Before all the Rooney vice-captains come into play and we can concentrate on European endeavours for a couple of days we’ve got the Joey Barton of all match-ups.

The prickly character sees us open the Dugout Discussion as manager Neil Warnock hands him the armband against his old side Newcastle – not one to flounce under the radar, clearly. QPR are in fact rocking a whole host of new signings while Alan Pardew recalls Shola Ameobi in place of Peter Lovenkrands. Sides in full are…

QPR XI: Kenny; Young, Gabbidon, Ferdinand, Traore; Barton, Derry, Faurlin, Taarabt, Wright-Phillips; Bothroyd.

Newcastle XI: Krul; Simpson, S. Taylor, Coloccini, R. Taylor; Obertan, Tiote, Cabaye, Gutierrez; Best, Ameobi.

Let us close the gameweek together in the Dugout Discussion and watch the sparks fly.

Taarabt is at the heart of everything QPR are doing, but SWP has looked more likely to get points in this game. I'd prefer Taaraby personally long-term (I've got him, though, so I could be biased!)

I have Taarabt myself since I believe him being first choice on most set-pieces will be the difference between the two.

Taarabt is running the show, whilst SWP looks like profiting from his excellent passes from the centre. Barton doing well in midfield, some shrewd business on first impressions.

If (when?) QPR bring on Jason Puncheon to run, run, run, run on the other side of the pitch they'll have to get something.

I absolutely hate to admit this, but GNev is a good pundit. (*washes mouth out with soap*)
He's less fidgety tahn he was in his first few appearances and seems pretty clued in.
It would be brilliant if they teamed him up with Jamie Carra when he retires

I'm going to watch Man City v Napoli on Wednesday to see if it helps me guess Mancini's team for Sunday.

Looking forward to seeing Ibra against the club he left so acrinomously last summer, although it will probably go badly for Milan.

Ryan Taylor and Shola Ameobi are still on the pitch, Demba Ba and Santon on the bench. I do not understand.

Maybe in the prem, but messi on 8 goals and 4 assist already! 3 against real. Different class to Bolton, 2 against Villarreal!

Please bring on Santon. How long do players have to stay on the pitch to be credited with a clean sheet?

Not fit and we're on the back foot a lot, can't see it happening at 0-0 unless there's an injury...
