Harry Redknapp admits Luka Modric could leave, as long as he gets time to replace him. Chelsea join Arsenal in the race for Juan Mata. QPR’s new owner Tony Hernandes wants Scott Parker at Loftus Road and Theo Walcott has faith in Arsene Wenger. Here’s today’s Scribbles:

Harry Redknapp has admitted he would consider allowing Luka Modric to leave Spurs. Far as he’s concerned, though, it has to happen sooner rather than later in order to give him the time to bring in reinforcements:

He’s had his head turned. I want to see him here at the start of the year, but if he goes then you get three or four players in. They’re your options: get the money and get four players and, in all honesty, have a better team, or keep Luka, who is a fantastic player.”

“There’s no chance the chairman will sell him on the last day of the transfer window. He did that with Berbatov a few years ago and ended up with no strikers. He won’t do that again.

Redknapp reckons his move for former Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor will be looked upon favourably by Spurs fans. Adebayor sparked controversy a couple of seasons back by running the length of the pitch to celebrate a goal for Man City front of the Gunners fans and Redknapp reckons that will win the Tottenham supporters over. Having already acquired William Gallas from the Gunners in his time at White Hart Lane, Redkanpp clearly doesn’t let the club’s North London rivalry affect his transfer thinking:

Arsenal fans hate him so Tottenham fans will love him. He’s got an advantage by upsetting them. He’ll be a hero.

Chelsea have joined Arsenal in the race for Valencia’s Juan Mata. The Blues have been relatively quiet in the summer transfer market so far but are aiming to pip Arsene Wenger’s side for the playmaker’s services as Andre Villas-Boas looks to bring in more creativity. Reports suggest Chelsea are on the verge of a double transfer raid on Villas-Boas’ old club Porto. Joao Moutinho and Alvaro Pereira were key components of the Portuguese club’s brilliant 2010/11 season and the Chelsea boss is determined to wrestle them away before the transfer deadline in 13 days time.

With Arsenal decimated by injuries and suspension, young Carl Jenkinson looks set to start at right-back against Liverpool on Saturday. Bacary Sagna will move to left-back to step in for the inured Kieran Gibbs and with such a depleted line-up looking likely for the Emirates match, Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez will be heading to the Gunners with plenty optimism.

Tony Fernandes’ imminent takeover of QPR’s is set to spark a host of new signings at Loftus Road. Bids for Scott Parker and Shaun Wright-Phillips are already rumoured to be lined up as Neil Warnock looks for reinforcements ahead of the end of August deadline.

It‘s been a tough old week for Arsene Wenger, but at least he has the support of Theo Walcott. The Arsenal winger expressed his faith in the Gunners boss and suggested dressing room morale hasn’t been affected by the recent Cesc Fabregas upheaval.

I am sure the boss has got players coming – I don’t know – but if you sell one of your best players I am sure he has got options coming in. But the mood is very good. We got a very good result at Newcastle I thought, especially going down to ten men.

Man City’s Nedum Onouha is a wanted man. Three Premier League club are after the full-back’s services, with Everton, Blackburn and QPR all eyeing up a bid. Onouha spent last season on loan at Sunderland but is clearly not part of Roberto Mancini’s plans for the season ahead and is set to leave the Etihad Stadium before the end of August.

Wigan have been linked with a move for Peter Odemwingie. The West Brom forward, however, used his official Twitter feed to assure Baggies fans that he will leave only for a top side. Arsenal and Spurs are also rumoured to be hovering.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

+1 im sure someone will "gurantee" Hilario will play. Theirs a lot of that on here nowadays, like when last week when someone (not mentioning any names) slaughtered someone for daring to ask if Kuyt would start last week, i thought he would be these "gurantees" get thrown around way too much on here.

Same reason as me. Bit of Bale syndrom. Great player, but aslong as you dont get points for assisting the assist, he´s not that good, even at 6.0. There are players +-,5 who are involved with setpieces etc, for worse teams tho but still, better to score or assist then to play for a good club and just flow along.

Played in the holding role last week. If Fletcher or Carrick play this week then he is well worth a gamble. If not then Cleverley is playing further forward and is only 5.5m so would be better value.

Cech made 80 fewer save than Foster last year and was well down on the save list. Not many shots get that far. So it's not that much of a blow. If Chelsea still have a strong back four and midfield, Hilario or Turnbull could be good, cheap, short-term defensive cover.

Hi guys, Is anyone able to answer my technical question?

I am a mini league administrator and due to the WK1 issues have the following problem:

1 of the lads registered a team with 'auto fill' early in the week, came to make some changes on the Sat and found the log-in issue. He then sent for a new password and somehow ended up registering a 2nd team under the same email address.

'Auto fill' team scored 36 points, team 2 scored 0 (as he didnt create a team.

Now whenever he attempts to log in, it takes him to team 2 and will not allow him acces to his original 'auto fill' team. This leaves him starting from 0 going into WK2, with a 36 point team sat doing nothing which cannot be accessed.

Is there anyway of him being able to retrieve Team1 and delete team2???????

(Sorry for long post) any help would be appreciated!

Posted the clean sheet totals for the past 10 years on the last page. Some additional anaylsis from those number relating to Mr Baines, a subject I'm currently very interested in!

I decided to calculate how many extra attacking points Baines would need to just score the same points as a defender on one of the top 3 clean sheet teams. Should help see if he's worth the extra money.

(This assumes that the defenders at these teams won't pick up attacking points, get booked, will play all games, etc)

      10/11
      Everton CS 9
#1 Man City CS 18 so Baines needs 36 attacking points
#2 Man Utd 15 so Baines needs 24 attacking points
#3 Chelsea 15 so Baines needs 24 attacking points

      09/10
      Ev 11
#1 Man Utd 19 so Baines needs 32 attacking points
#2 Chelsea 18 so Baines needs 28 attacking points
#3 Liverpool 17 so Baines needs 24 attacking points

      08/09
      Ev 17
#1 Man Utd CS 24 so Baines needs 28 attacking points
#2 Chelsea 22 so Baines needs 20 attacking points
#3 Liverpool 20 so Baines needs 12 attacking points

Baines may well get 30 attacking points, but your arguement is flawed -

"This assumes that the defenders at these teams won’t pick up attacking points"

8m will get you Vidic, A.Cole and Lescott, all of which will definitely get attacking points.

Yeah, I know, I wasn't going for an exhaustive analysis, which is why I included that disclaimer. Might do some more in depth research this afternoon, if I do I'll post it.

To add to my previous point though, Baine's attacking points in the last three seasons, excluding bps have been:

          10/11 63
          09/10 33
          08/09 24

READ UP A LITTLE! Seriously. I'm not usually one to get annoyed by that sort of thing. But did you not think this subject had been discussed at all! Ok, if there was only one post about it on the page then you may have missed it, but there are two ^^ Just look up next time. Hilario will start, he was the on the bench for the stoke game, Turnbull wasn't.

im not sure how much longer i will use this forum. so many idiots nowadays. such a shame as it was an invaluable tool, perhaps it would be best to make it members only.

It used to be the odd idiot who said they knew something when they couldnt possibly, or asked a questions that had been asked and asnwered several times before.

The RMTs are mostly by these same fools.

          Rant over.
