A strong run of upcoming fixtures for Arsenal sees Theo Walcott ranked highly on our updated Watchlist.

Having suffered an ankle injury during pre-season, the winger made a tentative beginning to the campaign as Arsene Wenger eased him back into first-team action with a thirty minute sub appearance in the opener at Newcastle. Since returning to full fitness, however, Walcott has been a key figure as the Gunners look to rebuild following a summer of key departures.

His contribution to Arsenal’s Champions League qualifying campaign proved crucial, scoring home and away against Udinese as Wenger’s side secured a place in the group stages at the Italian club’s expense. Walcott also scored in the recent 8-2 humiliation at Old Trafford, meaning he has netted three times in four starts for Arsenal this season. Clearly, he’s a man in form and a look at the next six Gameweeks highlights he also has the fixtures- the ideal Fantasy combination, then.

As highlighted in our recent Watchlist article, Arsenal have the kindest run of upcoming games of any top-flight side, with four of the next six games at the Emirates. With (SWA, bla, BOL, tot, SUN, STK) up next, it’s fair to say there’s a substantial chance of the Gunners scoring in every one of those fixtures and although Robin Van Persie will no doubt be the preferred option by many, Walcott is finally showing the consistency that has previously failed him and made him such a frustrating Fantasy choice.

Priced at 9.0 and owned by just 76K Fantasy managers, he looks like flying under the radar in the meantime, though with Brendan Rodgers’ Swansea arriving at the Emirates this Saturday, Walcott looks in the mood to change all that.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Really like the front 3...Is Santos a definite starter now that Gibbs is nearing full fitness?
I'd prefer Walcott to Arteta and Brunt to Tchoyi.

    WC final draft (hopefully)

    Vorm Krul - Rotate well
Baines Bosingwa Brown Simpson De Laet (last 3 rotate well for 3rd spot)
Nasri Arteta Jarvis Petrov Cabaye (With Jarvis, Petrov and Cabaye rotating)
    Suarez Rooney Dzeko

should I be concerned that my only Arsenal coverage is Arteta?
    Thoughts?

    Krul/Vorm
    DeLaet Ward Enrique (Simpson) (Lopez)
    Cleverley Silva Young Mata (Dyer)
    Dzeko Suarez Rooney

Im thinking of getting Arteta and Adebayor in for Cleverly and Suarez. this would leave me with Arsenal and Spurs coverage and enrique as Liverpool coverage. So what say you? make the changes?

I've got the same predicament. I was thinking of transferring out Suarez + Jarvis for Arteta + Adebayor.

Suarez is a good player.. but he's due a rest at some point (i.e. his form will drop eventually) and imo, I don't see him being as prolific a goal scorer as Adebayor, despite his good start.

In your case, I'd definitely swap because I sincrely doubt cleverleys potential over the whole season too, from a fantasy football perspective.

Really can't see it, though I know what you're saying about sod's law. Really surprised people were taken in by him after Stoke (not that I'm immune from those sort of mistakes). The thing is, the likes of Sess and Moses have been looking dangerous and unlucky not to be in the points (granted, they are cheaper), whilst Torres' lethargy just shouts "sell me!" (Fantasy and real-life). If I sold Torres I would take great comfort knowing it won't come back to bite me. However, people have been selling the likes of Tim Cahill and Bent recently; they're the type of sales that will come back and haunt people.

Chicarito was good last year and no doubt will start scoring very soon. I think i've talked myself into it now with a bit of help from yersell.

Sounds about right for a guy with Suarez (C) for 4 points, Graham and Saha up front.

Probably hurt, a lot, losing out on the 40 points molre a Rooney (c) would have earned you.

I always play my wildcard after the transfer window closes.

I originally went for 3-5-2 this week but the Jarvis injury and my not liking having that 3rd striker has made me change for the umpteenth time this week:

    Given (Vorm)
De Laet, Brown, Ward (RTaylor) (Simpson)
    Nasri, Young, Anderson, Silva (Dyer)
    Dzeko(C), Rooney(V), Suarez

Any views on the team appreciated!

Thought about RVP, but I just feel at the moment that City and United are capable of outscoring anyone the way they are playing. City vs Wigan any of the 3 I've got could get a hatful. Bolton will be tough for United but I feel there are goals there. Arsenal will do well against Swansea I accept that.

unfortunately also Aguero or Tevez could get a hatful. it's true that at least 1 of your cover should get some assists then. I still think it's a bit of an overload, especially long term.
isn't it better to do Nasri -> Arteta and upgrade someone in the defence?

Yeah I have my doubts whether Dzeko will start. I know he banged 4 goals in the previous game but with all the strikers Mancini has to pick from... vs Wigan he could put any team he wanted out. No disrespect to Wigan. My gut instinct says he will stick with Dzeko with Aguero behind him.

Get what you are saying about the overload, but I can think of an argument for all those players being there at the moment. I had Bosingwa and shockingly sold him at 5.5m. Gutted. I'd like to see how the Arsenal line up with all these new signings, particularly their midfield.

Think your attack is fine, obviously a question mark over Jarvis if he plays. For me, Man Utd are always capable of shipping the odd goal or two so prefer to pick their attacking players, but Smalling is capable of an assist of maybe popping up with a goal from a set piece. Will Toure start this weekend?

With Enrique and Bos (your bankers for most weeks), there's good rotation concerning your cheapies all round who obviously accomodate the big-hitters. I think doubling up defensively on defenders epitomises the fun of FPL!

        Small bits of tinkering:
Caulker for N Taylor (or even Simpson)
        Plus...
        Nasri for Silva
        Petrov for Moses

Bizaarely, Vorm could be an inspired choice this week. Rob Green didn't even keep a CS and he got 11 points, I think, at the Emirates last season. Vorm himself got 3 points with no bonus playing against City.

Not that obvious I don't think. If Arsenal as expected are on top, Vorm could easily get 4 or 5 pts from saves alone and if they get a pen and Van P does what he did against Utd, thats another 5! Stoke the more likely to get the clean sheet, but just as likely to conceed 1, maybe gamble and go Vorm!

hey guys, i need some advice with my wildcard team. currently it looks like this, but i think it's quite unbalanced and i don't like to miss out on villa defence cover and liverpool cover, however, i have no idea how to fit them in. any ideas?

    Rooney + Suarez

    to

    Hernandez + RVP

I think I'm gonna do it. SAF seems happy with 4-4-2 and Chicarito is still next after Rooney in forward pecking order.

I'm sure Rooney will be looking to serve up chances too for him too.. he looooooooves playing with him apparently.

For me, Rooney and Suarez are fixture proof. Hernandez is guaranteed goals but Fergie has the likes of Welbeck and Berba to pick from also. At least you know Rooney will always start. Suarez has either scored or assisted in 6 of Liverpools 9 goals so far this season.

        I'm going RvP.

He scored against Utd (decent finish) and 4 past San Marino (yes, I know its San Marino) but he's got the potential to score big over the next few weeks.

Rooney, everyone else has. If he outscores RvP I know its a screw up, but as a big price differential its tipping my thinking for sure.

I have Young and Walcott so in a way have both 'covered', however Arsenal's run looks nicer, so thinking Walcott + RVP may work out better than having both Young + Rooney.

So you'd prefer a Newcastle defense vs. Utd rather than a Utd defense vs. Newcastle?

Not a perfect analogy, to be sure, but a generic point is there.

I am preparing myself for the time I have to downgrade him (which may not be such a bad thing with Chelsea's shaky back line at the mo and the need to fund an expanding MF). Having had to get rid of Richards after his 1 point at Bolton, I'm becoming hardy to these inevitable dispapointments.

However, if Luiz is benched then he's looking like an absolute bargain.

yes he was on bench in everton's last game. he played in Australia's first international last week, didn't have much of an impact and was on bench in the second international, so yeah i wouldnt be rushing him into your fantasy league side until he hits some form, which he will, but not before a price drop
