Manchester City have tonight released a statement on their official website announcing the suspension of Carlos Tevez with immediate effect.

The ban is thought to last a fortnight and reads in full:

Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks.

The player’s suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way.

Clearly, the club’s owners are lending their full support behind Roberto Mancini after last night’s debacle in the Allianz Arena, where Tevez refused to participate in the game as a second half substitute.

As we reported last night, a visibly shaken and emotional Mancini emerged after the 2-0 defeat and upon speaking to reporters made his feeling crystal clear:

“If I have my way he will be out of the club. He’s finished with me…

For me it’s a bad situation. In a game like this it’s important for a player to help the team. This is impossible.â€

Tonight’s statement certainly confirms Tevez will take no part in the weekend match at Blackburn but with a two week international break to follow, the club will likely have the matter resolved before the players return to domestic matters ahead of the home match with Aston Villa in gameweek eight.

The Fantasy prospects of Mario Balotelli will be boosted by the news- the Italian is likely to start at Ewood Park after Edin Dzeko’s strop and if the club subsequently stand by Mancini’s decision to do without the services of Tevez in the long-term, Balotelli -and, ironically Dzeko- look likely to earn more starts than previously anticipated, alongside Mancini’s star forward Sergio Aguero.

Evra was so bad last night. The way he nonchalantly strolled back for their second goal was ridiculous. Where are all the good LB's in the world.

      Not playing for Liverpool. 😛

It was Jonas making Enrique look good. Oh and cue Jamsie P with a comment about the brilliant (if pretty shit) BAE.

Evra's started this season the way he played last. He's 30 now, think we need to sign someone next summer. Even if it's just for competition.

When's Fabio going to finally mature / stop being injured??

Is he talented enough for MU??

Easily talented enough, but I'm worried about his injuries. And so is probably the manager.

It's a shame tbh, I thought highly of him but if you're injured enough at a young age you probably will never reach the level you would have reached otherwise.

Neither Da Silva can play 90mins. I don't think either is the answer. There are a few wingbacks in the youth team who are apparently talented.

I dunno what's going on with Fabio. Must've pissed in SAF's coffee or something, he wasn't great last night nor against West Brom.

I think he's good enough, doesn't make the rash tackles Rafael does but has no positional discipline.

Assou-Ekotto is pretty good. People are finally starting to see the light RE him, although the blunder last week against Wigan won't help.

denial has even got him as his gravatar, and he used to hate him.

Need to do transfers tonight as out of the country first thing tomorrow. Is the below madness for an 8 pointer?!

    Smalling -> Tierney
    Moses -> Nani
    Sessengon -> Ramires
    Rooney -> Adebayor

Sess and Moses need to go. I guess alternatively I could just swap them for Ramires and Bradley Johnson (or anyone up to 4.8?)

I don't think Moses needs to go. He has some pretty good fixtures coming up. I'd suggest doing a straight swap of Sessegnon to Nani, and Rooney to Adebayor.

Agbonlahor is on a bit of a purple patch, but I'd back Adebayor to do better over the season. Depends largely on your finances.

Can afford either. Although obv. Agbon would free up finances for elsewhere. Looking at getting either of these two for a good 10games+ run etc. Think Ade holds sway at the mo, but just...

After this week Ade has a top run of fixtures till mid January. Agbon only four of next five then a tough run.

I went for the 'Hor in GW 5 and since then both he and Ade have jumped 0.4. I'd really like them both but with Rooney and Aguero on fire it's hard to justify dropping one to accommodate the pair. My solution is to keep the 'Hor and spend the extra cash getting VDV in as Spurs cover - he's playing 2nd striker and will prob either score from Ade's assist or provide assist for Ade. As the others said, Spurs have nice fixtures coming up after the N. London derby....

Laughable as it may seem, it was serious!

Spurs are a far better side with two up top (compare goals for, points, league pos. etc) last year with vdV against the year previous in a 4-4-2 and it's clear to see. And I think Harry realises that, just about, but we'll see. I wouldn't be surprised to see vdV start...

I reckon VDV will play whether Defoe plays or not. Redknapp will play him 2nd striker or in a mid of Modric, Parker, Bale and VDV IMO.

Need a cheap Defender in order to be able to afford VDV. Any suggestions? Already have Simpson.

              Either sell:

              A) Kompany and get new fella for 4.7

              or

              B) Smalling and new fella 4.2

So what are people thinking on Dzeko now? With Tevez out of the picture is it most likely that Balotelli will start up front with Aguero?

I want to get rid, but my options are limited for now. Ideally ill swap him for most likely Suarez in 2 weeks to catch his good 3 fixtures before a move to Hernandez for Utds nice run.

Well, he may be benched this week, but is the only sub striker, so will play some part I suppose, Then also going forwards he is unlikely to be rotated as much now, and is only 8.5 mil.
Im keeping him for now. More worried by his form than his benching

Only seen bits and pieces of him for Inter, so not hugely knowledgeable myself. I know he is highly rated but suffered a bit through injuries and a dip in confidence, he is (I think) the Italian U21 captain so he must have some quality.

I have high hopes for him, but it might take a bit for him to get used to the Premiership.

Because of many reasons. Ryan Taylor is not a left back. He has been found out time and again and we've been a little lucky in not being punished.

Yeah, he's a bit of an unknown quantity, from what I saw of him he looks mainly right footed but plays at left back. He didn't look too brilliant to be honest but it's hard to tell. I'd prefer to still have Enrique but those pesky scousers won't leave our players alone!

I'd take 35p for that useless article, remember a few seasons ago we tried to give him away for free to Ispwich (I think) and they sent him back cos he was so crap, then he somehow got a new 4 year contract! He's better than Kuqi anyway I suppose

Currently have Arteta, Rooney, Dzeko (also have Young and Silva). I have two free transfers. Stick with what I've got, or long term swap to...

    a) Arteta, Aguero, Suarez

    b) Mata, Van Persie, Agbonlahor

    c) Mata, Rooney, Agbonlahor

Possibly not. The only real essentials in midfield thus far seem to be Nani and Silva.

I'd say that you don't need to spend the full 8.0m, there's plenty of value out there which will give you funds to strength elsewhere. I'm personally sitting on Jarivs at the moment who has some pretty handy fixtures. That said, Bale or perhaps Dempsey look about as good as it gets at that price.

Stick with Silva since he's scoring consistently, no point in transfering out a performing player just for the sake of it. I like the front 6 apart from that, I still think RVP is pretty necessary though

Regarding City's weekend lineup and everybody wondering Ballo or Dzeko the real answer is neither will start. It will be 4 5 1 like last year. And it means City won't be that good offensively perhaps.

    The lineup BTW:
    Hart
    Richards, KOmpany, Lescott, Kolarov
    -----Barry, De JOng -------
    --------Toure-------------
    Silva -----------Nasri
    -------Aguero---------

I am not sure about the back line but regarding the front line I believe I am right.

I think Sunderland are way too inconsistent. Newcastle have been solid so far this season. Brown wasn't great against Norwich. I suppose a flip of a coin on that one. I fancy west brom to score.

I'm sure I can't be the only person facing the prospect of having no Rooney or Dzeko points this week. The obvious choice is to swap Dzeko to Adebayor but with the Tevez saga surely Dzeko is likely to be in line for more game time in the coming weeks.

Definitely going to hold onto Rooney but what to do about strikers this week eludes me. My other is Suarez and derby games anything can happen.

    Help.

It depends whether Super Mario plays this week and how well he does compared to how well Dzeko is doing at the moment??
It is worth changing him for now, as dzeko isnt on great form as it is anyway....

I done the dzeko to adebayor transfer last week and glad I did. I think adebayor will get more points

Is Aguero likely to rise today? He's currently at 57.7% on Total FPL, so I'm not really sure... Should I just do Rooney -> Aguero today to be safe, or wait until tomorrow to hear more news about Rooney?

I THINK that he will fall tonight. He's at about 90% on ctc and tfpl but drops have been a bit unpredictable this year.

Just brought Arteta in for Walcott.

        Kind of a sideways move.
But I avoid a fall, and I get more money.

Is McAuley the new bargain defender? WIth Tamas's injury and I think Olson is a doubt to, he could play games in the next 5 and there are nice fixtures there especially at home. Its Hodghson after all.

I've heard that he played quite a good game the previous weekend. Anybody has more info on him:?

I'm not sure Roy's got his defence sorted this year as he had at the end of last season, or anything else for that matter. I would want to see

Why not, for 4.0 you mostly get defenders from poorer teams than WBA. I'll have a look at him when I finally sell De Laet

    Which is the better transfer:

Dzeko –> Sturridge (0.1 in bank)
    or
Dzeko –> Di Santo (1.0 in bank)

I’m using this to fund an upgrade of De Leat –> Kompany

I’d also like to swap Nasri –> Mata but should I take a 4pt hit or wait a week? I don’t have any other Man City coverage but I don’t think I can afford Silva or Aguero and they’re the only ones I’m interested in.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
