything else. Still, it's difficult to see why they were willing to pay so much. That's just plain crazy money. He hardly set the footballing world alight at Sunderland.

Unsure about which 6.0 mid to get.

Sinclair?- Unproven but fabulous record in the championship, and Swanseas main man.
O'Hara?- Unique, and scored well last season, still risky though.
Barton?- Will score well without Nolan, but 15% of teams have him as opposed to Sinclairs 9.5%, and O'Haras 2.8%
    Ben Arfa?- Value, but risky.

Who are other people's choices? I'm leaning towards Barton.

Barton, I wouldn't worry about Diffs at the moment, time for that when you can see who's doing what and spot someone you think has potential. Barton has good fixtures and will see more of the points without Nolan.

What are peoples thoughts on dzeko? With tevez maybe leaving an balotelli being the tantrum throwing hussy, Mancini may not have much choice but to play dzeko main striker with silva and aguero (hopefully) playing behind. At 8.5 dzeko could be a steal considering that he is a jet played and with a half season and a pre to get used to the epl he could turn it on.

Dzeko has yet to shine at City. He doesn't have that "bulldog-like" approach of Tevez to grind out goals. It would be a waste of 8.5. I'd expect may 7-8 goals max from him this season.

Is this crazy? - Torres and Drogba both up front for the first 4 fixtures... it just seems like the goals will be flowing.

Then, switch out for Suarez/RVP GW5
