As many of you may have noticed, the EA Sports Index has already been published on the Premier League site. This, of course, is how the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) will break down the Bonus Points in this season’s game.

Many of the names are as we anticipated, though what’s something of a surprise is Shay Given, with 5 saves in Aston Villa’s 0-0 draw at Fulham, looks as though he’s earned no Bonus Points, despite keeping the Cottagers at bay. Newcastle’s Steven Taylor, on the other hand, is the top-rated player on the Index for the goalless Newcastle-Arsenal game. Wigan’s Victor Moses, Man of the Match in many press sources with 9 successful dribbles and 3 shots, is also likely to miss out.

As expected, goal scoring is the main factor- by the looks of things, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Ivan Klasnic and Steven Fletcher are the highest-rated players on the EA Sports Index for their respective games and seem set to grab all 3 Bonus Points.

Fantasy Football Scout will, of course, be breaking down the Bonus in full for the Premier League and you can expect our article on the matter to be published later today.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I am not ure if this has been so apologies if it has. Still trying to get my head around the new FPL site.

I started a H2H league with a 4 team knockout. Does this mean we have 36 rounds of H2H then the top 4 go to a semi and a final? Or does it mean we have a normal points league until two rounds of H2H to finish?

Really hope it is the former and I haven't messed it up. Any help would be great.

Is anybody else still having problems with their private leagues?

A guy joined mine on Friday/Saturday, and the league is listed among his leagues... but when you click on the league, he's not on there.

    Any solution?

What are peoples opnions on Walters?

Hes basically OOP, i think (as i did before yesterdays game) that they will do even better this season, they have decent fixtures:

nor, wba, LIV, sun, MANU, swa, FUL...

I think theirs goals for them in those away games and i think they can give anyone a game at home, thoughts?

So u dont think those away games are pretty decent? I think they could easily score against us at the moment, United will obviously be tough but he could be benched and i think they will give Fulham a tough game too.

i think they might be stronger all round this year tho, it doesnt matter too much if their not winning as long as hes scoring!

Dont really fancy any of the other options at 6m or less tho.

Worth it as a gamble. I'm biased though- as a player I think Walters is a garbageasaurus.

I dont really rate him that much either, but the only other options are the Wolves trio Hunt/Jarvis/O'Hara but i dont much fancy their fixtures and if it appears assists etc arent gonna do much for baps id rather go for basically a striker classed as a midfielder who might get some goals.

i have walters in my team. think he is a good shout for a 6 mill midfielder who is pretty much a stiker. he has the best chance to score goals, asist and also gets points for clean sheets. just my worry is he may become a rotation risk in a few weeks as stoke have promised to make about 5/6 signings including some stikers and midfielders.

yh i wouldnt worry too much about stokes fixtures tho. they have a good team and always create chances especially off set peices. didnt expect them to draw with chelsea so i wouldnt worry. walters had pretty much most of stokes few chances.

BP's to go off who scored goals? Sounds right for something that EA would do....

Yes, that is exactly what is happening here. Too much credit for goals and a few other statistics are warping the PPI beyond believe.

Cahill and Klasnic are world beaters apparently, according to the PPI...

In my opinion the PPI should be closer matched between different players; and this would happen if different actions were treated more equally.

I dislike the new system as well, but we have to remember that the Index is intended to be a season long accumulation of stats based scores. Therefore the PPI is NOT claiming Klasnic and Cahill are world beaters - they are top of the index on the back on one good weekend. Will they be numbers 1 and 2 in three weeks time? Very doubtful.

(No doubt the good folks at EA Sports are aghast at the PR disaster these last days have been and must be wishing they'd not gone near this with a barge pole. The feeling's mutual guys.)

I liked the old way bonus points were allocated yes it was opinion and sometimes the press was biased but generally speaking the points were relevant. For example Ashley young on the old system would have had 3 for his match winning impact. The new system to my knowledge richie de laet gives away a penalty after a stuff up and gets 2 bonus points against wigan (going from top 100 ea index on the pl website).

The premier league sold out the game along with the stats to electronic arts (to my knowledge) last year, this is the result.

Disappointing but at the same time will not stop me playing the game.
