Patience, the antithesis of our oft-used phrase ‘knee jerk’ is the theme that runs through our latest Podcast episode.

Mark is adamant that he’s set to stand by his men, despite paltry returns thus far. Having missed out on the Wayne Rooney hat-tricks though, can he really afford to risk another avalanche?

Also in discussion this week – dubious pinball assists and Dzeko rotation pains, all blended with the usual mix of moans, speculative opinions and random musings that make up the regular ScoutCast offering.

From previous seasons, I'd say Johnson, but there is a rumour 'round de interweb that Ward may play as a makeshift striker this weekend because of an injury to Fletcher. Looks like Ward will play as a defender at least so it's probably worth the gamble t go with him in hte event that he bags (at least) an assist.

Yeah - agreed, I'm dubious myself and at the cost (4.7 right now) I'm not convinced (cue hat trick...). Using my WC and I have 4.8 for a defender... I went for Woodgate, and am putting him in my starting line up. I think they have a good shot at a cleanie away to a misfiring Sunderland at the mo'. Fully expect Sunderland to be top 10 by the end of the season, but right now they're struggling for form imho.

      Vorm
Taylor and either Bos or Simpson (Bos could be involved going forward, Simpson the greater CS chance, maybe go for Bos as he's more money to bench and has a higher points ceiling than Simpson's 6 on a good day - presuming no more silly bonuses)

Crikey! Give Arteta a chance - rusty after coming back from injury and going to a new club, but despite that he (anecdoteally) put in a good performance in the Swansea game. I'd suspect with the departure of Nasri and Fabregas (sniff, sniff) he should get an opportunity to get on the ball quite a bit.

Soup & any of the usual FIFA heads -

Have you played the demo's for FIFA12/Pro Evo? Which are you going with?
I always preferred the Pro Evo of old but the last couple have been a bit naff so I defected to FIFA. If the new one is a return to form it'll be a hard choice.

Similarly Jamsie P - are you going for Battlefield 3 or MW3?

So many good games due out all at once, choices choices. Incidentally the one I'm most looking forward to is Skyrim, loved Oblivion, amazingly good escapism. It's up there with the early Champ Managers/Football manager, Sensible World of Soccer, early Total Wars as one of my favourite games of all time. Skyrim looks potentially like it will exceed Oblivion too. Noice.

Ha myself and Jamsie would hammer ya.
Well I'd do my usual tactic of charging headlong WWI style while he does his usual sneaking about hiding and shooting in the back style.

Demolition is probably the game type I've played the most. Love getting in behind the enemy, setting a tactical insertion, and then picking them all off time and time again as they charge, Attila style, straight for the bomb sites.

Yeah, never really played SnD on Black Ops, used to play it a fair bit on MW2, although that's mainly because one of my mates would insist that we played it every time. Fortunately he hated Black Ops so I could escape from playing it!

It's pretty hard. I've only scored twice in 6 world class games. Keep losing 1-0. Getting the ball to the striker is so hard, I even ended up playincg Chamakh over RvP at one stage for a better goal threat from crosses.

With a bit of practice I'll be alright, I used to be quite fiendish back in the days of FIFA 2005, but I stopped playing properly after that. The new defending on 12 is fecking impossible. Remy keeps running rings around Subotic and Hummels as they lunge into hideously mistimed tackles.

ha! I'd forgotten about that! Terrible times. See I was actually quite good at the last one, at least when it first came out, but I lacked the dedication (read: I was playing COD all the time instead) so you guys completely overtook me. Remember having some decent games with Akers, but he kept scoring last minute goals. Unbelievable Jeff.

Got the last Battlefield, enjoyed it. Some aspects better than COD, but not as slick and the levels seemed smaller. Bit more restrictive as well in terms of weaponry.

I'll probably end up getting 'em both myself, but might get MW3 first. Its hard work switching from one to t'other as the buttons etc are pretty different.

had Taar for the first few games and he did nothing. Just got rid of Sinc & Moses for the same reason. Bent is a ball breaker - got to expect he will repay you in the long term but is unlikely to set the world on fire in any one game. So...

      GK and defense are good
Hang onto Lamps, Taar (SWP will help him)

the rest, well - you could get lucky with them but I'd start looking to form at this stage, and drop the players that are showing little.

Its a gutsy team Ninja so well done! Strongly suggest you take the following with a pinch of salt... you may be happy with some of your team so stick to your guns.

GK: Definitely Vorm, Krul - fair enough. I'd prob stretch to Given, Begovic, Foster or even Al Habsi (aprticularly coz you have Simpson in defence and I ate doubling up on defenders).

Defence: Ward has surprised me this year. Always a bit dubious about the wolves defence - personally would go for Woodgate in the short term and save a few quid.

Silva, Petrov (bol) and dyer: yes, yes, yes. Mata (unproven in the prem) and jarvis (back from injury) - not so sure.

Rooney - yep. RVP - I need to see him hit form in the prem in this new Arsenal team; Agbon - at the price he's a good pick, but I'd go for Klasnic - he's in form and at home to Norwich this weekend (and 0.4 cheaper).

    Stick with Brunt guys

Of the 6.0 or less midfielders, he has far the best fixtures and hes on set pieces

Petrov has a nice game this week but then goes tough again.
