Our Player Projections available in the Members’ Area are being updated on a regular basis as the pre-season rolls on and events such as Barton’s fallout and the arrival of Sergio Aguero move the goalposts.

If you’re new to the site – these tables represent the Scout’s predicted returns for Premier League players in terms of goals, assists, clean sheets and several statistics relevant to the Fantasy Premier League game. They can be accessed in the Members Area right here.

There’s been a lot of tweaks over the past 48-hours so, to help our Members get a handle on the changes made, you can read on for a list of the recent activity. You can expect further tweaks to the Projections over the coming days and certainly following the weekend’s final bout of friendly matches.

Arsenal
Reduced Cesc Fabregas’ starts and overall projection.
Increased Aaron Ramsey’s starts and overall projection.

Aston Villa
Another clean sheet added to Villa’s defence and midfield to take Villa on to a predicted 12 clean sheets for the season.

Blackburn
Ryan Nelsen’s starts reduced – Gael Givet and Grant Hanley’s increased accordingly.

Bolton
Added Tyrone Mears Projection. Reduce Greter Steinsson and Sam Ricketts as a result.
Added Chris Eagles and Nigel Reo Coker. Full revision of Bolton’s midfield projections following the injury to Chung Yong Lee. Mark Davies’ projection in particular, has been boosted.

Chelsea
Full revision over the squad.
Frank Lampard’s overall projection reduced as a result of his recent deep lying role pre-season.

Victor Anichbe’s starts and overall projection increased.
Jermaine Beckford’s starts and overall projection increased. Louis Saha’s starts and projection reduced accordingly.

Fulham
Full revision over the squad
Added Marcel Gecov and Pajim Kasami to Fulham’s midfield.

Liverpool
Reduced Jamie Carragher’s starts and projection. Increased Dan Agger’s accordingly.
Slightly reduced Luis Suarez starts and projection.

Man City
Corrected error with Lescott’s starts and projection – these have now been increased.
Sergio Aguero added to the Forwards. Mario Baltotelli and Edin Dzeko projections tweaked accordingly. Carlos Tevez starts and projection reduced slightly.

Man United
Slight tweaks to the projections of Rafael, Fabio, Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez , Tom Cleverley and Dimitar Berbatov.

Newcastle
Joey Barton’s projection cut while his future is decided. A full revision of the Newcastle midfield has been made as a result.
Reduced starts and projection for Leon Best. Slight tweaks to Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi.

Norwich City
Reduced Elliot Ward starts and projection increased Zak Whitebread accordingly.

QPR
Reduced Kasper Gorkss starts and projections. Revised the defence as a result.
Added Kieron Dyer to midfield.

Sunderland
Slight revision to the defence.
Increased Stephane Sessengon goals and overall projection in the light of his pre-season form and continued role up front.

Swansea City
Jose Moreira replaces Yves Ma Kalambay as the goalkeeper option. Added Wayne Routledge to midfield and reduced starts for Nathan Dyer and Stephen Dobbie accordingly.

Tottenham
Slight tweaks to the midfield and forward projections.

West Brom
Added Ben Foster to replace Boaz Myhill as goalkeeper – saves and Bonus increased.
Removed Gonzalo Jara’s starts with Steven Reid/Billy Jones sharing the right-back role.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So, my bench did need strengthening.

    Given / Ruddy
    Rafael / Kompany / Hughes / Enrique / Gabiddon
    Downing / Silva / N’Zogbia / Taarabt / Sessegnon
    Suarez / Aguero / Rodallega

All-round balanced team. I disagree with doubling up on both Liverpool and City in attack however. Would try to get a bit more variety, perhaps with a Chelsea or Man Utd player.

I’ve been told B rotates better, but I’m starting with Moses in the team and guess he’ll be the one getting rotated if he’s still in after the first 3.

    A) Sinclair & Holt
    Or
    B) Taarabt & Graham

      A is much much safer.

And you're wrong too. A rotates better with Moses if you're looking to rotate a forward player.

Alright, thanks. I meant I'd been told that B rotated better between themselves than A do. Thanks for the heads up about Moses.

Alright chaps, chappettes and chappatis here are my current picks:

GKs - Given & Foster: A bit expensive but hoping for decent returns from them. I think Woy will set WBA up well defensively as will McLeish at Villa.

DEFS - Kompany (naturally), Enrique (turncoat should do well at Liverpool), Warnock (not entirely sure he will start so looking for a bit of advice here) Bramble and Simpson (may be a bit shit but rotate well and are cheap).

MIDS - Ben Arfa (hoping he is back for GW1), Sessegnon (on pens and rotates well with HBA), Moses (punt), N'Zogbia (should do well as usual), Anderson (bit of a punt but if Utd don't get another mid he could be a bargain)

FORWARDS - Aguero, Rooney, RVP (RVP or Aguero will be changed to Torres after GW1).

    Pretty happy with this side.

What if someone under 2% ownership scores a hat trick gw1? You'll want to get him or else you'll miss out on loads of value building on him. Then youll either have to take a hit to get Chelsea cover or will be without it for some very nice fixtures.

Don't like the idea of planning transfers pre-season.

And you can cover your bases, by not taking a needless risk.

Also, a hat trick is just a benchmark, one of his players could get injured or anything. Plans rarely work during the season, let alone pre-season lol

            State the obvious why doncha?
OF COURSE 'players could get injured or anything' - it isn't an exact science! You pick a squad that you think will perform well for as long as possible based on fixtures and past performances of the players. Should I spend 50m on a squad just in case Grant Holt outscores Rooney GW1?
Downgrading is a helluva lot easier than upgrading so by picking the players I want long term (Rooney, RVP etc) I'm happy enough.

Well no, I've looked at the fixtures and come to the pretty obvious conclusion that while Chelsea have by far the easiest fixtures in August both Arsenal and Man City have an easier opening game.
So decision made on that, team value builds by picking the right players, worrying about the inevitable lottery of who is going up or down 0.1 is one of the most tedious (but unfortunately necessary) parts of the game, in this case though the obvious benefits of having a standout captain choice wins against penny pinching pedantism.

I'm not saying you're being pedantic, but the whole 0.1 up/down business. I don't enjoy it.
Even if an emergency transfer is needed (suspension, injury etc) then having Aguero or Rvp wouldn't be the worst.

i agree with this in this case because your arsenal player is good.

If you had someone you didnt feel comfortable with going into gw2, that would be unwise - because of course plenty of things could happen meaning your priorities change.

i think a more realistic problem than the penny pinching idea would be if a few of your other players get injured or don't start

      Hi Mate,

      I Like this side.

I would say though as a toon fan that there might be better choices than ben arfa to start the season. He is currently injured (think he will miss first game possibly two) and when he does get back it will be an enternity since he last played in full premiership game.

Why not go for Ben Arfa > Albrighton for villa coverage during kind fixtures and drop Aguero to Bent or Rodagella till Aguero gets going.

      Just my thoughts 🙂

I had a dream last night that Kompany had scored on the opening day of the season, and even though I had him I was super annoyed because I originally thought it was Yaya, who I had captain (no idea why?!).

Holt will do ok, on pens and the focal point of an attacking team. A leader too and will pick up a share of bonus when the team wins. Anyone who says hes slow has also obviously not seen him play, hes not rapid but when he gets on the move with the ball holding off a defender hes quite a powerful runner.

Not on free kicks though despite popular opinion, and is reliant on the service from Hoolahan/Fox.

Silva. Nani prefers to play on the right, and Sir Alex has stated that Ashley young will play on the left, meaning he is likely to have to fight with valencia for a place on the left, which for such a hefty price isnt worth it.

I also disagree with you saying he's out of depth. He's been playing very impressively for united in pre season. I expect big things from him this season.

    N'zogbia news on twitter.

    @MatKendrick
It looks like Charles N'Zogbia will make his #avfc debut in Portugal against Braga on Saturday, rather than at Derby on Wednesday night

    @MatKendrick
Think the reason for probable debut delay is to allow #avfc coaches to assess N'Zogbia's fitness levels before throwing him into a game

    A - Cole, Orr, Dyer

    B - *Lescott, Bramble, Marveaux

Im not sure, I like the safety of Ashley Cole in A but in B I can have Bramble and Simpson as rotating bench defenders and Lescott can easily become Luiz/Alex

    *I already have Kompany

Who's the better choice - Taarabt or Sinclair? I barely watched any championship football last year, but know they were impressive. Or are there better choices in the 6-6.5 range? I don't want Albrighton since I already have Zogs.

And what about Van Der Vaart? nobody seems to be picking him...I know he's expensive but lots are picking Malouda... I think VDV will be right up there again this year with goals and assists.

    Team;
    Given
    Cashley - Kompany - Enrique
    Jarvis(not sure on this) - Taarabt - VDV - N'Zogbia - Moses
    RVP - Rooney

With Silva seeming to be on such good form in pre season i'm starting to revaluate not having him in my team. So i have a question.

    Silva or VDV?

Even though City had an easier opening run i thought VDV fixture proof, but with the early form silva is picking up, his returns could well be better than VDVs

Bill S Preston, Theodore Logan, Spock, The Rock (Noel Gallagher)

Doc Oc, Hulk Hogan (Grant Holt)

Whats the likelihood of Warnock being a regular for Villa? I notice he isn't playing in the friendly

I've read reports that he is back to top form and is the preferred option. I think it was Collins or Dunne who was talking about how it was great to be playing with him again, and that he was back to full fitness and form, and it was clear that Houlier didn't like him, I think pretty good chance of him being first choice.

He;s their first choice LB now according to most Villa fans.

This friendly looks like their 2nd choice defence. He's started in the others and is probably a good punt from Villa if you don't have Given

Oh I do have Given, that's why I want him. I love doubling up as risky as it is.

Any Stoke fans know if Wilkinson is gonna start? At 4m he'd be a bargain.
