Back in the routine yet? Maybe another familiar regular is what you need to reacquaint yourself with the route to the weekend Fantasy deadline.

We’ve duly published our first Captain poll of the season, canvassing your views on the destination of the Fantasy armband ahead of the season kick-off.

Straight way, we’ve got an interesting one.

Doubts surrounding the fitness of Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez level the playing field a little, while Nani and Wayne Rooney will catch the eye, though both may look a risk against a West Brom side who will surely be well-drilled by the crafty Roy Hodgson. Perhaps a gamble on Fernando Torres at Stoke is in order? But then Didier Drogba could easily start at the Britannia, such is the uncertainty surrounding the Andre Villas-Boas teamsheet.

Votes are already streaming in. You can cast yours now via the homepage middle column and use this article to discuss the options.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I like the Tim Cahill pick! but Richards/Rafael are risky and Shawcross has hard fixtures

Also I would go with any other striker instead of Torres 😛

He will probably play most games but Zabelta might come in and play a few games as well.

I would go for Kompany over Richards just to be safe

haha - if you downgrade to Drogba you could upgrade Richards to Lescott, who is even more attacking then Richards/Kompany.

Probably end up with Nani though 😛

I took the 'safe route' by captaining Evra at home to WBA, expecting a definate clean sheet and possible an assist.

United let in two and Evra scored an own goal 😐

Thoughts on Drogs? The man is always a threat when he plays… and the form torres has been in, will AVB give him starting chances. The way I see and with Chelseas fiztures, Drog only needs a half to assert his wrath 😉

He should play against Stoke I'd guess. But they've just signed another new striker, and Sturridge is coming up the ranks, and is now above (the esteemed) Anelka in the starting order.

I was impressed with Obertan in preseason. He has clearly worked on his strength and bulked up which should put him in a much better position for English football. Can see him doing very well but not sure if he will be straight into the first team or have to earn his place.

One to watch for sure at that price.

    Captains Poll:
Nani & Rooney - risky pick away at WBA
Malouda/Lamps/Drog - risky away at Stoke
Spurs vs Everton has a very good chance of being postponed.
Carroll worth a shout for sure. I'm tempted with including Downing in my squad but...
I'd say either Yaya or Silva is the best punt for captain. Good chance of clean sheets plus assists/goals and bonus points.
    Yay or nay?

Nay on the Yaya... he played very deep vs united... wont back up last seasons efforts imo and wont justify his price tag.

Torn between Carroll and Silva tbh, leaning towards Carroll just because i find it more fun taking a few well judged risks! Then a defender due a clean sheet for vice.

Anyone got thoughts on McEachran? Having a good pre-season, Essien's crocked and Mikel could be out now

Apparently if you have a business then you are regarded as rich, so it's perfectly acceptable for you to be targetted. So ignorant and uneducated. It's a vicious circle, they've been taught this by their parents.

Exactly. The police have asked the parents to keep their kids in tonight, but I bet half the parents couldn't actually give a toss. Vicious circle indeed, and unfortunately it'll carry on repeating itself over and over.

Croquet is the only word in the English language to have more sylables than vowels (including y as a vowel). This is due to the various clicks and whistles included in the word when pronounced by an English gentleman.

Hate to piss on strawberries but Croquet has TWO syllables: "Crow"-"Kay"...Its also has THREE vowels...So, I think your point may be invalid? Not sure...

Ha, a 'y' is a vowel now is it.

How about Rhythm for a word without any vowels.

    Opinions please

    a) Given
    Baines Luiz Orr
    Taarabt Malouda
    Bent

    OR

    b) Al Habsi
    Dunne Luiz Jagielka
    Nzogbia Malouda
    Drogba

    OR

    c) Given
    ACole Jagielka Orr
    Nzogbia Malouda
    Drogba

Would love to get Baines and a Chelsea defender as mentioned in option a) but Im worried Luiz wont start most games and Jagielka dont take free kicks like Baines does...

    Dilemma
