What are we doing for Villa attacking coverage?

On the one hand, amazing fixtures.

On the other hand, poor options -
    (i) Darren Bent - consistent, will score. But SO expensive this year. Basically takes the place of a big player from a top 6 club. Would you feel comfortable captaining Darren Bent? I'm not too sure. Besides wont get enough assists or bps to supplement his goals.
(ii) Charles N'Zogbia - many are going for him but question marks since he's just moves, is also not cheap, and may not hog the play/ baps like he did at Wigan
(iii) Marc Albrighton - reasonably priced and was consistent when he played last season. But what works against him is the other options in the same price range - Sess, Sinclair, Taarabt
(iv) Stephen Ireland - the ballsy option for the risk-taker. Has actually been playing quite a bit pre-season. But its a long time since he's been in any sort of form. So a big gamble.

Thoughts? currently I have no one even though I keep switching between Albrighton and Sessegnon every day almost.

Bent's price about right considering his goals per game ratio compared to rest of league. Doesn't matter he aint top 6. A goalscorer is a goalscorer after all

      Completely agree about Darren Bent.

He's obviously very consistent but he's definitely overpriced.

He'll score steadily as always but in FF you should be constantly changing up your strikers to the guys on fire, not permanently tying up £10m in a player that'll score 2,6,6,2,2 etc

    Reina
    Johnson Carragher Agger Enrique
    Kuyt Gerrard Adam Downing
    Suarez Carroll

Downing a starter so not option B (if 2nd option was B and not 2)
Adam and Gerrard in same team doesn't work for me in fact Adam not being main man at a club (ie time at Rangers) doesn't work. Adam will be massive failure IMO (hope not but think he will)

Interesting, as I can see Gerrard returning to his DM style position (when he was a youngster) alongside Adam but bombing on when he needs to. I think Adam will be expected to play that Alonso type QB role when Gerrard does get forward, releasing Downing/Kuyt/Suarez in the wide positions.

I'd be quite excited as a Liverpool fan with that prospect. Perhaps a concern would be no-one to put a foot in, but a fully fit Gerrard should be able to track back and press. I don't buy this "his legs have gone" malarky.

Haven't heard that, but I wouldn't be surprised. If that means a 442 shape then I can't see Kuyt being happy playing as an orthadox right mid. He's okay there with one up top and Suaraz on the opposite 'flank' but then where does Downing fit in?

Urrgh, not at all. By playing a diamond you remove any width from your midfield; I can't see Downing and Kuyt operating in that system. And with wide players (or attacking players) in those 2 roles then it leaves the DM with too much to do. Adam certainly isn't the most mobile.

Benitez had it right with a 4-2-3-1 and I can see Liverpool returning to this. I'm just struggling with how Kuyt/Downing/Suarez fit into the 2 wide roles.

ya, i can't see that happening with all of them fitting in then w/that formation either. 4-2-3-1 is hard to work out when you have a multiple strikers/mfs to choose from.

    Kenny
    Ivanovic, Baines, Kompany
YaYa, N'Zogbia, Van der Vaart, Taarabt
    Rodallega, Van Persie, Holt
    (Ruddy, Simpson, Alcaraz and Sinclair)

Can keep a transfer for Al habsi from Kenny week 9 then back in week 14 and back to Al habsi in week 37, guaranteeing never playing the top 6 (Man U, Man C, Ars, Liv, Che or Spurs) but I'm sure that's been duly noted before lol

    Given, Foster
    Luiz, Gabbidon, Clichy, Brown, Hughes
Taarabt, Cahill, N Zogbia, Y.Toure, Dyer
    Suarez, Aguero, Odemwingle

I have 0.5 in the bank. Few things on my mind are-:
    1) No attacking player from chelsea
    2) Still confused about darren bent (consistent but double digit price turns me off)
Also, do you guys think both aguero and suarez will start right from the first gameweek?

Yep, strong starting 11, I'll give you that. But personally, I'd still prefer knocking one or two of those down a little to have a bit of flexibility with subs regarding fixtures. But that's just a personal preference maybe.

Just a heads up though, Dyer (I presume Swansea, not QPR) may not play every week. Swansea have signed Routledge and I believe he's the highest paid player at the club so he isn't going to be sitting on the bench. Sinclair is going to play week in week out, so Dyer will most likely be on the bench at a guess, bit unclear there though.
