Aston Villa have this afternoon confirmed the club have reached an agreement with Wigan Athletic for the transfer of Charles N’Zogbia.

In a brief statement released through their official site, the club have also added:

We will now discuss personal terms with the player and arrange a medical, with a view to completing the transfer later this week.

As mentioned in our N’Zogbia article earlier today, this move will be of significant interest to Fantasy managers.

Villa have the kindest run of opening fixtures this upcoming season, with their first seven games reading (ful, BLA, WOL, eve, NEW, qpr, WIG) and their players will be subject to plenty Fantasy investment as a result.

Having lost the services of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing this summer, Alex McLeish has added to strengthen his depleted options on the wings and if his formation in Villa’s previous game with Walsall is anything to go by, a 4-2-3-1 may be the favoured shape next term.

At present, this could well see N’Zogbia on the left and Marc Alrighton our right- the move does not necessarily diminish Albrighton’s likely number of starts, though priced at 7.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), N’Zogbia is a proven Fantasy favourite and looks good to take advantage of those opening Villa matches.

For Wigan, this also looks like propelling Victor Moses into Fantasy manager’s thoughts. Roberto Martinez’s side play the three promoted sides in their first three matches (NOR, swa, QPR) and Moses, priced at just 5.0, looks the likely beneficiary for the Latics. Moses’ price certainly reflects the limited game time he’s racked up since moving from Crystal Palace but that opening trio of games could see him sneak under many radars- providing Martinez affords him the platform to prove himself.

A Great Expectations article on N’Zogbia and Moses will follow shortly.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I wouldn't have Ruddy, Norwich were an awful team defensively in the championship and it's not like they'll be getting any better now. If they get a cs it'll be more luck based than anything.

It's giving the opinion of someone who has no connection to LFC or Uruguay. Which is fine, it's not necessarily something I'd disagree with - he could very well be given a week or two extra.

But it's no assertation of fact, and neither is your opinion.

New to FFS and only started FPL last week after gameweek 3. Saw someone post about shorting the most owned players on the assumption that they would be the most transferred out and therefore cheaper than current prices. Is this a legitimate strategy?

I guess my main question is do prices change based on how much a player is selected at the outset(Suarez getting the biggest bump) or only based on transfer movement after the first week?

    Thanks.

But yes, for the uninformed to see him at £9.5m it's unsurprising to see a giant pile on given his calibre. He's basically the cheapest starting striker from any of the top five clubs - Score! (once he starts playing).

    Silva Malouda Moses Taarabt Tiote
    RVP Drogba Zamora

    RVP - Bent in gw2

whats teh deal with wilkinson, if hes not starting then i could have another 4.0 like Orr.

Drogba has an awesome run, should i keep him or is malouda good enough cover and i can perhaps have bent in there and Odemwingie after gw2 and use the funds to upgrade the mids.

There may well be no definite answer. Very possible, for, example, that Torres will start one and Drogba the other.

Can't see either of them being nailed on until Drogba goes off to the African Cup of nations (assuming that he does?).

Just had a thought. Lampard & Rodallega for first 3 GWs (amazing fixtures). Then swap to RVP & a mid-price midfielder, options could be Brunt, Tchoyi, Sessegnon, Ben Arfa (if he's back) as all these teams have decent fixtures from GW4 particularly WBA. What do you reckon?

Your defence could be problematic if Rafael doesn't nail down the RB spot and Drogba isn't assured of his place either so you might want to downgrade him and get another good defender, maybe just to Bent from the off.

I wasn't saying that Rafael wont get the RB spot, just that if he doesn't that guy will be left with with two out of Hughes Simspon and Wilkinson.

      4/10

Risky defence with so many who havent secured their spots.

      And Tioté and Maxi????

The unfaashionable darren bent is a vrry sensible second striker choice imo.
Always starts the season well and villa good fixtures.
Let the others jump on the foreign bandwagons , and stick to the proven premier performers

RMT please as well (with commentary)
I am only worying about the first 6 weeks or so as I plan to use my WC fairly early. If I don't then that's a bonus.
    Will play 343
    GKs: Given - Kenny
Best rotation for early fixtures and both good value

Defs: Baines - Kompany - Orr - Simpson - Ward (Nor)
Baines is like an extra midfielder with the possibility of clean sheets just a bonus, Kompany is good value and the other 3 a re all 4.0's that rotate well and I hope will play. Might change 1/2 of them to Briggs, Naughton or Wilkinson if I think they will play

Mids: Yaya - Taarabt - NZog - Sessegnon - Hoolahan
Yaya to cover City for 1st fixture: can't afford Silva although Yaya scored about the same last year and the new BP method suits his all action style, NZog /Taraabt obvious, Sessegnon I think will do well: had him pencilled in since last season, Hoolahan: because he rotates well with the others

Fwds: Torres - RVP - Zamora

Torres: for Chelsea's good fixtures early on and he is nailed on to start (Malouda not nailed on, Lamps not good value and set to play deeper this year), RVP:first name on my teamsheet (perma cpt),Zamora: will hit the ground running and Fulham have good fixtures (got 0.5 spare to switch to Odem after first two games)

    Sounds OK? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Just a thought: Lamps started out on the right in the latest preseason, I believe. Not sure he'll be pushed back ...

And 'yes', I currently have him penciled in 🙂

Just reading into what Lamps said last night / today:

"Of course you do adapt your play depending on who is around you. It depends on the discipline of the players around you, the type of players they are.

'If they are more attacking players like a Malouda you maybe play a bit deeper"

A lot of unknowns with regards to regulars in your defence, Maxi probably wont get a regular spot either and Tiote is just turd with regard to getting any points.

Incredible low Chelsea attacking ownership currently reflecting the rotation mess it could be bar for all prob bar Lampard.

Frank Lampard current ownership - 3.6%. That kind of captain week 2 & 3 is massively tempting. Would also be very hard for most to get in without a hit if he did fire week 2 -3

I can leave 2mil in the kitty for a Kuyt to Lampard week 2 switch.

Albrighton over N zogbia is whats bothering me if he can match the French man.

will yaya be in that attacking mid role just behind the striker? am very tempted to captain him
    Team will be (plus reasons)
Given FUL (A) (Irish legend and is there a better fpl value keeper out there?)
Lescott SWA (H)Kompany SWA (H)(Sure starters in city's defence esp with kolo injured)Cole A STO (A)(maybe downgraded to luiz after week 2 after chelsea lineup known)
Moses (fixtures parting of the blue sea after nzog gone)McCarthy (fixtures and a creative wigan player often overlooked on these boards) Lampard (can later be downgraded)Malouda (just gambling that he starts..and like last season)yaya (fpl captain v swansea)
Bent(goals fixtures) Zamora (match fit from europe) Subs Briggs simpson cox

Can you afford Silva over Yaya? Silva will be in the creative central attacking midfield role in my opinion.

On the home page here they have the "Next six ticker".
I like the format ,is there another place here, or on another site where there might be a "full season ticker" table in a similiar quick to read format?
