From MI6 to the CIA, never has there been such rigid protection of confidential information than that surrounding Mark’s initial Fantasy squad. So, when super-secret agent himself joined me in the studio for our first podcast of the season, I was resigned to getting thrown the odd teasing titbit but little else.

However, it was to my very great surprise that he’d gone and left the proverbial back door open, there, “live” on air, he handed me a laptop giving me open access to his team on screen right in front of me. Since I was already in the house, he reluctantly decided to show me around.

An unexpected twist to our first podcast of the season and, dare I say it, a rare privilege for the listener.

Really cannot face starting without Drogba, still having nightmares about last year.

Tempted to get Dzeko in for RVP now and leave money to upgrade if it goes terribly week one, but I don't think it will.

Dzeko could very easily score two tap ins and then rocket up in price.

  If Walcott is fit it'll make it easier. The spare money from RVP fits him in as a massive midfield upgrade and makes the team look a lot more balanced.

    Yes, but I don't think much action will be happening on the right. Especially when it looks like Rosicky will be in the hole. He will have more support on the left footed side of the field (Gervinho & Ramsey).

    lol that's my front three atm as well, good to see someone's in the same boat.
    
    I am not worried about week one, Dzeko can easily match RVP and if he doesn't it's not a disaster. My only concern is RVP playing well and quickly being priced out of my reach. But last season worrying about 0.1 here and there prompted some of my most ridiculous decisions.

    I doubt that after scoring in the CS. If Aguero plays I imagine he'd replace Balo. Hmm.

  Somebody will get a couple of tap-ins...I refuse to get Balo. Personally I've gone with:
  
  Drogba Gervinho and Welbeck up front, I may drop one of the three (don't know which) if I hear that Suarez, Tevez or Aguero will see minutes for sure.

    That's refreshing. I thought about Wellbeck, with the option of bringing in Sturridge or someone lower once Chica is back. Too many strikers I want though.

      Yeah that's a problem everyone seems to have. I think Welbeck will be fixture-proof this season. He's strong faster and smarter, the energy that he brings everytime on the field tends to give coaches like SAF a woody. With Rooney doing his attacking midfielder impression and mainly looking like a facilitator. I can't start the season hoping for some schmuck to get brought down in the box.
      Gervinho will put them on his back, I'm just afraid that there will be PK's with Newcastle, I can see Gervinho being that guy being brought down in the box A LOT. Drogba just seems essential at this point...especially if Anelka and Kalou don't play (which I hope they don't).

        You not reckon Wellbeck is in trouble when Chica returns? Find it hard to see all three in the same team. Although if Wellbeck starts well, you're right about the energy, I think he can do more all round than Hernandez.

Argh so annoying not knowing the starters.. Whats the consensus on who mancini will start against swansea up front? Tevez - No. Aguero - Not Likely.. Balotelli or Dzeko or both? I currently have Balotelli in but come Saturday morning illbe scouring the face of the interweb for any hint of who it will be.

The single most important piece of information that can come out between now and the deadline is surely: will be match between Tottenham and Everton fall some time in the next few weeks, or will it be placed amongst the January re-schedules?

Anyone who knows the answer to this, or has any information pointing in that direction, will be hero-worshipped if they share. Because if it's happening some time in the next few weeks, then surely a load of Everton and Spurs players for the gameweek 1 bench are required.
