FPL Issue Apology

Evening all. The FPL have this afternoon issued an apology over the recent log-in debacle and look to have made changes on the back of the weekend’s problems.

The link to the full announcement is highlighted above, so I’ll leave you to check it out for yourselves if you haven’t done so already. The first point (below) means we are all allowed free transfers from now up until the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday morning- compensation for many of us who were unable to make those last-minute changes from Friday evening onwards..

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

From a Fantasy Football Scout perspective, then, just to assure you- we will be resetting any of our affiliated leagues- they will all now start from Gameweek 2 to ensure a level playing field for those involved.

          If the rest of the choices appear equally confusing (haven't checked myself) then I suppose we'll have to assume another year or random bps... It wouldn't be right if they made sense.

    Three things:

    1. The FPL management did the right thing (I doubt sending the apology to everybody's e-mail address so that they know about the change is physically possible so people will have to read it on their website - fair to all).
    2. From a Fantasy perspective, come on Lescott.
    3. From a footballing perspective, come on the Swans!!!!!

      I'll probably have him back in by the end of the week - currently swapped out as I don't expect his value to change. I hadn't planned on ditching for another game week before all this transfer lark kicked off. Reckon he'll be more of a problem for Arsenal and Suarez will be back to his lethal best by GW3 (or so I'm predicting).

    I must admit that I really like Gary Neville as a pundit. Totally agree with most of his points. Especially how every Chelsea team still just feels like a Mourinho team with such a similar spine. It is going to be hard to change the mindset of so many big players.

      No mate, a specific player has to rise by 0.2 for you to gain 0.1 when you sell, your overall team rise is irrelevant.

    Look on the brightside another 5 days of RMT.

    I'm actually going to be honest and say the fact I got 18 points was because my team was crap. However I picked it in plenty of time and was happy with it. I didn't see QPR getting spanked at home by a team who hardly win away. I thought Wigan would beat Norwich. And sadly I let my Liverpool heart rule my head.

    If it was Friday night again on the eve of the season, would I have changed any of my players - probably not. However I'll happily take the opportunity to do so now cos it is unfair for the guys who's teams were auto completed and are 40 points ahead!
