Our Player Projections available in the Members’ Area are being updated on a regular basis as the pre-season rolls on and events such as Barton’s fallout and the arrival of Sergio Aguero move the goalposts.

If you’re new to the site – these tables represent the Scout’s predicted returns for Premier League players in terms of goals, assists, clean sheets and several statistics relevant to the Fantasy Premier League game. They can be accessed in the Members Area right here.

There’s been a lot of tweaks over the past 48-hours so, to help our Members get a handle on the changes made, you can read on for a list of the recent activity. You can expect further tweaks to the Projections over the coming days and certainly following the weekend’s final bout of friendly matches.

Arsenal

Increased Aaron Ramsey’s starts and overall projection.

Aston Villa
Another clean sheet added to Villa’s defence and midfield to take Villa on to a predicted 12 clean sheets for the season.

Blackburn

Bolton
Added Tyrone Mears Projection. Reduce Greter Steinsson and Sam Ricketts as a result.
Added Chris Eagles and Nigel Reo Coker. Full revision of Bolton’s midfield projections following the injury to Chung Yong Lee. Mark Davies’ projection in particular, has been boosted.

Jermaine Beckford’s starts and overall projection increased. Louis Saha’s starts and projection reduced accordingly.

Fulham

Liverpool
Reduced Jamie Carragher’s starts and projection. Increased Dan Agger’s accordingly.
Slightly reduced Luis Suarez starts and projection.

Man City
Corrected error with Lescott’s starts and projection – these have now been increased.
Sergio Aguero added to the Forwards. Mario Baltotelli and Edin Dzeko projections tweaked accordingly. Carlos Tevez starts and projection reduced slightly.

Man United
Slight tweaks to the projections of Rafael, Fabio, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez , Tom Cleverley and Dimitar Berbatov.

Newcastle
Joey Barton’s projection cut while his future is decided. A full revision of the Newcastle midfield has been made as a result.
Reduced starts and projection for Leon Best. Slight tweaks to Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi.

Norwich City
Reduced Elliot Ward starts and projection increased Zak Whitebread accordingly.

QPR
Reduced Kasper Gorkss starts and projections. Revised the defence as a result.
Added Kieron Dyer to midfield.

Sunderland
Slight revision to the defence.
Increased Stephane Sessengon goals and overall projection in the light of his pre-season form and continued role up front.

Swansea City
Jose Moreira replaces Yves Ma Kalambay as the goalkeeper option. Added Wayne Routledge to midfield and reduced starts for Nathan Dyer and Stephen Dobbie accordingly.

Tottenham
Slight tweaks to the midfield and forward projections.

West Brom
Added Ben Foster to replace Boaz Myhill as goalkeeper – saves and Bonus increased.
Removed Gonzalo Jara’s starts with Steven Reid/Billy Jones sharing the right-back role.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Haha, fair enough! It's pretty hard to predict these things accurately is all I'm saying, I'd be fairly sure that Torres, Lampard Rooney etc were way down on expectations last season while Adam, Nani, Baines etc were higher than expected

I guess they feel he will be rotated with Valencia and Young. Personally I feel one of those three will be reduced to sub appearances/cup starts and the other two will start most premiership games. If I was Fergie it wouldn't be Nani who missed out, but I'm not so who knows?

Hi Guys. I would appreciate it if I could perhaps get some RMT's up in here. I am extremely close to final team.

    Given/Ruddy
    A.Cole,Kompany,Bramble,Simpson,Gabbidon
    Malouda,Silva,Sinclair,O'Hara,Moses
    Carrol,Zamora,Torres/Aguero/Bent

    1) Who do I choose between torres aguero and bent?
    2) is Gabbidon my best 2nd 4.0 option?
    3) Any obvious changes or faults that you see?

    Please and Thank You!.

      2) Iv also gone we Gabbidon as 5th defender and rota's well with sunderland-newcastle also

      3) For me a stong team not sure about Carroll at the price or Malouda

        3) I don't really have other options right now. Will look into Carrol --> RVP as well as Malouda --> Arsenal Midfield for gw4

Have you checked out the EA stats from last season? Bonuses for midfield will be dominated by goalscorers - Silva was nowhere near the top of the EA stats, in fact was significantly behind 4 of his team-mates (on around the same points as Gareth Barry) not sure how he is going to rack up many bonus points on those stats.

Bonuses are not the be all and end all of points scoring and I am not sure anyone really knows how the allocation is going to pan out.

I seem to remember it took Silva about half a season to fully acclimatise to the Premier League and towards the end of the season he looked very good indeed, scoring particularly well when Tevez wasn't playing.

I expect him to hit the ground running this season, and (fingers crossed) this will be rewarded by shedloads of luverly fantasy points.

I know AVB tried Benayoun out in the front three in preseason but I think he is more likely to play in midfield, taking Essien's place (if he plays at all) perhaps in a more advanced role then Essien with Lamps deeper.

We're not totally clear on Chelsea's formation or where Malouda will be played. If they go with 4-3-3 then Malouda could be up against Sturridge, Kalou and Anelka for a flank role so, for me, he's got competition. Less so if he plays as part of the midfield in a 4-4-2 but it's far from certain that's where he'll lineup.

We will update again after the weekend - the jury is very much out on Chelsea's setup.

If you look at the amount of points people amassed last year then in order to get into a decent position in the standings you need to use effective rotation.

I added up the sum of the points for the top 11 players last season and worked out that I only had about 15 points less than I would have had if I had that 11 in my team all season (discounting captain). The thing is I just missed out on the top 250k, which isn't great.

Even accounting for an extra 200 points for captaincy I wouldn't have made the top 20k from what I remember, which goes to show you need to use effective squad rotation if you are aiming to challenge in the upper echelons.

I think B) Graham and Taarabt makes a lot more sense since you will only be wanting to play one of the two each week. Their fixtures definitely rotate well hence why a lot of people are going for the pricier Taarabt and Sinclair combo.

Norwich and Swansea's fixtures do not rotate as smoothly as QPR and Swansea.

Not sure Brown will start; Pennant will be competing with Etherington for set pieces/bonus, and Stoke have some nasty fixtures early doors so might want to consider someone else (Albrighton perhaps, the obligatory Taraabt or Sess, Larsson, Duff, O'Hara for example. Krancjar will be a steal at 6m if Modric leaves). Not sure about Aguero, but if he starts against the Swans then he's definitely worth a punt.

Does this GK - DEF pairing have any merit to it? I'm very strongly considering it to avoid just being another stock standard FFS RMT template involving Given, Ruddy & A.Cole.

    Cech (De Vries)
Clichy - Kompany - Enrique (Brown - Orr)
Malouda - Taarabt - Sessegnon - Sinclair (Moses)
    RVP - Bent - Zamora

Cech/Clichy combo can be replaced by:
    De Gea/Luiz
    De Gea/Lescott

or raise an extra 0.5 and get:
    Cech/Lescott
    Cech/Luiz
    Hart/Luiz

Food for thought over the same old Given - Ruddy - A.Cole scenario?

I like your team. If you are going down the expensive GK route, I wouldn't go de Gea because of United's fixtures. I wouldn't go Luiz either unless AVB announces he's nailed on. So that leaves you with Cech Clichy. Personally I prefer Lescott which you could do by downgrading one of your mids; Sess to O'Hara for example.

Thanks for the projections. I am just having a look now.

I think I have spotted a mistake though. I think you may have reversed the stats fro Drogba and Anelka. You only have Dorgba down for 9 starts, but 25 for Anelka.

I guess because Anelka will play wide right and it's either/or for Drogba and Torres.

Brilliant post from about this time last year!

    Goalkeepers:
    ===========
    1) Do you have 2 x £4.5m keepers who rotate well home and away?
Yes: Team Approved ———No: Start again
    2) Do you have any Goalkeeper over £6m coupled with any goalkeeper less than £4.5m?
Yes: Start again. ———No: Carry on, but see question 1 (above)
    Defenders:
    =========
    1) Do you have more than 2 x £5.5m defenders?
Yes: Too much spent on defence, start again ——– No: Carry on
    2) Does your defence contain any players from the following teams; Blackpool, Arsenal, Liverpool or Wigan?
Yes: Start again ——–No: Carry on
    3) Have you spent more than £6.0m on any defender not called Ashley Cole?
Yes: Start again (See’ too much money on defence’ argument, above) ——– No: Carry on, but see rule 1 regarding more than two expensive defenders
    4) Does your defence have one of these two untested £4.5m cheapies: Al Muhammadi or Van Damme?
Yes; Team approved ———– No: Start again. You must have one of these two. Its the law.
    Midfielders:
    ==========
    1) Does your midfield NOT contain at least one of the following: Lampard, Fabregas, Arteta?
Yes: Definitely start again ——– No: Carry on
    2) Does your midfield contain the M Petrov from Bolton (NOT the M Petrov from Aston Villa)?
Yes: Carry on ——— No: Start again
    3) Does your midfield NOT contain Lampard, Fabregas or Arteta but DOES contain Gerrard?
Yes: Start again (Have you seen their opening fixtures?) ——– No: Rule 1 still applies. Start again.
    Forwards:
    ========
    1) Do you have Drogba?
Yes: Team Approved ———– No: Carry on, but see the next question.
    2) Do you have Van Persie or Rooney instead of Drogba?
Yes: Carry on, but you should really have Drogba though! ——- No: Please give up playing fantasy football as you clearly don’t have a clue.
    3) Is your cheap >£6.5m forward Boselli instead of Doyle?
Yes: Start again ——– No: Carry on
    4) Do I have a Blackpool Striker on my bench?
Yes; Start again ————- No: Team approved
    Generic Team Question
    =================
    1) Do I have any Liverpool players at all, in any position, on my team?
Yes: Start again (See ‘have you seen their first five fixtures’ argument above) —– No: Team approved, subject to fulfilling all other criteria above.

    Given (ruddy)
    Gabbidon, Huth, Kompany (Briggs, Orr)
    Young, Tarrabt, Silva, Downing (Sessignon)

Is Aguero risky at this early stage? Would Drogba/Bent be better options?

Ive never really posted an RMT, Im a little annoyed with it to be honest. But ive been looking at my team for ages now, trying to view it from a different angle. Not happening. Do help.

    Cech (Ruddy)
    Kompany, Enrique, Hughes (Orr, Simpson)
    Silva, Taarabt, N'Zogbia, Moses (Dyer)
    Rooney, Bent, Rodallega.

+ 3.0 mill in the bank. (1.0 for Silva > Malouda and 2.0 for Bent > RVP)

Is there too much AVL, WIG?

      Good team though, nice balance.

Looks not too dissimilar to mine. I would probably not have both Wigan players, although it could be very successful given their opening trio of games. Options would be Rodallega to Zamora or perhaps Nzogbia to Downing. If Suarez looks set to line up in GW1 you could also consider Bent to Surez.

      Good team though, nice balance.

I am not really a fan of the expensive keeper either so I have Given in goal and A Cole instead of Hughes.

I would do Rodallega to Zamora. Chech to De Gea(or change both GK to something cheaper) and make Nzog to Malouda. Also I would rather own a Arsenal defender( Gibbs or Jagielka if they buy him) instead of Enrique.

Wow! I know that us "Members" should not be discussing the projections out loud, but Drogba is listed at only 9 starts! 9! Nine starts...for the entire year.

I know that we are supposed to think for ourselves here, but the clunking sound that you just heard was Drogba being unceremoniously removed from my roster.

Said earlier that Chelsea lineup is possibly the most difficult to predict but I just can't see Torres and Drogba starting together too often. Then it comes down to who Villas-Boas backs and whether Torres, when he starts, can take his chance. If he does, then I think Drogba will be an impact sub for much of the season.

Scouts, why so optimistic with Sinclair? 156 seems a lot for Sinclair, 11 goals aswell. I haven't really seen him play a lot but wasn't he on loan at Wigan the season before last and he only managed 1 goal. Has he improved that much?

Lita’s signing today may change matters and we may tweak Sinclair as a result but, before that, he was going into the season as Swansea’s main goal threat and spot-kick taker.

When we looked at their lineup and source of goals for this season he looks the most likely along with Danny Graham. Other sources look limited – few goals in central midfield, little from Dyer and Dobbie far from a certain starter. Of course, if Swansea really struggle and fail to hit the 40+ goal mark then it will be a different story but only Birmingham scored less than 40 goals last term.
