Alex Ferguson faces selection headache up front. Wenger welcomes back Laurent Koscielny but is losing sleep over Thomas Vermaelen’s ankle knock. Roberto Mancini and Andre Villas-Boas contemplate throwing their new signings into the mix. Kenny Dalglish set to rekindle the Suarez/Carroll partnership against Bolton. Harry Redknapp adamant that Luka Modric will line up against City as the Croatian sorts his hamstring and his future at Spurs.

A reminder that these nuggets from around the Premier League grounds – all the team news leading into the weekend – is being collated and compiled for you via our team news section. Noteworthy additions are being flagged via our Twitter feed as usual.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Seamus Coleman (ankle) and Magaye Gueye (broken toe) are absent, while Tim Cahill (illness) and Jermaine Beckford (knee) both missed Wednesday night’s Carling Cup win over Sheffield United.

From the official Everton page. He could be benched or he won't play 90min IMO.

One of the few chances Dyer will get from me, not that Sun are that quick on the flanks and there full backs don't impress me2. So Dyer it is. Fletch on the other hand is against Collins and Dunne, Friedel on the goal too.

I'd play Jarvis over Saha and I (just personal preferences) would bloody hate having my captain finished my 2pm on Saturday.

There's no footballing logic the latter point, but yeah, I'd be looking to captain Suarez on that silly logic.

'Bolton can keep Gary Cahill' barks Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger

    Read more: http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/873625-bolton-can-keep-gary-cahill-barks-arsenal-boss-arsene-wenger#ixzz1W9lAzNvc

Hilarious stuff by Wenger. Looks like he is not in a mood, but he must understand that the transfer prices are inflated in the last year, he can't not go and buy Anelka for 300k anymore.

6 to 8 million is exactly the right price for Cahill imo, considering he's in the last year of his contract.

It's very good game-playing by Wenger, simply because Bolton can't keep Cahill. They either sell him now, or lose him for nothing in the summer.

If it was 6 or 7 million, that isn't bad as an opening bid, especially considering Cahill won't be bought as a definite first choice player.

To be honest, I don't think Arsenal expected for that bid to be accepted. It was as much a nod to Everton that we don't feel that we need to shell out extra for Jagielka, and also to test how genuine Man City's interest in Cahill is.

This is probably the first decent bit of transfer mind-games Wenger's done in ages.

Couldn't agree more MFaulkner, so many ill informed idiotic comments about our bid for Cahill. Even if we had bid 6 million (which Wenger insists is not our bid) it would still be a good deal for Bolton bearing in mind they will get 0 million for him in nine months time...

Crazy how Wenger's being crucified in the media for bidding low.

How dare Wenger try to sell his players for as high prices as possible, then try and buy new ones for as cheap as possible! 🙄

That's what every bloody manager (who doesn't have a bottomless pit of cash) does.

He waited a year for Chamakh (although that didn't turn out so well) so I fully expect him to do the same here if Bolton are holding out for a ridiculous amount of money. My only fear (see above) is that Boyata is being provided by Man City so that they get first option on Cahill. I don't see Man City freeing Boyata on loan to make Bolton feel better about selling Gary to Arsenal...

If Man City are in for him, Man City are in for him, and there's nothing we can do really.

If they're not, Arsenal are holding all the cards, and it's just about Bolton deciding how much one extra season with Cahill is worth.

What's not smart is Coyle deliberately trying to taunt Wenger with the aim of killing off any Cahill deal. That will be good for Coyle in the short term as he won't lose Cahill, but then he'll have no money to replace him next year gg!

i think there has been some 3rd party involved with leaking this somehow, I know Arsene doesnt do business in public, so either Bolton are taking the piss and trying to get a bidding war or they have a rotten apple in their camp....

I agree with the comments above that if that is the bid and in last yr of contract...7 mill now or 0 in 9 months

I think 6 million is a serious bid for a last year of contract Cahill. We know that Arsene bid more than that so I don't see how he has ''soured the relationship''. Bolton have created this whole ''row'' to advertise the fact they are willing to sell Cahill - probably with the intention of attracting Man City. Cahill's not worth more than 7, maximum 8 million with one year left on his contract, so I don't see how Wenger's bid was insulting...

Hey luke_chadwick, I sold Torres to buy Suarez - Think suarez will start and do well, even against bolton. Not sure torres will do anything. Going to start Worm at home to sunderland (think they'll struggle on the road), over Given against an in-form wolves team
I'm between two minds who to capt - have it on bent at the minute, but considering Suarez and Baines (for a second week, as it's blackburn)

Not quite 50 : 50 battle 26k has sold him and 211k owns him. 10 to 1 I imagine it is. So if he draws a blank that's gonna be 10times more angry managers. I believe that not enough managers has sold him in order for him to produce.

I'm afraid the words Torres and hat-trick are highly unlikely to ever be used in the same sentence in a match report again.

Ug last night of me owning my WC and i am no further forward to deciding on my squad! Help me gamesmaster...

    Vorm (Kenny) - rotate well

S Taylor Bosingwa Enrique (R taylor Kompany)

Moses N Dyer silva Downing (Jarvis)

    Roonpig Bent Suarez

Still unconfident. Haven't breeched the 80 pts barrier yet. Largely down to bad captaincy decisions not helped by me being swayed by the poll on here

Right, so Arsenal's potential midfield against Swansea : Ramsey-Rosicky-Djourou. Doesn't this mean Ramsey will be playing box-to-box more than the Cesc role?

I've read that he's 50-50 with a groin injury and hasn't trained this week.
As Wigan-QPR is a 12:30 KO, it'll be likely that he'll be on the bench at least, so I'd prepare for that.

    I don't normally do this, but I'm stumped ...

Lamps or Roon for my (C)?

Roon has been productive, but Arse might be tight, even at OT.

Lamps has been largely 'meh', but fixture and AVB's desire for goals makes him a decent choice.

Thoughts? Help a Brother out ...

My plan before season's start was Lamps for weeks 2 & 3, but Roon and Utd in general look on the warpath.

Wazza's the smarter choice, I guess, as more in my mini have him ... but Lamps would be my differential pick. Arrgghh.

Guess I'm leaning Red right now ...

I've got a similar situation in my mini league and you're right the smarter thing is to captain Rooney and take Lampard's points anyway. However, i think it's a good chance to build a lead

You have to captain Lamps if you have him. A 12 million player at home to Norwich, whats the point having him if you dont.
Also Chelsea realistically should put at least 3 past Norwich and Lamps is likely to be involved. Also I don't think Arsenal will roll over at Old Trafford like everyone is saying.

lamps. he looked good in the second half last week. he is only owned by 3% so its a good time to captain him and you're probably thinking of selling anyway. honestly think he will be one of the higher scorers this week imo

Everton - Osman, and maybe a cheap gamble on bartley (playing well).
QPR - Barton (though not for this weekend, not registered on time)
      Newcastle - Gutierrez
      WBA - Brunt
      Swansea - sinclair, dyer
      Wigan - moses, watson
      wolves - jarvis
      united - cleverly
      bolton - eagles, petrov,
that's just a few to consider.
