Manchester City have tonight released a statement on their official website announcing the suspension of Carlos Tevez with immediate effect.

The ban is thought to last a fortnight and reads in full:

Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice for a maximum period of two weeks.

The player’s suspension is pending a full review into his alleged conduct during Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich.

The player will not be considered for selection or take part in training whilst the review is under way.

Clearly, the club’s owners are lending their full support behind Roberto Mancini after last night’s debacle in the Allianz Arena, where Tevez refused to participate in the game as a second half substitute.

As we reported last night, a visibly shaken and emotional Mancini emerged after the 2-0 defeat and upon speaking to reporters made his feeling crystal clear:

“If I have my way he will be out of the club. He’s finished with me…

For me it’s a bad situation. In a game like this it’s important for a player to help the team. This is impossible.â€

Tonight’s statement certainly confirms Tevez will take no part in the weekend match at Blackburn but with a two week international break to follow, the club will likely have the matter resolved before the players return to domestic matters ahead of the home match with Aston Villa in gameweek eight.

The Fantasy prospects of Mario Balotelli will be boosted by the news- the Italian is likely to start at Ewood Park after Edin Dzeko’s strop and if the club subsequently stand by Mancini’s decision to do without the services of Tevez in the long-term, Balotelli -and, ironically Dzeko- look likely to earn more starts than previously anticipated, alongside Mancini’s star forward Sergio Aguero.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Senderos -> Riise for a 4 point hit?

Was planning on doing it during the break with my WC. But Senderos looks likely to fall again before that.. Question is if Riise will get a cleanie/assist to make up for the 4 points?

Riise has been taking most of Fulham's shooting-range FKs (Foster made a great save to deny him at the weekend) so could be "due a goal" (so to speak...)

He's certainly more nailed on then Senderos, who I now think is behind Hangeland, Hughes, Baird and (probably) Grygera in the pecking order for CB.

Is he worth £6.0m or a four point hit though??? Probably not, better options (Kompany (MCT), Santos (ARS) etc) for that price elsewere...

Fair enough. I realized that I was misreading their NTI's (first time try) so there is no rush now.

And I like Riise to score/get cleanies with less rotation than Bosingwa (and cheaper). Mostly just the cheaper.. Maybe I should just go for Bosi and give O'hara the axe? I need this WC next week!

Need a cheap Defender in order to be able to afford VDV. Any suggestions? Already have Simpson.

    Either sell:

    A) Kompany and get new fella for 4.7

    or

    B) Smalling and new fella 4.2

    Thoughts….

So I'm a Rooney gambler this week.

    Vorm (Krul)
Smalling, Enrique, R Taylor (De Laet, Dann)
    Silva, Modric, Nani, Ramsey (Dyer)
    Rooney, Suarez, Adebayor

I need more in defence really but the only logical transfer would be to take out Rooney for RVP after this game week and ride the goal train so to speak.

    What do you think?

    Given (Vorm)

    Bosingwa Enrique Brown Smalling (Simpson)

    Jarvis Sessegnon Nasri Moses (Ferguson)

    Suarez Aguerro (Rooney)

Should i drop Moses and play 5 at the back?
Also have 1free transfer with 1.3 in bank? Maybe Nasri-Nani/Young??

    Hello, late nighters.

I'm pretty sure I'll get rid of Rooney, but will leave it 'til late Fri/Sat. I don't think we'll get any more indications from SAF either way, but my gut feeling is he won't play.

With that in mind and with my WC forthcoming after GW11, I will give you some options I'm considering this week....thoughts, as always are greatly appreciated!

    (1) Rooney out Drogba in (giving me no ManU cover and doubling up Drogba and Mata)
    (2) Rooney out Aguero in (giving me no ManU cover and doublng up on Aguero and Silva)
    (3) Rooney out, Brunt out ; Sturridge in, Nani in (4pts)

    Thanks

Thanks all. I'm leaning towards Aguero using a free transfer. No united coverage is very nerve racking but could be justified with their 2 fixtures after int. break.
The Norwich home fixture is being pumped up on here as a mega points fest but it's football and sometimes these things do't work out that way...maybe 1 or 2 nil??

3 for me. You need the manU cover. Have you considered Berbatov or Hernandez for Rooney?? Chico will play if fit, and if we remember last year - Berba has a habit of doing bugger all for ages and then bagging a hatrick+ - could be this w/e...

But then I don't much about any of them. Conundrum but I seem to be stacking my front 8 so need to find value at the rear end.

I'd avoid (1). Drogs just coming back and I don't think a late goal against Swansea counts for much.

Have you considered Welbeck? He's in good form and that would give you enough cash to upgrade Brunt to a top mid. For a 4 pt hit you could get Welbeck and Nani/Young.

If that doesn't appeal, go for (3)!

He missed the last game through illness. Martin Jol said this earlier today:

"Bobby started training again on Tuesday but he's not 100% yet so it's better that he's ready for our next game against Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.

"The Medical team thought it would be a very good idea to load him with some extra sessions instead of playing over here"

Maaaaaaaasive fitness issues with Zamora. He's currently being nursed though an ankle problem and it's a lottery whether he plays. FFC have even been benching/resting him in Europe to try and keep him fit.

However, IF he plays... it's a good move - certainly not mad. Fulham have played decently lately but the goals just haven't come. Could be about to change, in which case BoZam might rinse up...

The watchlist says aguero may be rested.
    How likely is this?
Given Tevez 2 week ban i thought they'd needed him
or was the watchlist posted before the suspension was announced?

I can't see Aguero being rested, as I think Dzeko will be dropped for his hussy fit on Tuesday, Aguero and Balotelli up front is my guess.

I traded him out last night to avoid price drops/rises. I did:

I'm doing ok at 270k so I need to be cautious. Took a points hit last week taking Dzeko out so it worked but I don't really want to take one this weekend, especially when my team all have decent games on paper.

I've had to take another hit this weekend. I wanted Walcott out, Rooney is injured, there's a lot of uncertainty over Dzeko. But once I get the trades over and done with, I think my team will be well set up from about GW9.

Yeah, best thing I did was change my defence and get Enrique, Kompany and Bosingwa, means most week I get consistent solid returns from them which does help overall.

Just go with the form players, either Silva or Aguero are essential for me.
