A strong run of upcoming fixtures for Arsenal sees Theo Walcott ranked highly on our updated Watchlist.

Having suffered an ankle injury during pre-season, the winger made a tentative beginning to the campaign as Arsene Wenger eased him back into first-team action with a thirty minute sub appearance in the opener at Newcastle. Since returning to full fitness, however, Walcott has been a key figure as the Gunners look to rebuild following a summer of key departures.

His contribution to Arsenal’s Champions League qualifying campaign proved crucial, scoring home and away against Udinese as Wenger’s side secured a place in the group stages at the Italian club’s expense. Walcott also scored in the recent 8-2 humiliation at Old Trafford, meaning he has netted three times in four starts for Arsenal this season. Clearly, he’s a man in form and a look at the next six Gameweeks highlights he also has the fixtures- the ideal Fantasy combination, then.

As highlighted in our recent Watchlist article, Arsenal have the kindest run of upcoming games of any top-flight side, with four of the next six games at the Emirates. With (SWA, bla, BOL, tot, SUN, STK) up next, it’s fair to say there’s a substantial chance of the Gunners scoring in every one of those fixtures and although Robin Van Persie will no doubt be the preferred option by many, Walcott is finally showing the consistency that has previously failed him and made him such a frustrating Fantasy choice.

Priced at 9.0 and owned by just 76K Fantasy managers, he looks like flying under the radar in the meantime, though with Brendan Rodgers’ Swansea arriving at the Emirates this Saturday, Walcott looks in the mood to change all that.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Sorry for another rate my team guys.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Schwarzer Al-Habsi
Bosingwa Dunne Berra De Laet Caulker
    Silva O'Hara Moses ? ?
    Van Persie Rooney Bent

I've got 12.5 million to spend on 2 midfielders, Arteta and Dyer? Brunt and Sinclair?

Artera and Dyer would round things off nicely to produce a very alternative team (I think O'Hara's stats mean he is coming back into people's reckoning). Interesting keeper combo. I don't feel Schwarzer gets the recognition he deserves on here. TBF Given and Dunne defended like beavers v Russ so I can understand why that isn't going to change as people favour Villa's defence and Given.

Possibly Dunne to Hutton, as it still keeps things looking different?

Any advice? I set my team up with the first 3-4 games in mind. Now the hard work starts. I have a terrible GW for my team and need to get a couple of players in to rescue some points. I like to plan for the future with transfers so will disregard any Liverpool and Man United players due to their tough fixtures.

    My team is:

    Given
    Vorm

    Baines
    R Taylor
    Simpson
    Ward
    Warnock

    Sinclair
    Malouda
    Lampard
    Moses
    Jarvis

    Graham
    Bent
    Torres

I would like to get at least one Arsenal attacking player (preferably Walcott or Van Persie). I would consider both of them. However that means losing Torres and Malouda (the later might not start so I am happy with that). The other problem I have is that it doesn't strengthen my first choice XI as my bench stays the same.

Another alternative is to get Brunt (Malouda) and Walcott (Moses). This strengthens my first XI by removing Simpson from my first team and adding Walcott to my XI. However I am worried that I am going to regret not transferring in RVP.

    So in short

Brunt & Walcott for Moses (or Sinclair) & Malouda

    or

RVP & Walcott for Torres & Malouda

    or

    another alternative?

    Confused!!

I had the Chelsea players in for the start of the season. Will Mata start? Will Malouda start? Am looking to ween 1 or 2 of them out for Arsenal players (catch them before they hit form).

Is Nasri fit to play this on Saturday?

arsenal were in such a mess just a couple of weeks ago. Can't see them start high flying all of a sudden.

They're still very much in a mess at the min but the fixtures say they should find form. Time will tell. Vermaelen needs to be back sharpish to sort out their defensive woes.

I'm really confused about some people's philosophy on hard fixtures. As shown, Man Utd, City & Liverpool have produced so far in 'hard fixtures' against Arsenal & Spurs. You have to have someone from the top teams each week, they're top players at top teams. Having no Liverpool or Utd players because they go to Stoke or Chelsea or Everton or wherever is just crazy...

I know what you're saying but taking that theory to its conclusion, I could have had Arse & Totty defence last gw 😉

Given the situation, I don't think Arse or Totty could be considered 'top team' at the moment 🙂

Exactly. There are few players who will shine regardless of fixture. Rooney, VDV, RVP for example.

This is a stupid debate that I'm tired of getting into. let's just all agree that you're wrong.

I think you're sort of right, for what it's worth. Besides, if you only play the fixtures you turn into Jamsiep. That should be warning enough.

On a wildcard, going for something like this:

    Krul Vorm

Bosingva Enrique Ward De Laet Simpson

    Silva Walcott Brunt Hunt Dyer

    Rooney RVP Suarez/Dzeko

I'll probably get Dzeko, since city's fixtures are way better. However, not too happy about my midfield, WBA not too great away from home and Hunt hasn't really startet firing despite his ICT index. Also a little light in defence, but you gotta sacrifice to get both RVP and Rooney I guess.

Any thoughts as to how I might improve my team? Without removing RVP and Rooney? Maybe a cheaper attacker ala Ruiz, Holt, Adebayor?

Exactly the same team as me other than silva>nasri and Simpson>Hughes
      So I give you 9/10

Ok, so this is how my squad is looking for GW4.

    Please RMT,

    Given/Vorm
    Ward/Kompany/Bosingwa/De Laet/R.Taylor
    Young/Silva/Arteta/Brunt/Dyer
    RVP/Dzeko/Ruiz

    1.3 in the bank

I'm playing some form but mostly fixtures.

Thoughts and ratings out of 10 appreciated.

      I'd give it an 8
      very very decent
R Taylor could be a problem and Dzeko couldn't have been happy to hear Mrs Tevez is moving to Manchester but overall a very nice team
