Manchester City have tonight released a statement on their official website announcing the suspension of Carlos Tevez with immediate effect.

The ban is thought to last a fortnight and reads in full:

Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks.

The player’s suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way.

Clearly, the club’s owners are lending their full support behind Roberto Mancini after last night’s debacle in the Allianz Arena, where Tevez refused to participate in the game as a second half substitute.

As we reported last night, a visibly shaken and emotional Mancini emerged after the 2-0 defeat and upon speaking to reporters made his feeling crystal clear:

“If I have my way he will be out of the club. He’s finished with me…

For me it’s a bad situation. In a game like this it’s important for a player to help the team. This is impossible.”

Tonight’s statement certainly confirms Tevez will take no part in the weekend match at Blackburn but with a two week international break to follow, the club will likely have the matter resolved before the players return to domestic matters ahead of the home match with Aston Villa in gameweek eight.

The Fantasy prospects of Mario Balotelli will be boosted by the news- the Italian is likely to start at Ewood Park after Edin Dzeko’s strop and if the club subsequently stand by Mancini’s decision to do without the services of Tevez in the long-term, Balotelli -and, ironically Dzeko- look likely to earn more starts than previously anticipated, alongside Mancini’s star forward Sergio Aguero.

        Nice defence haha
Fluked it with Andre Santos in my back 4 😐
Just took a 4 point hit and did Nasri, Hernandez and Gourcuff (dunno why I had them) > Giggs, Mata and Soldado.
I know it's a bit early but I probably won't look at it for another while

Balotelli, Aguero, Barry, Nasri, Dzeko, Milner, Yaya, Hart, Richards, Kompany, A.Johnson, Kolo, Tevez

Oh, dear. Accidently wildcarded last night. I was this far (holds fingers together) to an 8pt hit I just went and did it.

On the plus side though my new team is awesome. Any thoughts on improvements.

    Vorm/Ruddy
    S Taylor - Bos - Kompany- Simpson - NTaylor
    Nani- Young-Silva-MPetrov-NDyer
    Ageuro-Ade-Ba

Plan to swap Young for a slightly cheaper one and upgrade Ba/Ade in gwk 9 to suarez.

Wanted to get RVP in...but at 11.9 and with the need to have at least two good strikers and a good mid and defence I can't really justify getting him. May change my ming though. the bueaty of this is that it gives me flexibility.

Those damn trigger fingers. You need to sit on your hands Jonty.

This is looking pretty peachy, though I'm assuming this means no Rooney in your team for the season? Then again, Nani will probably score equally.

Dunno bout Ade and Ba as long term options. Mid price players like Ba can be really frustrating especially just after they score well... I'd be looking to get Drogba in but that's just me!

The thing about Ba is that from time to time he gets mega points and he is now post ramadan. His early form was put down to that and there's certainly credibility in that. He takes ramadan very, very seriously.

One of Ade and Ba will go by gwk9 so both are expendable, but more than happy to have them especially as fixtures are ok for both.

GWk 9 the plan is that Young and Ade/Ba will become Suarez plus an ok mid like ramsey/barton/SWP...

the problem with my pre wildcard team was that it had no big hitters in mid, and ageuro -dzeko(rotation/stroppy) Rooney (hamstring)...which essentially left me relying on Ageuro.

Sometimes its just time to change.

the beauty of ADe is that he is hot and cold. At the moment though he is hot...his cold streaks with Arsenal usually started after a red or injury....the only problem with him scoring though is that it will be effectively worth 3pts...as he WILL over celebrate and get a yellow at Arsenal.

I'll consider all...but essentially they are al trimmings to the main course which is

                  Nani-Young-Silva-Ageuro-Ade-Bos

Kompany ove the season will be valuable. one reason I've done ok this year has been my defence...those odd 6pt here and there really make the difference.

Stoke's fixtures are poor and Villa I'm just staying clear of at the mo. Petrov is an assist machine...great when bolton's fixtures improve which they do after the break. tiote is the occasional glamour goal dna ssist, but basically a hatchet man who will get 3pt(-1pt yellow) most games.
Krul would be good...but think with S tAylor I'd prefer Al Habsi if I was to upgrade.

                  Good thoughts though.

GKs - Cheap as Chips, nothing wrong with that.
Defence - Template defence BUT are you defo going to go with two Newcastle defenders? I know they have been tight but I'm not sure I would condone that.
Mid - Beautiful. You have went with 3 big 'uns (as opposed to the standard 2) and the bargain players are solid.
Frontline - Ba? Feels a bit jerky to me although he was one of my favourites towards the end of last season. Personally I would rather have RVP up there at the expense of Young in midfield.

see above....this week I'd prefer Young and having him gives me tonnes of flexibility over gw8-9 to downgrade, get RVP, or Suarez...or even Mata if he becomes flavoursome again. Perhaps even VDV.

Young =equals flexibility at this stage...also he has a lovely fixture against Norwich this week.

I like to think I'd have a team very similar to this. Can't believe you wildcarded though! Don't think I would have any different players in there, probably Mata over Young just to save myself the transfer next week, but I understand the doubling up.

I was going to wait, then I remembered last year. I wildcarded in the same break...made about 1m in team value, but....the following week had my worst week so far that season. The first week back after international always throws some wierd results. So this time I thought I'd just get Five reliable performers who are expensive, a solid defence and spread it around with some cheapies with potential and good fixtures.

Question: Fairly happy with my squad, in so much as no major surgery required. Saying that, is it worth using my wildcard next week during the internationals to take advantage of price rises (2 weeks thereof) and to tinker for injuries during the internationals? Team value is struggling and it's burning a hole in my pocket...

I know the fixtures are tempting, but they haven't really meant too much this season so if looking at your team, who would you feel more comfy with having - Adebayor or Agbonlahor?

    Given
    Simpson, R Taylor, Lopez
    Barton, Mata, Silva, Nani
    Aguero, Rooney, Wellbeck

    Bench: Dyer, Shotton, Kelly

Only slight concern is Wellbeck. I'm going to Cpt Rooney with Aguero as VC in case Rooney doesn't play.

    Any thoughts or advice welcome...well....

Midfield at the moment is Nani, Silva, Ndyer, Murphy

Murphy and Dyer being at home.

As QPR nut my view on Taraabt is he needs to play the free role SWP has then he could become a real handful.I believe N zogbia is similiar not players lack of form but more to do with Mcgleishs more negative approach to football, any views on this.

      *McLeish.

and he has to be negative as he doesnt have the quality up top to be attacking every game. Losing Milner, Young, Downing has not helped, bent cant do everything hiself. I rate McLeish as one of the better managers in the PL and he has the CV to prove it.

Comparing to the rest of the league and Villa teams of seasons past it is def weakend. I would go as far as weak frontline, but he will need to strengthen in January.

Enrique (eve) or Simpson (wol) im thining Enrique because of his attacking threat and Evertons weak front line.

Yeah but, Wolves arent exactly setting the world on fire up front and Newcastle on a severe role with strong defence and gk - I have Taylor S and have same decision to make. I havent seen mch from Enrique so far to justify his selection over Taylor to be honest!

They aren't but Stephen Fletcher will be back and i can see him being a handful for Newcastle. Simpson doesnt offer as much of an attacking threat as Saylor, so i think yours is a bit tougher choice but i still think Enrique wins.

They're both good players, who could grab points at either end of the pitch. But Wolves are worse than Everton, so I'm going with Simpson.

Think I'll stick with Dzeko this gw. Mancini's outburst in the heat of the moment can't be taken as gospel. But even if he doesn't play this gw, he's going to be there or thereabouts when it comes to top scorers for the season. If he does play it could be another 4 goals. If he doesn't I've got cover.

        Even so worth keeping.

Has the ability and opportunity if he comes off the bench.

If he doesn't feature it wouldn't really differentiate his minor strop from Tevez's major one.

What Mancini meant was more like "Let's see how he likes it if I bench him!" than " I am going to bench him".

With Tevez out, Dzeko will either play 90 mins or 20 mins... if he doesn't start he'll be on the bench, and if he's on the bench he will almost certainly come on. My bet is he gets 20 mins, I think it's quite a big risk to have him in this weekend.
