The first version of our season 2011/12 Player Projections are now available to our Members.

Members will find the Projections for each position by logging on to the Members Area and navigating to the relevant section. Use the top menu bar to view tables by position.

These Projections offer our first attempt at predicting the returns for players over the 2011/12 season. They are based on various factors including past performance, their Opta data, the likelihood of rotation, likelihood of injury and suspension, absence due to the African Nations Cup and finally, our opinion on whether they will rise or fall in fortune over the coming season.

The Projection tables include our prediction for goals, assists, clean sheets, yellow cards, Fantasy Premier League Bonus and Fantasy Premier League points.

Hours have been spent purring over calculations and data and then the Scout team have offered their view on the current standings with final tweaks made today.

These are not our final projections – given that we have had very few pre-season matches to assess formations and starting lineups, changes are inevitable. Only today the impending transfer of Charles N’Zogbia to Villa caused a change in the projections, with N’Zogbia himself tweaked, along with Marc Albrighton and Victor Moses of Wigan.

Such changes will be ongoing. It’s likely will be revised on a daily basis as the pre-season matches and summer transfers create extra variables and influence our thinking. We will of course notify you of any major changes and updates as and when they are implemented.

For now though, enjoy pulling apart this first effort.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Morning chaps. Just had a quick browse through the projections - saw Ivanovic predicted to start most games. Would people agree?

I'd say the projections are blind on this one, in that they don't know how Chelsea will line up this season.

I too have doubts with Ivan vs Cole as the post above.

Tell you what, if Hutton goes to Vila, I'd be tempted to have Cech in goal and Hutton as Villa coverage. Saves .5 that way.

Ok sorry about this, but prepare to be amazed.

    Kenny (Given)

    Kompany, Cole, Samba (Simpson, Rangel)

Silva, Modric, Ben Arfa, McCarthy, Sessegnon

    RVP, Torres (Graham)

I know ben arfa is doubtful but i have enough to time to change it

For GW 1 I have £12m to spend on any striker...can't decide who to go for.

For GW 2 I will use my free to transfer him to Torres/Drogba (after seeing what Chelsea do in GW 1) and then switch to RVP for GW 4.

So who should I start off with for the first week?
Rooney? RVP? A Man City striker? Suarez/Carroll? Anyone else? (I have Bent already)

I'd probably have RVP from the start.

Something like 8 sway goals in a row at the end of last season and Newcastle are hardly one of the best teams in the league.

I'm new to the game but this my squad first draft: RMT please?

    Hart (Ruddy)
    Luiz Cahill Kompany a.cole (shittu)
    Bale Young Taarabt Wilshere (Tiote)
    Suarez Hernandez (beattie)

Thinking about swapping Hernandez for gervinho after his 2 goals against Cologne to free up money for Cahill to swap for Hangeland. Any thoughts?

Too much money on the defence.
      Massive rotation risk on Young/Hernandez.
Must be better options than Beattie and Tiote.
      Bale has poor fixture.

Way too much in defence, I'd go for two 4.0 defenders and Kompany, Cole and maybe a Fulham defender. I'd also consider swapping Hart for Given.

Bale has hard fixtures, I'd only go for VDV from sp*rs. Young not worth the 10m imo. Better value players than Wilshere (Sessegnon/Albrighton or Moses to free up some cash). Tiote won't get you many points, look to upgrade to a more influential player, maybe Hoolahan.

Don't like Hernandez, for 10m you want your top striker to be nailed on, either upgrade to Rooney or wait until Utd's fixtures get a bit easier and go for Bent or RVP.

      Beattie - No. Just no.

What do people think of this? Think I'm finally closing in on my final line-up!

    Given, Al Habsi
    Kompany, Cahill, Enrique, Simpson, Hangeland
    Silva, Downing, N'Zogbia, Moses, Sinclair
    Suarez, RVP, Holt

I have Downing and Suarez because the way I see it, Downing will get assists for Carroll and a few goals of his own, while Suarez will create chances for others and himself, so by having both I cover both eventualities.
I will get rid of Enrique for someone like Jagielka if he doesn't get a transfer, and downgrade Al-Habsi to Ruddy.

    Thoughts appreciated, thanks!

I don't get why he needs to be rested.

      - He was banned before joining Liverpool at the start of the year so had a months rest.
      - When he did join Liverpool there was a month where he only played two games
      - Liverpool will probably not play him in cup games and dont have Europe to worry about so he will get rest then
      - Liverpool payed a lot of money for him and are paying him a lot of money. He is professional and its his job.

    Given - Ruddy
Cole - Baines - Kompany - De Lat - Simpson
    Downing - Nzog - Taarabt - Sinclar - Moses
    RVP - Bent - Holt

      Rubbish 😉

I like it mate, although bit too def heavy for me., I would have only 2 of those three big hitters, but what do I know!

Quite similar to my team, although not sure about both Zog and Bent. I keep swapping Downing in and out, he sems a good buy, but has never lived up to FF promise.....
      Chelsea attacking coverage?

      Who is Ruddy btw?!

Haha I say its like mine and then ask lots of questions-my team is really just a fluid thought atm!

Ha! Nice one mate. You have hit the nail on the head with the Chelsea attacking conundrum. It's been on my mind but not happy when I muck my midfield up for Lamps or Malouda.
Don't fancy Torres at all yet.

Defence I feel let me down last year when I went for cheap cheap cheap so wanted 3 big hitters as the spine, with 2 of em hopefully attacking and getting assists and the odd goal.

Ruddy is cheap Norwich keeper just to sit as I want to play Given

I too keep swapping Downing in and out, convinced he will supply for Carrol. Which brings me too...

Carrol - Bent, keep swapping these too as well.

Riise - Baines. No idea of Riise on free kicks but hoping he will get plenty of assists if Jol is an attacking sort. Then I think of all the points Baines gets and think he has to be squeezed in too lol.

Have looked at putting that 2 million into midfield instead of Moses, would give me 7.5 to spend.
        Nothing stands out.

Im having Bent over Caroll myself, plan to get Suarez in when he is def back.

Im going for Baines as one of my Def atm, if Arteta is out he is one pens and thats gold, but we will see, still a while to go.

I have Malouda in mine but it is tough!Dont see Lamps being worth it myself.

I also have Arfa though and so now I have to rework the whole thing! (otherwise Id just stick my team up!)

Downing may well get into mine, I think he played very well last year and with 2 good strikers and in a better team he could flourish, but he is a bit of a gamble....could end up being a cheap buy though!

Riise is a gamble, I can see why you may consider him, but I am not! I have Moses instead!

Hmmm, what you say about Baines is true and makes me even more determined to stick with him.

B Arfa has never been on the radar f or me.

Looking at Downing and Nzog. They both got into the top 8 mids last year on overall points scored and are much cheaper than others round them, so feel for what you spend its worth having them.

My other option would be to drop Cole to a cheapy to get attacking Chelsea in as you pointed out. But I don't like that idea at all!

One of the problems with picking a side is sticking to your plan and not being swayed by comments on here. It's so easy to do! Great fun.

But there are not the same number of players so averages:

      2011/12: £5.64m per player
      2010/11: £5.5m per player

Slightly more expensive players this year I guess.

RVP...Does everything good for Arsenal (most of the time) and his away scoring record was pretty good at the end of last season...with Newcastle coming up...if I recall he did score against them in that 4-4 result...

Rooney is obviously a good shout too...his overall fixtures may not be as nice as RVPs and that is the one thing that edges RVP ahead for me...

I am thinking about a few Fulham players for the start of the season but does anyone know if the progress in Europe will any of their fixtures be moved? Will the take Europe seriously?

I know this is a bit unfair as its football gossip and not news, but I hope people are more critical and discerning when it comes to what they believe about life and the world in general, than they are about what they believe about football.

Any site, saying anything, without any evidence is taken as true....

    Morning/ Help: Ownership vs Pricing

Can someone (with the patience of a saint) have a go at explaining pricing change during the season... and ideally thoughts on how to monitor it and it's overall significance??

EG I rate Suarez for the season, but as a result of this place I have replaced him with Bent until W3 (for now!)... IF! he has this rest, I reckon a lot of the 'mainstreamers' who have picked him would instantly drop him... what sort of effect on pricing could we expect?? I can't recall how quickly prices change??

    Cheers!
ps I can obviously go away and look up rules, but is there an old article/ potential for new article RE: Pricing fluctuations & strategy?

I think he'll play 2nd fiddle this season and play home games vs easier opposition.

He's 3rd choice in the pecking order, and rarely starts in tbe big games, and will play even less in the easy games this season. Can't see him being worth it

They're both quite cute. I think Nasri edges it, theres something about that smile that makes him irresistible.

Yes. And at 4.5 is good value for money.

If you're not convinced on Bramble you can get Alcaraz instead. Wigan's first three fixtures look very nice.

    RMT please -

    Kenny (Given)
    Baines A.Cole Kompany (Simpson)(Wilkinson)
    Lampard Sinclair Taarabt Moses (Dyer)
    Carroll Bent Zamora

I like the 3 expensive defenders and dont want to change them, any thoughts on the rest of the team would be appriciated?

Why so quick to put an end to your team naming exploits?

You have a real talent for it, it would be a shame to waste it.

is that your fpl name? i wonder when they threaten to erase your account if your name is inappropriate if they let stuff like that slide. thats why yours is even better!! You can just say, hey i like these players and im recommending them to everyone else 🙂
