Before all the Rooney vice-captains come into play and we can concentrate on European endeavours for a couple of days we’ve got the Joey Barton of all match-ups.

The prickly character sees us open the Dugout Discussion as manager Neil Warnock hands him the armband against his old side Newcastle – not one to flounce under the radar, clearly. QPR are in fact rocking a whole host of new signings while Alan Pardew recalls Shola Ameobi in place of Peter Lovenkrands. Sides in full are…

QPR XI: Kenny; Young, Gabbidon, Ferdinand, Traore; Barton, Derry, Faurlin, Taarabt, Wright-Phillips; Bothroyd.

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, S. Taylor, Coloccini, R. Taylor; Obertan, Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Best, Ameobi.

Let us close the gameweek together in the Dugout Discussion and watch the sparks fly.

I meant in GW4 he would resemble what Torres did by scoring a point and that everyone rushing to get him in would be a mistake.
P.S I got him in so I'm flawed.

ha I wrote a huge piece how he would be definitely be rested against Wigan. It was clear (to me anyways) that as he was the only of the three fit strikers to have two extremely testing International games that he would most likely be kept for Napoli. Coupling that with the fact that Tevez needed a start, I chose Tevez!

Thought I was a genious when the team sheets went out Saturday (as I captained said Argentinian) and he subsequently stepped up for a penalty : but lo and behold I was just too smart for my own ghood!

If I had even chosen Dzeko I wouldve had Rooney Captain today! Idont think i have ever had a captain score a BIG FAT ZERO!!

You should take the username down though!

sorry to ask, but when do BP's come through?

I proffered the old 'judges' system. made for much more interesting debate and wasn't based on a generic stats analysis computer programme. The points for scoring, assists and clean sheets are the hard points now BP's are just an extension of these. BP's should have remained a human element.

the biggest downfall of the stats imo is there are no stats for cock-ups, just positive bits of play. you could score 3 own goals then go up the field and have a shot on target and out score someone who did neither.

All a bit overboard on this Rooney thing .

Remember it was an Arsenal containing Traore, jenkinson, djourou & Coquilan , and Bolton are shipping goals so far this season. Chelsea, stoke, man city, pool & Everton in next few games will surely yeild nothing like the first few games . Im certainly not captaining , and woud love to find someone to sell him for . If I didnt alreaady have RVP or Arguaro doesnt play midweek id consider.
Rooney's been around for a while and has only once has got over 15 goals a season ,

He is unplayable at the minute. I think you'd be mad to even think about not having him in your team. Fixtures or not, he is right on top of his game.

I think it goes without saying that he won't keep up this goalscoring rate, or he'd end up with 76 goals in the league alone - but there is no striker in the league I'd have him over him right now tbh.

United have been absolutely tearing teams apart. It's great to watch, really enjoying this season already.

Well, first and foremost i'm a Leicester fan.

I'm a massive fan of Arsenal, just because of the way they play and the running of the club. I like City as well, I studied in Manchester and they always had mad cheap student tickets, so we started going to the games the season before the money came in, then I went off them for a bit when they started going wild, but now I'm starting to enjoy them again.

Bit complicated, essentially just a Leicester fan who likes Arsenal and City.

probably not but that is a ridiculous way to approximate form and to decide your transfers! Ive had Rooney since GW1, captained him twice o I cant be called up for Kneejerking.

ATM Rooneys ownership is such that any high score will leave you in trouble if you dont have him.

Form is huge in this game and looking at fixtures and saying he wont do as good the next few games is not the way to play the game.

So who, in your wisdom will outscore Rooney in the next few gws? I accept that someone will more than likely but your guess is as good as mine so its best you stick to form and Rooney is in Top Form atm

Just don't like that midfield at all, Dyer and Ferguson both deadweights. At least downgrade Walcott for Arteta or Ramsey.

Dyer is the only option at 4.6 range and has showed potential at least. And he will play

Walcott played central at times and even though dire at times prob should have got a goal or two
Just dont see attacking returns for Ramsey (may lose his place to Wilshire) or Arteta.

Its a risk on Ferguson but i think its worth it.

Man I wish I'd captained Hernandez or Silva...still, first 2 point captain of the season, and just about managed 50 points. Interesting to see how it plays out but dropping Rooney has definitely got me interested, I like the look of the next few weeks...

Not really liking my team at all, but thinking of no transfers for this week and save them for the next.

    Vorm

    Bosingwa Mertesacker Kompany

    Dyer Walcott Brunt Silva

    RVP Bendtner Rooney

Subs: Given Cabaye De Laet Simpson

He did some very good things but got nothing out of it. Story of his season so far, hard to justify the 6.5 price tag but he's a great player to watch.

Seems Best is the main man at the moment but that could easily change.
