Evening all. The FPL have this afternoon issued an apology over the recent log-in debacle and look to have made changes on the back of the weekend’s problems.

The link to the full announcement is highlighted above, so I’ll leave you to check it out for yourselves if you haven’t done so already. The first point (below) means we are all allowed free transfers from now up until the Gameweek 2 deadline on Saturday morning- compensation for many of us who were unable to make those last-minute changes from Friday evening onwards..

1. Receive unlimited transfers
No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline (11:30 BST on Saturday 20th August 2011). If you have already made transfers and had points deducted, these will be restored to your overall total by midnight on Tuesday 16th August 2011. If you have already opted to play your wildcard, this too will be restored at the same time.

From a Fantasy Football Scout perspective, then, just to assure you- we will be resetting any of our affiliated leagues- they will all now start from Gameweek 2 to ensure a level playing field for those involved.

We’ll have more on this later…
‪

Do any of the Scouts know if prices are to be frozen?

Or can we print money for a week?

So do we know if prices are frozen then?

Something is keeping me from making the transfers and taking the big points hit, even if it is apparently only for 24 hours...

Because they got an accumalitive total of 4 points between them, lmao.

And because I didn't need them this week, I was going to take a 4 point hit for the later two anyways. And Enrique is just a downgrade from Agger so I have funds elsewhere.

will be v interesting to see if price rises / falls are disabled this week, else we could see some massive changes!

unsure whether i think this was a good idea or not. probably slightly against it to be honest as gives those people who made bad team choices to start with a "clean slate" and the benefit of seeing exactly who played in GW1 - part of the skill is trying to work this out before the season starts without the benefit of seeing "competitive" lineups.

Clearly FPL can't please everybody. But this gives the option for everyone to be on a level playing field.
Besides, not many people are going to be aggrieved by this weeks scores anyway...

Seems stupid to me, people who planned ahead have got screwed and all of the teams will look similar already.

Should of just kept going as it was, if you weren’t happy with your team you could of wildcarded.

Two wildcards last season was too much and now we have three? 😆

I was thinking that I may keep Carroll and Drogba.

If prices aren't frozen I will sell them now, and potentially buy them back at a 0.1 lower price by the end of the week.

    Short trading anyone?

Selling a player at a .1 increase is useless because you wont see the increase until he goes up .2. The only benifit to buying a player before his price rises is if you actually plan on playing him or holding on to him longterm until he goes up by .2

    Cheap Mids
    Suarez/Bent Rooney Torres

Play 4-3-3 each week and rotate Baines/Enrique only when they have ManU away.

So optimum strategy is to bring in all the bandwagon players RIGHT now, pocket the price rises and get rid on Saturday morning, right?

Is there any point in getting those players unless you're thinking of keeping them? You wont make any profit on them unless they rise by .2 and I don't think that will happen.

I think once people get wind of this, there will be arseloads of price rises and may well be some double risers.

Assuming price rises continue as normal of course.

It may take 20-25k transfers for 1 rise, then 40-50k more for tise 2. So out of 2 million ish wildcards a .2 rise is a walk in the park.

Well until we know if prices are to change or not I guess its wise to transfer in Suarez and Cahill tonight and try and make a profit as they will double rise before the deadline if they go up tonight. If the prices are indeed frozen then can change back as and when before the deadline.
