The first version of our season 2011/12 Player Projections are now available to our Members.

Members will find the Projections for each position by logging on to the Members Area and navigating to the relevant section. Use the top menu bar to view tables by position.

These Projections offer our first attempt at predicting the returns for players over the 2011/12 season. They are based on various factors including past performance, their Opta data, the likelihood of rotation, likelihood of injury and suspension, absence due to the African Nations Cup and finally, our opinion on whether they will rise or fall in fortune over the coming season.

The Projection tables include our prediction for goals, assists, clean sheets, yellow cards, Fantasy Premier League Bonus and Fantasy Premier League points.

Hours have been spent purring over calculations and data and then the Scout team have offered their view on the current standings with final tweaks made today.

These are not our final projections – given that we have had very few pre-season matches to assess formations and starting lineups, changes are inevitable. Only today the impending transfer of Charles N’Zogbia to Villa caused a change in the projections, with N’Zogbia himself tweaked, along with Marc Albrighton and Victor Moses of Wigan.

Such changes will be ongoing. It’s likely will be revised on a daily basis as the pre-season matches and summer transfers create extra variables and influence our thinking. We will of course notify you of any major changes and updates as and when they are implemented.

For now though, enjoy pulling apart this first effort.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone familiar with creating H2H leagues? I created a 20 player one and yet there are now 22 players signed up...

We had one last year, it will just mean you don't play everyone twice. FPL arrange it so no headaches. 🙂

But there is an option for how many players you want when you create it.

It's for another forum and I created an 'Unlimited players' league and a 20 player league. I created the 20 one in the hope that everyone would play each other twice, as it would resemble a normal season. But now there's 22! It looks as though there is an option to suspend players and stop more people from joining, is that what I now have to do?

I guess you just have to tell them it's full, and to join the other league. You should be able to take them out, I haven't checked this year yet,too busy with Metro,Texaco and Mail games.

Yea, taarabt and Sinclair are risky but they seem to score and provide everything for their respective teams. I can see them being the potential Charlie Adam's this season. There are lots of good players around the 6.5 mark so if one of them seems not to be cutting it or if Taarabt's personality decides to come out there will be a change. I'm considering changing Shawcross for Stephen Warnock simply because Aston Villa's fixtures look so nice and he's fully fit again.

Suarez worries me simply because he's had no rest.

Rafael is often rotated, Don't like Yaya for that money, V Persie is good, I never pick him because he can never seem to string more than 3 games together without injury. Ba is value price. Rodellega is good but I can see Wigan being terrible this year. Barton is good back up.

Valencia, Modric, Artete (if he's fit will be a steal), Lennon, Bale, Etherington.

If Arsenal sell Fabregas, Ramsey could be an absolute steal at 6.5

          NDyer from Swansea at 4.5
I would rather get Holt for that price. main man.
you can also always downgrade Hangeland to Hughes to free up some cash.

and is walker gonna start? luiz doesn't look nailed on too.

      Like this team a lot.

Possible problems. Walker might not play because Harry likes Corluka. Luis is amazing but who knows who will play in Chelsea's back 4.

Sessegnon looks a great shout this year.

I'd have Bothroyd on the bench but apart from that it's a nice team.

I think this is one of the best teams I've seen around. It's balanced, tight, there's no wasted money. Anything I could recommend would be an alternative rather than an improvement.

Choosing a 12.0 and a 10.0 striker is going to be tough, but you have a lot of time, and your basic team framework is excellent.

Midfield is fine. Very good actually. Potential to do really well.

The only thing worrying about the midfield is that you might struggle to pick up an early form player before his price skyrockets. If a VdV or Nani suddenly hits amazing form, you'd have to take hits to get them in.

        Bad defense?!

He's playing Kompany and Cole every week. That's two huge defenders out of 3! With good rotation, Sunderland, Wigan and Newcastle are perfectly capable of getting a clean sheet when needed.

Wooaah, chill your beans, it's just when you're looking at value for money, I think the best value for money is to be found in defenders who can get assists or goals. You look at the most expensive defender this year Baines 178 points 8.0, then look at midfielders for 8 mil e.g. Yaya who every1 is raving about is coming in at 146 points, Modric 125, Silva 9.5 144 A Young 10.0 160.

          My opinion.

Really like the defence, though even if Briggs plays, do you want 2 Fulham defenders? Don't like Tiote, raise some funds and get Moses, or Ben Arfa. Foward line looks great. I would spend the 1.5 on Tarrabt, or Tiote.

Excellent player, goal machine, but completely overpriced. If he were the lone striker on any other team, he would be a must-have.

This is very true. Although, this was when Rooney was not playing. Depending on how old Fergie plays his cards, Hernandez isn't even guaranteed starts. (If he goes with a big midfield with Young/Nani/Park/Giggs/Valencia/Obertan/Carrick) I'm just saying, not quite the locked-in playing time that Bent will see.

And to be fair, Bent had 17 goals last season and 24 the year before that. Now he has Nzogbia coming his way to help feed him.

Anyone else think that there's way, way too much love for Yaya? Last season he was a great price and therefore got into a lot of teams. His value has shot up this season. I just can't see him scoring as many goals as last year and for the other players around the same price it just seems bad value for money.

Never can be too much love for Yaya.

      1) Guaranteed starter on a top 3 team.
      2) #2 in the EA sports player index (which is going to be used for bonus points this year... so FPL loves him too)
      3) 8.0 is dirt cheap, considering players that hold his position on other top teams will run you 10+
      4) Man City has probably the best defense in the EPL, so there's a couple extra shut out points rolling your way.

      Thoughts? Objections?

        8.0 is not dirt cheap.

he isn't the main creative force of that team and he isn't renowned as a goalscorer either, he'll get plenty of bonus but thats not enough for 8.0

Agreed. Unfortunately, I need a City mid to root for, and Silva is out of my price range.

But I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for the best. Yaya is my captain on day one!

Yea, he'll score consistent points, no doubt. Modric didn't get too many assists or goals last season but I still think this season he'll outscore Yaya.

I have him, and personally think the 8.0 is a little steep, but apart from him, De Jong, and Silva, he's the only Citeh player who doesn't get rotated or dropped regularly. Plus, 9.5 is too much to pay for Silva.

looked absolute quality in patches last season, if nasri and fabregas leave he'll be a must-have because he'd fill fabregas' role (and fill it well). plus at 6.5 he's cheap.

He is good player. However people think that he, for some reason, will start banging them in if Nasri and Fabs leave. A lot of hype in that name, but in fantasy perspective, not so much as far as I am concerned.

He's more of a Iniesta type. He does'nt exactly rack up the goals and assists, but when he's playing he controls the game, and links up well.

I'm not sold on Holt, though I can't argue price.

Wilshere is a bargain... IF Nasri and Fabregas are sold, but I don't see that happening.

Not sure Luiz is a nailed on starter - been going back and forth on that - he was in my initial team too.

Don't much care for Vidic's opening fixtures. (This coming from a Man Utd fan...) Would avoid at first.

      bale is overrated IMO.

Rest looks fine, though Suarez could be rested.

Hadn't checked here prior to making it, but it looks like most of my choices are pretty cookie cutter, unfortunately. 🙁

    Given / Al-Habsi
    O'Shea / Kompany / Huges / Orr / Simpson
    N"Zogbia / Sinclair / VDV / Yaya / Taraabt
    Bent / Rooney / Rodallega

Likely get tweaked a whole bunch - don't like how my defense pans out for GW1, since Simpson, Orr and O'Shea don't have enviable starts, and I'm not much keen on huges vs Villa (Bent), either.
