While the departure of Cesc Fabregas and the arrival of fellow Spaniard Mikel Arteta at the Emirates triggered a burst of interest in the former Everton man, recent weeks have seen Arteta somewhat overshadowed in Arsenal’s midfield. Arsene Wenger has put his faith in Aaron Ramsey to fill the void left by Jack Wilshere’s ankle injury and the Welshman has flourished. Recent returns have piqued the interest of Fantasy managers and Ramsey is now blinking on the radar as a new source of coverage within an Arsenal side facing up to a run of favourable opponents.

In this latest Members article, we use our Opta data to examine Ramsey’s progress in recent weeks, assess his performances in relation to Arteta, and explore his overall potential within the mid-price Fantasy bracket.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Are we going to here any news on Rooney tomorrow or is Fergie going to give nothing away. Also is Aguero going to go up in price tonight?

      didnt fergie say “were expecting one or two back for the weekend”

      and rooney said on twitter that he should be ready for tuesday night last weekend.

      So I think the injury isnt too bad and that fergie wanted to rest him for a week.
      However he wont get captain ill give it to aguero

    Selection headache for the minor members of the team .. bit of a toss-up

    1. Barton (ful) vs Cabaye (wol) - leaning towards Barton seems more of an attacking threat plus set pieces i think, though Wolves form is a bit shit at the moment so maybe Cabaye??

    2. Brown (WBA) vs Ward (NEW) - leaning towards Brown, toss-up this one what with both defences being a bit shit at the moment but I think I'd rather be home to WBA than Newcastle right now..

    Okay...I'm sort of stuck between these two teams..
    Also, I need to get back in my H2H League because of my 4 consecutive losses...

    A.
    Given (Vorm)
    Kompany Bosingwa Simpson (Ward, De Laet)
    Nani Silva Mata Jarvis (Ferguson-free up cash)
    Adebayor Agbonlahor Aguero

    I have 1.6 left in bank and I'm taking a 4 pt. hit by doing:
    Rooney-->Agbonlahor
    Arteta-->Nani
    Suarez-->Aguero

    B.
    Given (Vorm)
    Kompany Bosingwa Simpson (Ward, De Laet)
    Silva Nani Arteta Jarvis (Ferguson-free up cash)
    Adebayor Suarez Aguero

    I'm not taking any hit and have 0.5 in bank
    I did..Rooney-->Aguero
    Mata-->Nani

    Thoughts????

            Yeah... thats what the flags are for, so you can transfer injured/suspended players out. Of course you have situations like Rooney's last week, but it's the rare occasion that you have no heads up. I would suggest that if you're relying on your third sub you are doing it wrong.

              I'd have him as a short-term measure if I was planning to WC in GW7 or GW11, and had no other rotation risks, but certainly over the winter you can expect to need your 3rd sub.

              Perfectly viable tactic. Many must agree as he has had a price rise without playing.
              Unfortunately it has become fashionable to slate anyone who posts a team with ferguson. Its a bit sad really.

      Sorry, this was meant to go here 🙂
      So its Mata and Agbonlahor or Arteta and Suarez.

      As it happens I have Arteta and Agbonlahor in my team but Arteta aint gonna be there too much longer if he doesnt deliver, I was thinking to swap him for Ramsey even before reading the above Article.

      I dont like Mata this season cos i think he’s way overpriced in a struggling team. He may come good if he can play with Lampard but Chelsea are a bit all over the place at the moment and AVB doesnt seem to know his best team yet.

      Take your pick from Suarez and Agbonlahor (they’re both playing well) but Arteta and Mata are no’s for me.
      I’d go for VDV (as a long term option) anyday
      He’s on pens free kicks and corners and has an extra game coming up sometime as well….

        He's lost more than 5% ownership which means about 70000 teams have dropped him. Considering a gain of 100,000 saw his value go up .2 than losing 70000 would surely justify a drop..... ahem

      First Che isn't a struggling team. They draw at Stoke just like Utd and Liv lost there. One loss from Utd with first 2 offside goals and another draw against Valencia thank u Kalou for that.

      Utd have drawn against Stoke too and against Basel and Benfica.

      So the 8:2 game is confusing u and in that game only the Wenger children were playing.

        Second: Gabby is a decent pick, but playing for destructive manager, and I am dissapinted from Suarez, seems that he is always in the chances but he never finishes. That isn't lack of luck IMO, just he is not finished product having in mind converting chances ala Roonster, Chicharito, Bent

        They're grinding out results and are playing nowhere near as well as they can.
        I like Mata, i think he's a good player but 9.5 in this game, no way!
        He hasnt adjusted to the PL yet in my opinion and until he does and Chelsea start to play better then Silva, Nani, Young and VDV are far better options...

        Haha, I definitely fall into that cetegory 🙂 I usually get it right in the end and win my mini leagues though.

        I'd be mad to drop Mata against Bolton. Will keep a beady eye on his performance though.

        i am thinking quite a lot and have until now been thinking mata and any other chelsea attacking players away from my team as I struggle to see any consistent route to attacking points in the team. Goals and assists seem to come from random and everywhere, which is good for the team, but not for fantasy points

            I never actually had him. Thought all of last week that I was going to bring him in, but then decided to do Walcott > Mata instead, and play Brown. Could have still got Enrique in for a point hit, but decided against it.

              I'd have done the hit just so i didn't have a 5under1nd defender at the moment, but then i don't think rationally when it comes to transfers.

      If Rooney is out, I'd say it's worth it - seems to be the year of the big strikers, so to be playing 4-5-1 or 5-4-1 is a bad idea. Dzeko looks like he'll be benched, and I think Walcott is still doubtful (?), so having £30m+ on your bench isn't good.

      Nani could easliy make you back the 8 points on his own.

      For what it is worht, I never do early transfers, but I had two freebies this week and was worried about Roons and having no ManU cover if he doesn't play. Also, had no $ in the bank, so possible price rises would kill me. So, I transferred out:

      Roons (brought in Adebaby)
      Sinclair (brought in Nani)

      My front 7 for this weekend are:

      Silva Nani Petrov Arteta

      RvP Adebaby Suarez

      If I had waited, i would not have had the funds to make the moves. But, I have spent all week fretting as to whether Roons will appear.

      I think there are lots of people gambing on Roons this week. Some will win; some will lose.

      We won't know for sure until his wife tweets something.

    Hiya lads, who's captaining Aguero this weekend?

    In two minds with this choice, blackburn are gonna be fighting for their lives on a city team taken to school by munich (and possibly fatigued i dont know)

    but blackburn being blackburn could get toasted by city.

    argh!!! what's anyone's ideas???? Help appreciated

      depends on your alternatives. blackburn aren't bayern munich.. and man city haven't turned into a shite team overnight.

      personally, I'm struggling between aguero or nani.. might just flip a coin on friday night. or captain rooney on the off chance and vc one of the other two.

          enrique - jones - simpson

          nasri - meireles - mata - young

          aguero - van persie - best

          best to captain aguero you reckon yeah? 🙂

        Yeah thats true, as said in the scout, mancini will be enter the blackburn game with no trepidation, they havn't turned awful, they just were unfortunate against a good bayern side i gues.

        i think im going to go aguero, i have young also mate, but just feel like he's not gonna start giving out points again until after the international break, not for any reason mind, he well could do, just a gut feeling and nothing else 🙂
