Our Player Projections available in the Members’ Area are being updated on a regular basis as the pre-season rolls on and events such as Barton’s fallout and the arrival of Sergio Aguero move the goalposts.

If you’re new to the site – these tables represent the Scout’s predicted returns for Premier League players in terms of goals, assists, clean sheets and several statistics relevant to the Fantasy Premier League game. They can be accessed in the Members Area right here.

There’s been a lot of tweaks over the past 48-hours so, to help our Members get a handle on the changes made, you can read on for a list of the recent activity. You can expect further tweaks to the Projections over the coming days and certainly following the weekend’s final bout of friendly matches.

Arsenal
Reduced Cesc Fabregas’ starts and overall projection.
Increased Aaron Ramsey’s starts and overall projection.

Aston Villa
Another clean sheet added to Villa’s defence and midfield to take Villa on to a predicted 12 clean sheets for the season.

Blackburn
Ryan Nelsen’s starts reduced – Gael Givet and Grant Hanley’s increased accordingly.

Bolton
Added Tyrone Mears Projection. Reduce Greter Steinsson and Sam Ricketts as a result.
Added Chris Eagles and Nigel Reo Coker. Full revision of Bolton’s midfield projections following the injury to Chung Yong Lee. Mark Davies’ projection in particular, has been boosted.

Chelsea
Full revision over the squad.
Frank Lampard’s overall projection reduced as a result of his recent deep lying role pre-season.
Youssi Benayoun’s starts and overall projection increased as a result of his pre-season form.

Everton
Mikel Arteta’s starts and overall projection decreased.
Victor Anichbe’s starts and overall projection increased.
Jermaine Beckford’s starts and overall projection increased. Louis Saha’s starts and projection reduced accordingly.

Fulham
Full revision over the squad
Added Marcel Gecov and Pajim Kasami to Fulham’s midfield.

Liverpool
Reduced Jamie Carragher’s starts and projection. Increased Dan Agger’s accordingly.
Slightly reduced Luis Suarez starts and projection.

Man City
Corrected error with Lescott’s starts and projection – these have now been increased.
Sergio Aguero added to the Forwards. Mario Baltotelli and Edin Dzeko projections tweaked accordingly. Carlos Tevez starts and projection reduced slightly.

Man United
Slight tweaks to the projections of Rafael, Fabio, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez , Tom Cleverley and Dimitar Berbatov.

Newcastle
Joey Barton’s projection cut while his future is decided. A full revision of the Newcastle midfield has been made as a result.
Reduced starts and projection for Leon Best. Slight tweaks to Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi.

Norwich City
Reduced Elliot Ward starts and projection increased Zak Whitebread accordingly.

QPR
Reduced Kasper Gorkss starts and projections. Revised the defence as a result.
Added Kieron Dyer to midfield.

Sunderland
Slight revision to the defence.
Increased Stephane Sessengon goals and overall projection in the light of his pre-season form and continued role up front.

Swansea City
Jose Moreira replaces Yves Ma Kalambay as the goalkeeper option. Added Wayne Routledge to midfield and reduced starts for Nathan Dyer and Stephen Dobbie accordingly.

Tottenham
Slight tweaks to the midfield and forward projections.

West Brom
Added Ben Foster to replace Boaz Myhill as goalkeeper – saves and Bonus increased.
Removed Gonzalo Jara’s starts with Steven Reid/Billy Jones sharing the right-back role.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm going with him. He's a journeyman player anyway who's moved plenty of times. He has premiership pedigree and has just arrived after his best ever season in a very poor team.

I think he'll do well this season if if Villa dont

It has been for me - I find this site invaluable for information in the pre season. I tend not to use is as much once the season starts, until the Jan transfer window and I need some information on players I have not seen myself.

Yeah, there's been quite a build-up of anticipation etc, and I think the community is pretty tight at the moment. I guess that's all the hanging-out off-season.

But yeah, the new FPL, Mark working hard behind the scenes.

I'm also pleased to say that the predictions of everyone on the planet joining up don't seem to have come true. Wonder if we'll see teams linked again.

I think we will see teams linked again, ultimately your rivals already know your team from the previous week and unless you're going to shout your transfers from the rooftops I don't see why it matters.

I've already told one of my rivals my entire team. I don't think it gives him much of an advantage, and he's not gonna copy me straight.

In fact, I'd prefer to help everyone build their teams (pointing out obvious mistakes, suggesting players) so that everyone enjoys it more.

Is anyone else thinking that Tom Cleverly could be a bit of a dark horse this season when the usual big transfer saga ends with Sneijder not arriving at Old Trafford.

Seems to me that UTD have a void in thge creativity department that I would only think Anderson or Cleverly would fill at the moment.

Not saying he's going to be nailed on starter, but he could well get a good few appearances and pick up a good few points in the process.

Traditionally Fergie has prefered 4-4-2 with box-to-box style mids and creation coming from the wingers. I think that will be the same this season perhaps with a 4-4-1-1, with Rooney just behind Hernandez and helping out in midfield when necessary.

Does wilshire play in a similar role as Flamani did a few years back? I remember everyone on this site saying flamani wasn't worth 6.5 back in the day because he played "too deep" but then he started scoring, assisting and getting bonus and he started to come into peoples teams, same goes with Yaya Toure last season, everyone said he would play too deep to be worth it.

Does Wilshire really have no chance of picking up assists and goals or are people just copying what everyone else says?

thats a bargain for an attacking arsenal player.

Benayoun at 7.0 is a bargain, Suarez at 9.5 is a bargain in a team thats not very stable.

I think Wilshire predominantly plays deeper in tandem with Song (who gets forward more than you'd expect). Wilshire may pop up with the odd goal but his position does appear to be more of a ball-winner role, allowing for the trickery/vision of Nasri and Fab's excellent passing further up the field.

Also with Song's desire to get forward he can often be seen covering.

Last season Yaya was often the furthest midfielder forward, in fact with Mancini's more defensive tactics his average position was almost as far forward as Tevez in away games.

I agree with CBC concerning Ramsey (With the caveat that Wenger doesn't move Nasri into the centre- arguably his best position)

Absolutely nobody else seems to have Eagles in their team? Does this make me an idiot for choosing him instead of Moses?

Just seems like a safer option with the possibility of a downgrade if Moses comes out firing on all cylinders.

I can't see any other 5.5 midfielders who I'd want in there.

I imagine the reason there isn't much interest is because his opening fixtures are horrible, whereas Moses' are good and he's cheaper. I'm vaguelly considering Hoolahan at 5.5 but I don't think I've got the plums.

I'd have to agree, it is very hard to pick a midfielder for under 6 that you woudld consider to get a modest points haul.

I just freed up an extra 1.0m to spend in my midfield, then realised I didn't really have anyone to spend it on, so reverted back to my original setup.

Which 3 strikers are the best to take full advantage of the opening fixtures

      I recommend Rooney/RVP and Zamore plus a 4.5m Striker.

You can start them both for the first 4 gameweeks with Rooney/RVP being relatively fixtureproof (rooney not as much if he is not on form).

This will give you a much larger pot to take a big defender and still have a decent mid, or go for an awesome midfield and spread your defence over the 5-6m defenders.

I think you're better of going for the Chelsea striker from the start rather than switching Carroll to him in GW 2.

In my opinion there are a few problems with this squad:

Keepers aren't going to score well.

Kalou is a big rotation risk.

Might be a bit early to take a punt on Gervinho given Arsenal's fixtures.

Clichy might also be a rotation risk.

On the upside I think the financial balance is pretty good, I'd just like a few more players on there that I could hang my hat on, if that makes sense.

A few things that jump out at me:

      Always beware an Arsenal defender!

Simpson is cheap but it seems as if The Toon are looking at self-destructing before the season has started.

Kalou/Rafael/Gervinho are not nailed on starters (especially Kalou)

Stay clear of defensive midfielders, Tiote in particular. He will be one of the most booked players this season and isn't a goal/assist threat normally.

Bale was very hit and miss last year, so I'd do some research on his form first.

      I hope this helps!

      Al'Habsi/(Given) for me

Working out defensive rotations this year is giving me a headache. Checking a million sources, doing Excel spreadsheet calculations. Also all the 'cheap' defenders still cost over 5.0.

I'm more tempted by moses. Neville played four times as many minutes and got just under double Moses score. Moses should get much more game time and even on previous season's form would end up around the 120 mark...whereas Neville got 77 pts. Moses for me for now.

Seb Larsson is someone that is appealing more and more based on your stats and a very good article and spreadsheet that chemikills has just done over at totalfpl.

Downing looks like he could mop up the bonus in liverpool's midfield....his stats have been pretty good for a number of seasons now...inc his middlesbrough days.

Can i get thoughts on the following please:

    Given, Ruddy
    ACole, Luiz, Kompany, Briggs, Orr,
    Silver, Taarabt, Moses, Dempsey, Albrighton,
    Zamora, Bent, Suarez.

I am thinking about the following tweaks...

ACole >>> Baines for GW 4

Luiz >>> Lescott dependant on Luiz starting in charity shield.

Taarabt >>> Sess for GW 2

    RMT please.

    Given/Kenny
    Baines/Kompany/Enrique/O'Shea/S Taylor
    Downing/Benayoun/Sessegnon/Taarabt/O'Hara
    RVP/Bent/Holt

That is subject to Enrique joining Liverpool.

Torres or Drogba will be in for RVP for GW's 2 and 3, then back to RVP for GW 4.

Because I haven't put it up in a while (send all innuendos to the usaual address), how'm I looking? I think I may have drifted away from the acceptable norm:

    Given, Ruddy
    A Cole, Kompany, Bramble, Taylor(swan),Orr
    Malouda, NZog, Sessegnon, Sinclair, Hoolahan
    RVP, Carroll, Zamora

    Sinclair and Hoolahan to rotate.

You ignoring the City vs Swansea fixture then?

VERY similar to my team price and player wise 🙂

Yep, the Man City attack is just going to be a random punt at the start of the season. Not worth it for one game.

Quite like it and if Suarez doesn't start, that would be my front line too.

The midpark is a little lightweight though. Try to downgrade Cole so that you can upgrade Hotlips.

Still think Carrolls the best bet. I expect similar returns from them. If pool play a 4-2-3-1 it will always be Carroll as the front man. Suarez can be used out wide which is slightly concerning me.

I can't wait to click on "highest score of the Gameweek" at the end of day 1 of the season and seeing some BB supprter has captained hoilett who played 90 min, scored, got an assist and 3 boners.

While Silva and Robin scored 2 pts.

    Priceless.

As long as your gwk 1 score puts you in the top 3k, it doesn't really matter too much how others do.

Top 1k for you this year đź‰

    RMT please:

    Given

    Baines, Kompany, Roger Johnson

    Downing, Moses, J Thomas, Silva

    Carroll, Zamora, Van Persie

    Subs:

    Ruddy
    Sessegnon
    Simpson
    Briggs

Sess will be in for Moses week 2. I'm still not 100% sure on Carroll, any thoughts / comments?

      someeone else with J Thomas!

Like this team overall - dont like the lack of Chelsea.

Briggs is a punt but Fulham have just signed another 2 midfielders so think its a long shot that he'll play.

Wilkinson at Stoke a better shout imo.

Thats one of my concerns as well, other than Malouda I not sure who to include?!
Briggs is a cheap option and i'm hoping him and Riise will swap down Fulham's left wing, so he may get the chance to get forward...
J Thomas a cheaper version of Brunt, I'm tempted to sub him for Sess to be honest.

But thanks Wilko for the suggestions.

Any thoughts on potential cheapish differentials from the typical RMTs. Some of my thoughts.
Duff - Could do well and has been playing well pre-season, often lacks the end product to get FPL points.
A Johnson - Jol said in an interview that he plans on playing 4-4-2 and that he likes the AJ and Zamora partnership - at 5.5 could be a good shout?
Brunt - Set plays and fixtures ease up fairly quickly.
R Johnson - Wolves have pretty good fixtures early on and he's always a threat from set plays and you would imagine will be a big bonus earner in an clean sheets they earn.
Pennant - Had a few really good games last year and if they sign Crouchy could be a good shout.

What do people think? Any other contenders?

Yea I've just posted Brunt. He could be very good.
      After GW8 Eagles.
      Graham 5.0
Wheater 4.5 if he plays has a habit of scoring goals from set pieces.
Eyes on Savic to see if he plays.

I'm not saying these are all in my team but they're players that people haven't really mentioned too much.

Yeah Dzekos been good in pre-season too.
Bolton could be a fantasy gold mine for mid-price players but got to get over that hump.

Also, I can see City starting with a 4-3-2-1 with Silva and Aguero behind Dzeko or Balotelli, which would mean he's the main man.

J Thomas - see Brunt above, a good crosser
      James Collins - goal threat
      Hoillett at Blackburn
      Cleverley
Delph, big things expected of him at Villa
Warnock also of Villa, an attacking full back
Darren Pratley - Bolton's star man in pre-season
      Craig Gardner now at Sunderland
Dembele cheap forward at Fulham if or when A Johnson / Zamora get injured, which, lets face it, is highly likely!

Valencia and Cabaye might be worth a look. Ba's another.

Walters is an OOP again so if STK flourish, must be worth a shout.

Craddock at 4.5 is a useful defender if he starts.
