The first version of our season 2011/12 Player Projections are now available to our Members.

Members will find the Projections for each position by logging on to the Members Area and navigating to the relevant section. Use the top menu bar to view tables by position.

These Projections offer our first attempt at predicting the returns for players over the 2011/12 season. They are based on various factors including past performance, their Opta data, the likelihood of rotation, likelihood of injury and suspension, absence due to the African Nations Cup and finally, our opinion on whether they will rise or fall in fortune over the coming season.

The Projection tables include our prediction for goals, assists, clean sheets, yellow cards, Fantasy Premier League Bonus and Fantasy Premier League points.

Hours have been spent purring over calculations and data and then the Scout team have offered their view on the current standings with final tweaks made today.

These are not our final projections – given that we have had very few pre-season matches to assess formations and starting lineups, changes are inevitable. Only today the impending transfer of Charles N’Zogbia to Villa caused a change in the projections, with N’Zogbia himself tweaked, along with Marc Albrighton and Victor Moses of Wigan.

Such changes will be ongoing. It’s likely will be revised on a daily basis as the pre-season matches and summer transfers create extra variables and influence our thinking. We will of course notify you of any major changes and updates as and when they are implemented.

For now though, enjoy pulling apart this first effort.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hey guys, wondering what people think of this team. The reason there are no main strikers is that after GW3 I'll take out probably Holt or Rodallega and put in RVP as first 3 fixtures aren't great.

    Given (Schwarzer)
A Cole, Gorkss, Kompany, Samba (Distin)
    Lampard, N'Zogbia, Taarabt, Murphy (Jarvis)
    Rodallega, Zamora (Holt)

Looking good, got some really great unigue picks in there. You are lacking a big gun foward though, are you concerned about that? Also your defence might be a little heavy, and Jarvis is too good to be on the bench.

Thanks. After GW3 I'm going to bring in RVP as I don't think the other expensive forwards are either not guaranteed to start or have bad fixtures. Also I think QPR have a good chance of a clean sheet so I'm putting in Gorkss instead of Jarvis.

Hi, havent had many RMT's, thoughts would be appreciated:

    Given Al-Habsi
    Luiz Kompany Hughes Simpson Orr
    O'Hara N'Zog Malouda VDV Moses
    Zamora RVP Rodallega

0.5 mil in the bank. What should I do with it? Can upgrade Simpson or Orr to Bramble? Or can go O'Hara to a 6.5 midfielder. Thoughts?

like most things about it except for maybe having both Zamora & Rodallega...reckon wigan and fulham may lack goals this season. hard to think of other alternatives mind u...Davies, Pavlychenko, Sturridge (if loaned)maybe??

Personally, I'd prefer Alcaraz over Orr or Bramble. But I wouldn't have 2 Wigan attackers...

I think there's something of a question mark over Luiz with Alex in competition.

Absolutely. Couldn't believe the scout's projection. They must think he's going to get crocked. He will take set pieces suited to a left footer and should pick up between 5-10 goals and assists should he get the starts.

    1)
DEF: Kompany Cashley Hangeland/Lescott (Simpson Orr)
MID: VDV N'Zogbia Lampard Moses (Dyer)
    FWD: RVP Rodallega Holt

    2)
DEF: Kompany Lescott Hangeland (Alcaraz Orr)
MID: VDV, Taarabt, Lampard, Sessegnon (Dyer)
    FWD: RVP Rodallega Holt

I'm not sure whether the combination of Cashley, N'Zogbia and Moses will outscore the combo of Lescott, Taarabt and Sessegnon. The other alternative is to not have N'Zogs in option 1 but for that to be Taarabt or Sessegnon instead. That would leave me with 1 mil in the bank left left to upgrade Taarabt/Sessegnon.

    What do you guys reckon?

don't think so. That's what i mean. Basically i want to pick lescott rather than kompany.

I think i will, and if he is benched one day, i'll transfer for kompany... I think he is a hell of a lot more threatening in the final third.

I'm willing to be proved wrong and then use one simple transfer to get kompany in... Hopefully he'll get a few goals before that happens!

im just throwing something new out there as these RMTs begin to look more and more like the same team.

    Charlie Adam.

Remember this guy????? yeah i know hes pricey compared to last year. yeah i know liverpool have about 7 startable mids at the moment.

but, there's no guarantee that gerrard will be ready to start the season. pool denies he could miss the first two months, but that could mean 7 weeks instead of 8? in any sport, you cant take a club for their word about injuries. No gerrard means adam doing what he did at blackpool, dominating set pieces. And guaranteed starts IMO.

So i propose, if gerrard is declared out at the start, Adam is worth his price tag, and should be considered more in these drafts.

What does the rest of the human race think?

i can't speak for the rest of the human race, but me and the other aliens think adam is unlikely to dominate the midfield the way he did at blackpool.. gerrard or no gerrard. There are other set piece takers at liverpool too and definitely other bonus point competitors.

E.g. Would adam be ahead o kuyt on penalties? Adam scored more penalties than anyone else last season so start by deducting that score from his points total if indeed kuyt will take them (which i fully expect)

that being said, how awesome was carroll the first couple months last year. didnt he have something like 10 or 12 straight GWs with at least one goal or assist?

my policy is to pick my regular starters (bug guns) based on overall fictures for the next six games

Then i have one fixed defender (in my case lescott or maybe kompany)

then 4 defenders who rotate well (2 start 2 bench)
and 2 midfielders/ attackers who rotate well (1 start 1 bench)

so the overall fixtures for the benchable players doesn't matter - it's the games they play that matter (their home games mostly)... if one of my benchable players gets injured i'll transfer another similarly rotatable player.

Most of my transfers will be used for the big guns where possible.

Basically it means my weaker players only play the best games, and the stronger players only play runs of good fixtures (except the best of the best who stay throughout)

    Like it?

Well it's the big guns that get you the big points so are a fundamental part of your team.

I like your idea around one base player in defence with 2 rotating defs. I'm doing something similar with my QPR/SWN defs, playing Bad K each week and then one from FUL (good fix) and SUN (cs potential).

I think the key point is to have the best 15 man squad you can get, not 11 or 12 players with 3 ubercheaps just to make up the numbers.

i don't like very cheap players because i think quite often a 5 mil player at home is better than a 6m player away

so i'd rather 5+5 playing home games only than 6+4 with the 6 playing every week and 4 on the bench.

Nani was only rotated from around gwk 33 onwards which happened to coincide with some low scores.

With a plethora of mids at Utd, it becomes the proverbisl minefield for ff. Personally, I wouldn't go near them until we have a clear picture of playing patterns.

Who's up for some early morning RMTs?
    Given Ruddy
    Kompany Alcaraz Bramble Simpson Orr
    Lampard Sessegnon Duff Moses Dyer
    Rooney VanPersie Suarez

3 big guns (4 if you count Suarez, hoping he'll be in good shape to start the season)
Poor defence, but just going to rotate depending on fixtures
Tried to avoid the generic FFS team!
    Any thoughts?

seems like a pretty good team, midfield isn't the best - a few risks but Lampard/Rooney/RVP/Suarez will make up for that.

It's Dyer I'd be most worried about, nothing to stop him being an absolute dud.

Bramble's a defensive and disciplinary liability.

I have drawn up a list of players that haven't been mentioned on this site very much but feel could do well if you want to take a risk.

    Arsenal - Walcott/Vermaelen
    Blackburn - Samba
    Bolton - K Davies
    Chelsea - Kalou, Ivanovic
    Everton - Cahill, Distin
    Fulham - Dempsey
    Liverpool - Kuyt, Skrtel
    Man City - Adam Johnson
    Norwich - Johnson
Stoke - Pennant, Jones (if fit)
    Sunderland - Gordon or Mignolet
    Tottenham - Bale, Lennon
    Wolves - Hunt

Kuyt, if Stevie Me is out for 2 months, could be a very good shout. Pretty certain to be on pens if not the advanced role from last season.

Cahill looks like he has returned to full fitness so keep an eye on him.

I saw some value in Craddock WOL at 4.5 but I don't think he'll start.

...and scandously, where is the Angel of Rangel 👿

everyone has forgotten about cahill. he had a great start all the way up till he played for the Aussies. But if Arteta isnt ready to start the season, i see alot of evertons goals coming from cahill heading in baines' lovely crosses.

Opinions on Bale v VDV this season?

yeah I guess, but Bale is classified as a midfield because he actually plays in midfield now - before it was 50/50 if he would play LM or LB so he wasn't worth having.

Its just a matter of if I could use the extra 2.0 million to upgrade somewhere else but it doesn't really seem like I could so may just go for VDV.

      Prefer Bergovic to Ruddy
Alcaraz for a SWN def so he rotates with Orr
Malouda may be roatated in n out.
Dyer? Questions need to be asked here. Sessegnon, Sinclair, VDD, preferred.
      RVP over Rooney
Suarez probably won't start until wk 2.

I have Barton atm, he did well last season and now with Nolan gone may even get penalties.

I'm not sure about Sinclair - I don't actually like any promoted team players, they always seem to be hyped up and end up frustrating you.

Tabarat could be the only exception to that rule, considering how many assists and goals he got last season.

        Gyan: goal/ 200 mins. Assist/400 mins. [8mil]
        Bent: goal/ 182 mins. Assist/ 1550 mins. [10mil]

1550 mins per assist for a £10 million player... f*** that!

Gyan will improve this season. He's my man to watch out for.
