Patience, the antithesis of our oft-used phrase ‘knee jerk’ is the theme that runs through our latest Podcast episode.

Mark is adamant that he’s set to stand by his men, despite paltry returns thus far. Having missed out on the Wayne Rooney hat-tricks though, can he really afford to risk another avalanche?

Also in discussion this week – dubious pinball assists and Dzeko rotation pains, all blended with the usual mix of moans, speculative opinions and random musings that make up the regular ScoutCast offering.

I have 1 mil in bank

any value in getting dorrans in for dyer

i have brunt already so maybe overload

but 1 of them would be a sub each week like dyer is for me

and having their 2 main pen takers would be good

No, it's not worth it. Don't have two mids from West Brom. Invest the money elsewhere and increase your options for when WBA aren't viable.

cheers i think i will stay with brunt because as captain i still think he is more nailed on long term than dorrans

i could upgrade simpson to warnock in defence

        good move ?

    A bit off topic...

But where will people be buying FIFA 12 this year? Pre-order or wait for the probable supermarket war? I work near a H-U-G-E 24hr Tesco so will prob wait myself. If I remember correctly last year they did it for like £25 on launch day, could be wrong.

Either way, I'm sure it'll save a tenner on going to Game.

Bit of help needed, play Yossi or Shawx this weekend? Shawx away from home after tough European fixture and long haul flight. Yossi not assured to start but had a day's extra rest and was very good v Dortmund. Reasons would be appreciated.

Had a moment of madness last week and switched out Walters for him, to get what proved to be useless Arsenal coverage. Walters 10 points, Yossi 1. Serves me right I suppose. But I want to be patient this week.

I dont wanna put people off captaining Baines as he could pick up some attacking points but i would put money on Wigan scoring, would be classic Everton, i wouldnt even be that surprised to see Wigan win...

This is making me think twice about benching Moses... Selection headache this week. Trying to fit in Yossi, but don't want to lose Shawcross. For Moses, it'd have to be Sess out. I feel it's his week though.

With Arteta simingly playing in a more defensive midfield role. How will this effect his scoring? Any other midfielders i should consider to transfer him for? Got 0,5 in the bank. The other I have are Taarabt, Mata, Cabeye and Tchoyi. Was thinking of Tchoyi out and Sinclair in. Swansea must score soon.

Anybody envisaging Dzecko being dropped again? I'm considering putting Sturridge in for him as soon as it turns over into the next game week.

Does everybody consider Sturridge as the best lower price differencial to Dzecko or do you have other opinions?

I'll probably be getting Sturridge after this GW. But, I think Dzeko will play. He didn't get a full 90 v Napoli. It'a Aguero (unless he's undroppable?) or Tevez's turn on the bench.

Wouldnt drop Dzeko now, hold it a bit, even if he didnt play last gw he still has averaged 2 goals per game last 2 gameweeks 😉

but if he is benched this gw too, sell for sure, cant see it tho, mancini will look to keep his form up, and another goal galore from him wouldnt do your weekend any good

and 11.0 agueromillons at the bench would hurt even more, but in order to get a cut from the free flowing city goals we might just have to accept it and have a strong benchwarmer ready to step in whenever needed. Thus far, it looks to pay off in the long run

Reposting this since only one guy answered last time around.Would love to hear some more opinions.Who to sell Toure for?Silva or Young?Current team is:

      Given,Ruddy,

      Baines,Lescott,Bosingwa,Simpson,De Laet,

      Sess,Toure,Sinclair,Moses,Surman,

      Suarez,Rooney,Dzeko.(2.9 in bank)

I know United have tough fixtures coming up,but I still think Young will do well. Also don't want to miss out on his "assists" for Rooney's free-kicks.But Silva has raped me in these first four weeks.Still, having averted a hit for Silva last week,I’m more tempted by Young now.Thoughts?

          Silva, Sessegnon, Moses, Jarvis, Arteta
          Rooney, Suarez, Long

I'm aware I need to make some changes, maybe 2, particularly in midfield/attack. Could someone have a look and let me know what my priorities should be? I'm thinking Andy Johnson and Moses need to go but they don't free up much cash (I have £0M in bank), maybe I should use Suarez as a makeweight?

          Squad:

          Given, Vorm
          Mertesacker, Clichy, Bosingwa, Simpson, Brown,
          Silva, Young, Brunt, Mata, Moses
          Bent, Suarez, A Johnson

I wouldn't back an Arsenal defence so I'd take him Mert out for Shawcross, Stoke are solid this year, that might give you enough funds to change A Johnson for Sturridge.

I like to be cautious in the first few GWs of a season.

I have Rooney, Silva and RVP, however... I think Silva could quite possibly start as sub, or come off early (around 65-70). RVP is only owned by 6.2% and I'm not, as of yet, needing a differential.

Therefore, I'm thinking Rooney at OT is the safer captain pick.

Any reasoning to the above or did I have too many Birra Moretti's last night? 🙂

Arsenal don't look very good and although RVP is class even if he does score very well, with only 6.2% currently owning him, it'll be a very nice differential score.

Had he been owned by more, then I may have captained him, we're only 4 GWs in.

Don't bother with WBA defenders. They may aswell all be worth 4m. No one stands out in an attacking sense and they're poor at the back. Downgrade. De Laet or Gabbidon maybe.

As own-goals go, this one from the Under-23 Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Cup match between Al-Hilal and Al-Ansar is a pretty impressive team effort. First the Al-Hilal keeper messes it up, and then his defensive colleague steps in to finish it off:

I don't think you'll beat Chris Brass' one.

The one where he kicks it against his face, breaks his nose and the ball flies into the net.

Nah, Pavol ÄŽurica's own-goal still rules for me. An artistic curling finish, and it knocked his team FC Fehérvár out of the quarter-finals of the 2008 Hungarian Cup.

ÄŽurica never played for the club again, poor bloke.

Hello guys, a recurring siteh question: Nasri and Dzeko, what are their chances of starting? Nasri in particular. Should I keep him or change to mata?

Have you got Silva? You need some Citeh attacking coverage. Nasri will play a lot, as will Dzeko. Unfortunately, the wealth of options available to them means they'll rotate when feasible. I've got my eye on Mata too. But at the expense of Silva, no way.

Well i just have nasri and Dzeko. I know i just seem to have got the city attacking coverage all wrong last week. If I get it wrong again id want to switch nasri to silva. But I am hoping they both start this weekend. Im certain dzeko will.

Don't waste a transfer on it then. I reckon Citeh will line up as they did at WHL, maybe with Tevez instead of Aguero.

          Which would you start:

          Vorm (WBA at home)
          Given (Newcastle at home)

Given has slightly more chance of a cleanie, but Vorm seems to be class at home.

At the risk of sounding facetious - why do you have that combo when they plainly don't rotate?

Who fancies The Arse for a clean sheet away to Blackburn tomorrow? Tempted to get Gibbs in ...

Maybe... Blackburn haven't struggled to create chances, but they have been wasteful. It depends on who starts up top for Blackburn. I wouldn't use a transfer on chasing an Arsenal cleanie though.

Nice. I think you're probably right. Not to many nailed on clean-sheets this week. Maybe it's time to FINALLY bring Danny Simpson off the bench ...

Anybody else really fancying SWP? I've whacked him in, away vs wolves isn't easy but he has a lot to prove and he looked so hungry. I think he'll be the next big band wagon within a few weeks.

If he gets a decent run of games plays more centrally as Warnock has intimated and their strikers begin to hoover up some of the opportunities - then a resounding yes, but may be worth adopting a few weeks "wait and see strategy"

Is it worth getting a Wolves player in just for this week? I'm thinking Jarvis or Ward could be good bets. Is Fletcher out?

Actually just swapped captaincy back from RVP to Rooney....its a fixture thing. Can't face an entire weekend if RVP messes up early sat afternoon. At least Rooney on sun at 4pm gives me hope. RVP is still a lovely differential.

          Rooney(c) Adebyaor Suarez

          I've got 1 FT left..Thoughts?

Eugh. I think this is the hardest captaining choice i've ever had because of how many people have Rooney (C). Stay with the pace, don't risk anything, if he fails everyone does....or gamble on someone who could be a huge differential and a huge catch up in mini-leagues if Rooney doesn't score or assist.

Torn between Rooney, Dzeko, Bent, Osma and maybe Mata.

I really dont think Bent has any better chances against a tight newcastle than Rooney has against Chelsea, Untied always scores at home. If only Mancini could confirm Dzeko to start, I would pick him, but as it is, I wont
Dont have high expectaions about my captain Rooney tho, a dodgy penealty goal will do

Anyways, I think it is too early in the season to think about what others might choose and do, just pick the players and captains that you think will get the most points, imo
