Evening all. The FPL have this afternoon issued an apology over the recent log-in debacle and look to have made changes on the back of the weekend’s problems.

The link to the full announcement is highlighted above, so I’ll leave you to check it out for yourselves if you haven’t done so already. The first point (below) means we are all allowed free transfers from now up until the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday morning- compensation for many of us who were unable to make those last-minute changes from Friday evening onwards..

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

From a Fantasy Football Scout perspective, then, just to assure you- we will be resetting any of our affiliated leagues- they will all now start from Gameweek 2 to ensure a level playing field for those involved.

Because we get free transfers this week, does that mean our 1 free transfer is void for this week, and therefore we get 2 free next week? OR Shall we just assume we are transferring 1 week late from normal from now on?

This is something of a repost and i'm no financial expert but I just realized that everyone going after price risers then swappping them back by end of gameweek for profit is pretty much taking a call option on a currency except the excise price will always be half of whatever profit you make.

    They're looking at players who may have a double price rise (ie 0.2 rise). Then they'll sell for a 0.1 profit before the next GW.

    you're right mate, the thing is i can't see anyone rising by .2 though which you'd need to make a profit. Unless someone bags a hattrick tonight, i dont think anyone will rise more than .1. Maybe suarez but i doubt it.

  Points from GW1, including tonight's game all count for FPL overall ranking. It might not count towards minileagues you are in, but this is dependent on your minileague administrator and if they decide to reset the scores to zero for GW2 or continue to include all GW1 scores.

      Yeah the start of this FPL season and the new site have been a big disappointment. Hopefully, FPL get their act together and get things sorted. The minileague GW2 reset is hopefully a one-off, never to be repeated again.

I didn't even get a team entered so I have 0 points, at least I thought I could pick a team with 1 GWs knowledge to help me claw back some points...

Everybody should be wiped to 0 or set to the GW 1 average if they scored less than it.

Giving everyone a WC is sh*te from my perspective.

Slightly annoyed that some people in my mini league, with DREADFUL teams, no balance etc have been able to see my team and now effectively copy all my good picks at no expense.

Our H2H league doesnt want to start in GW2 as we have 20 teams so if you do nothing will fixtures be created tomorrow or Sat. In the admin section there is no option to select GW1 so by doing nothing will it be from GW1 ... FFS can be get more info ?

    He looks like a starter and played ahead of Ivanovic away against Stoke. If he gets dropped, it's an easy fix to drop him to Senderos or upgrade to Luiz or Alex. I had no intention of keeping Cole long term. I was just playing safe and waiting to see who the cheap Chelsea starters were.
