Our Player Projections available in the Members’ Area are being updated on a regular basis as the pre-season rolls on and events such as Barton’s fallout and the arrival of Sergio Aguero move the goalposts.

If you’re new to the site – these tables represent the Scout’s predicted returns for Premier League players in terms of goals, assists, clean sheets and several statistics relevant to the Fantasy Premier League game. They can be accessed in the Members Area right here.

There’s been a lot of tweaks over the past 48-hours so, to help our Members get a handle on the changes made, you can read on for a list of the recent activity. You can expect further tweaks to the Projections over the coming days and certainly following the weekend’s final bout of friendly matches.

Arsenal
Reduced Cesc Fabregas’ starts and overall projection.
Increased Aaron Ramsey’s starts and overall projection.

Aston Villa
Another clean sheet added to Villa’s defence and midfield to take Villa on to a predicted 12 clean sheets for the season.

Blackburn
Ryan Nelsen’s starts reduced – Gael Givet and Grant Hanley’s increased accordingly.

Bolton
Added Tyrone Mears Projection. Reduce Greter Steinsson and Sam Ricketts as a result.
Added Chris Eagles and Nigel Reo Coker. Full revision of Bolton’s midfield projections following the injury to Chung Yong Lee. Mark Davies’ projection in particular, has been boosted.

Chelsea
Full revision over the squad.
Frank Lampard’s overall projection reduced as a result of his recent deep lying role pre-season.
Youssi Benayoun’s starts and overall projection increased as a result of his pre-season form.

Everton
Mikel Arteta’s starts and overall projection decreased.
Victor Anichbe’s starts and overall projection increased.
Jermaine Beckford’s starts and overall projection increased. Louis Saha’s starts and projection reduced accordingly.

Fulham
Full revision over the squad
Added Marcel Gecov and Pajim Kasami to Fulham’s midfield.

Liverpool
Reduced Jamie Carragher’s starts and projection. Increased Dan Agger’s accordingly.
Slightly reduced Luis Suarez starts and projection.

Man City
Corrected error with Lescott’s starts and projection – these have now been increased.
Sergio Aguero added to the Forwards. Mario Baltotelli and Edin Dzeko projections tweaked accordingly. Carlos Tevez starts and projection reduced slightly.

Man United
Slight tweaks to the projections of Rafael, Fabio, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez , Tom Cleverley and Dimitar Berbatov.

Newcastle
Joey Barton’s projection cut while his future is decided. A full revision of the Newcastle midfield has been made as a result.
Reduced starts and projection for Leon Best. Slight tweaks to Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi.

Norwich City
Reduced Elliot Ward starts and projection increased Zak Whitebread accordingly.

QPR
Reduced Kasper Gorkss starts and projections. Revised the defence as a result.
Added Kieron Dyer to midfield.

Sunderland
Slight revision to the defence.
Increased Stephane Sessengon goals and overall projection in the light of his pre-season form and continued role up front.

Swansea City
Jose Moreira replaces Yves Ma Kalambay as the goalkeeper option. Added Wayne Routledge to midfield and reduced starts for Nathan Dyer and Stephen Dobbie accordingly.

Tottenham
Slight tweaks to the midfield and forward projections.

West Brom
Added Ben Foster to replace Boaz Myhill as goalkeeper – saves and Bonus increased.
Removed Gonzalo Jara’s starts with Steven Reid/Billy Jones sharing the right-back role.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

For starters just how committed is he to QPR? PSG came in for him & it was rebuffed. He doesn't come across as a grafter, dig deep & grind a result out.

        Prefer Sinclair to Taarabt.

Yeah I have same worries that his head might not be in the right place. I am not sold on Sinclair at the moment tbh, none of the promoted players have turned my head yet.

But then you do have the bonus of set pieces with both and we seen how Adam returned with those last season.

Bit risky filling out your team with promoted players who have no/little Premiership experience.

We're all hedging our bets for next seasons Adam. Ultimately we wont know for a few weeks.

    Given, Ruddy
    Cole, Kompany, Simpson
2 from Hughes, Bramble, Baines, Orr, Enrique

    Moses
4 from Malouda, N'Zogbia, Taarabt, Sinclair, O'Hara, Sessegnon, Silva, Lampard, VDV

    1 from RVP & Rooney
2 from RVP, Rooney, Suarez, Holt, Carroll, Bent, Zamora

Doesn't seem as bad as hearing the number ... especially as the starters are pretty reliable week-in, week-out players. But god forbid you need a bench ...

But fairplay to you - early days, if you've chosen right, you'll likely not need to go to the sub bench.

My team similar except I have Rooney for your RVP.

I suppose the point I'm trying to make is they wont all harvest points like Adam did last season. Some will inevitably fail to perform on the big stage. Leaving us cursing.

3 is the max, imo, to put in a week 1 team. Gambling for points/value increases is a 'good' side-bet ... especially if they are largely subs.

Five, though, to me is absolutely reckless. No offense, junkie - I just can't sleep with that amount of risk.

West Brom could be tighter at the back this year under Hodgson, and Blackburn actually had a decent home defensive record last year. It really depends on how stuck you are for funds

You can be reasonably sure of what you're getting with a Blackburn, WBA or Wigan defender.

The same can't be said of untested players in the top flight.

You can be reasonably sure you're buying into a defence with a large bus-shaped hole in it. Why not just buy the cheaper equally rubbish option.

    A: Given - Kenny - Cole
    B: Cech - De Vries - Clichy

Second option secures an extra ManCity Clean sheet along with Kompany. Considering Cech scored the same as Cole last season, it seems reasonable.

Chelsea boss likes his fullbacks getting forward. A lot.

Doubling up with players from the same defence can make you look like a genius. However, if/when that defence concede, you'll be kicking yourself.

I get you Churchill, but I can see Chelsea & ManCity being the top defences again this year, and to have 3 representatives from them for the same price as 2 and a villa/QPR combo sounds sensible.

I'm thinking more about Drogba: he would probably get the nod against Stoke, and he'll be keen to stake his place... same price as Malouda too, so you could leave him out of the midfield and you're half way to having a non-generic side.

    Al Habsi (Given)
    Jagielka, Luiz, Kompany (Enrique) (Simpson)
    Moses, Malouda, Silva, N'Zogbia (Ferguson)
    Suarez, Rodallega, Aguero

Again, I'm steering clear of Newcastle, in particular the defence as I feel like they're gonna drop points all over the shop. I'd personally switch him for Orr or another 4.0.

      Ferguson wont play
      Luiz is a rotation risk
Suarez might miss the first week or 2
I probably wont look at Aguero for a week or 2 either til i see how well/often hes playing

Don't ask how I got here but I'm experiencing a bit of Norwich overkill

Think I need to lose either Ruddy or De Laet
    Current GK and Def is

    Ruddy, Given
De Laet, Orr, Hughes, Baines, Bosingwa(depending on likelihood of a start) May switch him to Kompany or Clichy

Anyway, best replacement at either position for 4.0 ideally? 4.5 if I really have to..
I feel like Newcastles a lost cause and thus am ruling out Simpson
And I'm a bit iffy on a Swansea back..

    Ideas?

      Team looks OK.

I'd lose De Laet personally. I would swap him to Simpson from Newcastle. Rest of defence looks ok, apart from Bosingwa, have a feeling he won't see too much game time.

Norwich fan here. I wouldn't get any of our defence. Look at the stats from last season.

      Clean Sheets 11

I don't understand why everyone is going nuts over Ruddy, although he is a good keeper.

However our attacking players are defo worth a look we were the highest scoring team in the league. Particually Holt and O'Hoolahan. The are both on set pieces and will pick up bonus points no doubt.
Also worth looking if you want a cheap defender is Russel Martin. He got five goals last campagn and I think he'll do just as well in the premier.

I love that there are no sure 'big hitters' this year. Its going to be interesting. It was so boring when tactic no1. was get Ronaldo, Lampard and Gerrard and captain Ronaldo.

As for everyone looking for 'this years Adam'. I don't think it exists. There will be a cheaper player who does well, it happens every year but last year was extreme.

I suppose people are still looking to Lampard, RVP and Rooney as their captain reliable.
Funny, this time last year Rooney couldn't hit the broadside of a barn door but that all seems to be forgotten now. I also wonder if the revamped bonus points system will affect his usual golden-boy bp allocation.

I agree. I think he will play the deep lying forward to support Hernandez even more this year than he did last year. I recon he'll get less assists than last year as the united midfield has been strengthened by the return of Valencia and obviously by the signing of young.

Would the players with a high "team selected by %" automatically appreciate on Day 1? Or would Day 1 be the baseline for appreciation? So would the price of Suarez at 39% ownership jump from 9.5 to 10 in week 1, or would the 39% be the new baseline for future appreciation?

No. It starts from scratch on day 1. So from then on Suarez would need roughly 30,000 net-transfers-in to rise in price

    Any advice welcomed.

    Given (Ruddy)

Cole, Kompany, Rafael (Alcaraz, S Taylor)

VDV, Sinclair, Eagles, (Moses, K Dyer)

    Suarez, Van Persie, Bent

Rotating Moses in midfield and Alcaraz and Taylor into defense.

Any better advice on a 4.5 midfielder?

Think there's too many risks in midfield or do you think it's justified by the strikers?

Hoolahan is worth a punt at 5.5. He get set pieces and is a goal scoring midfielder. He'll draw bonus points to.

Although I am a Norwich fan so probably a little biased 🙂

Thanks, I think Eagles will be on set pieces this year and that Bolton will be relying quite heavily on Davies now then Elmander has gone.

Best defensive option for West Brom?
Doesn't look like I can afford Foster and after GW2 they're looking at some decent fixtures

Hey guys, what do you think Chelsea's defence will be Vs. Stoke GW1?

    A. Cole, Terry, Luiz, Bosingwa is what I'm thinking, but im interested to hear what you guys think.

Also, who do you think will be City's strikers?

I'd say Ivanovic instead of Boswinga. Id say it most likely will be Aguero on his own but it's impossible to guess really isn't it.

Hey guys I'm looking for suggestions for alternatives to VDV.
Given Sir Alex's recent comments about Young looking like a starter on the left he seems like a strong candidate.
    Any thoughts?

He's a good gamble right now, imo.

But, you'll need to be prepared for his non-start, i.e. a decent sub. But I agree that SAF will give Young an early start and Young will be looking to impress.

Sneijder might change the reckoning, though 😉

He's an expensive gamble at 10m though. Also ManU's early fixtures are tough which combined with Uniteds usual slow start put me off.
I just get the feeling that he'll step up massively due to playing in a better team. I'm just not sure how that will translate to fantasy terms.
