Roberto Mancini has tonight stated that he wants Carlos Tevez “out of the club” after the Argentinian striker refused to play a part from the bench in City’s Champions League tie in Munich.

In a story that will likely run and run over the coming days, the Italian has tonight made a damning statement that appears to break Tevez’ ties with the club once and for all.

“If I have my way he will be out of the club. He’s finished with me…For me it’s a bad situation. In a game like this it’s important for a player to help the team. This is impossible.”

Tevez appeared to be openly objecting to Mancini on the bench in the second-half; the City boss later revealing that he had intended on introducing the striker in an attempt to recover tonight’s 2-0 defeat to an impressive Bayern outfit.

“He refused to come on the pitch. What I said to Carlos is between me, him and the team…I am really disappointed because it is Carlos…We will speak about this with the chairman in the next few days.”

Developments will undoubtedly unfold over the rest of the week, but tonight’s events and particularly Mancini’s comments, will now surely bring the Tevez situation to a head following a turbulent spell at the club.

“If we want to improve as team Carlos can’t play with us. With me, he is finished.”

For Fantasy managers, should Tevez be frozen out at City, it will certainly reduce the uncertainty surrounding the rotation of Mancini’s strikers – presumably cementing Sergio Aguero’s starting role further.

Certainly Aguero’s start for Saturday’s trip to Blackburn looks assured after Mancini also moved to punish Edin Dzeko’s petulance following his substitution in tonight’s game. Dzeko was replaced on 55 minutes by Nigel De Jong, reacting angrily to the decision from his manager. Mancini has stated post-match that the Bosnian striker will now be benched on Saturday as a result.

“Next time he will stay on the bench with me.”

This will come as another blow for Dzeko’s Fantasy owners who have suffered nothing but uncertainty since his four goal spree at White Hart Lane. Mancini will presumably now turn to Mario Balotelli for the Ewood Park trip – a player who has himself courted controversy during his City career.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    So if Dzeko and Tevez are benched for the Blackburn fixture does that mean Balotelli gets a look? Or will Mancini go back to the dreaded two holding midfielders formation with Barry/De Jong?

      Tevez and Dzeco wont play. What no one has discussed is the affect in football terms tonite will have on Man City. They were poor tonite anyway.I wouldnt now take away to Blackburn as easy.

    I very much dislike how early transfers seem to be "the way" this season.

    I usually wait to make my transfers on Fri eve(america), but this season it has cost me 0.2 or more each week.

    Thinking I got to find a way to get Nani in ASAP

    Rooney -> Adebayor
    Walcott -> Nani

    4 points be damned!

    If only Wellbeck was playin this weekend

          put it this way, no chelsea cover isn't so bad when you have no idea who're going to get the points.

          it's looking very likely that nani will get points at norwich, especially as he didnt play much tonight.

          if i could get nani in 1 transfer i would do it, but as need 2 or lose rooney i'm tempted to wait for that elusive rooney tweet

    I'm close to making the a move tonight:
    rooney->agbonlahor
    cabaye->nani
    (1.6 spare)

    cos even if rooney plays norwich he has 2 hard fixtures after, plus Nani’s price will rise tonight.

    Or should I wait for further news, as I can afford Nani’s pice rise and I’d be losing 0.3 if I had to buy Roonpig back in. He's also fixture proof(tho then again so is nani)

    Sort of a funny, off-topic story ...

    About 4 years ago, when MGPederson was firing and Bentley was on the team, I was in a dead heat with my brother in our mini-league.

    He played the 'value game', I didn't - as such, by season's last day, he had like 3.0-4.0 or something more than me in value. Real, on the field value - not stored up, inflated value.

    Anyway, the league title goes down to the last game - Blackburn. He had bought MGP and I had the cheaper, less-productive Bentley.

    Punch line: they tie score, MGP 2 BPs - Bentley 3 BPs. I won the league by a point. Massive scenes 😀

    Point is, I don't let value alone drive my transfer decisions.

        It's just a general 'thing' ... if there are other good reasons for the trade - then do it. If Nani is more nailed on and you have no other Utd cover, then maybe it's the best course to make the trade. The increase is the cherry on top.

        I'd rather Rooney, though ... so I'll wait and decide until last-minute. Whatever he loses, I figure, will be gained back quickly on his return, imo.

          As fpr the van persie cap choice, yeah its a tough one aint it, like u say i think there's gonna be lots of goals, but yeah there's also the the choice of young in my case for norwich, it seems more favourable, but people tend to to favour the more favourable outcomes, whereas nobody will hardly have the bottle to captain someone in a high profile game such as tottenham vs arsenal, i dunno, they might, but its a way of grabbing valuable points i guess, lol i shall sleep on it.

    Not easy to pick a capt this week , Rooney injury very bad timing.

    However if there is a slight chance of him playing best to keep him in and let auto sub remove him when he dosent play.

    Question is though , is it worth cataining Rooney? Downside is that vice capt dosent play and left with no capt. But if Rooney did play then upside would be potentially huge

      I'm just worried by a 15 minute cameo if he's only fit for the bench and it's a draw and he's bought on and doesn't score.

      I'm going for Nani, just as safe this week if they both play IMO.

      sounds like a good idea, Nasri dosent appear to be as fantasy relevent at city as he was at arsenal

    Not making transfers yet but i've got Rooney and Dzeko which could be problematic and I really want Nani.
    So i'm considering..

    Rooney & Brunt -> Nani & Drogba/Hernandez
    or
    Dzeko & Lescott -> Aguero & Kompany
    or
    Dzeko & Brunt -> Nani & Sturridge

    Soo, transferring Aguero and Nani early looks to have paid off.
    Both will surely start now...happy days

        This time last season i was over 105m this season it only about 102

        Mind you the speed at which players are falling should mean team value not as relevent this season , after all we all in the same boat

          101.8 if I cash out all players.

          103.6 for face value.. struggingly building team value compared to last year.

    I need to play one and then consider bench order... does this look right?

    Dyer(H vs Stoke) - Play
    Moses(A vs Villa) - 1st Sub
    Simspon(A vs Wolves) - 2nd Sub
    De Laet(A useless tit) - 3rd Sub

      Same set of cheapies for bench/rotation as me..

      I do the same for last 2 spots but considering if I should bet for Moses chance at Villa.

      What do you think?

        I have been considering that as well and the reason I haven't swapped Dyer yet is because I think AV has a better, more consistent D than a Stoke team away from home.

        I figure if Swansea are to score it will be from the speed on the wings, which is where Dyer will benefit. If Wigan score it surely has to be a Dunne OG!? 😉

        Either way, Dzeko might solve my problem for me and I will end up with both. I had Rooney/De Laet red flagged and Dzeko confirmed benched from Mancini... so I swapped Rooney/Sess for Nani/Ade (It seems like I would end up + even if Rooney does play over the next few GWs).

    Tevez being a petulant twit has really brightened up my week. Aguero will definitely be my captain unless Rooney makes a miraculous full recovery.
