This week’s episode of the FFS podcast features some classic match-ups – Nani vs Young, Narni vs Nanny, Tomayto vs Tomahto, Sessegnon v Row Z, Common Sense vs Mark.

All battles are resolved, with the regular stalwarts of the ScoutCast thrown in, culminating with Mark’s desperate defence of his seemingly unshakable faith in Victor Moses. Also, look out for a mention of my Champions League placing – England’s number one for 24 hours no less.

Grab the goodness here…

Did I mention I was England’s number one in the Champions League game? (edit – I see Mark has been busy editing my post)

    a) Rooney > Aguero
    b) Dzeko > Welbeck (1 week punt, back to Dzeko next GW)
    c) Work out a 4 point hit to get Nani in

I know the price rises/falls tend not to happen until 4-6am ish, but does anyone know if there is a cut-off time for the transfers in&out (eg midnight) that they use? Just wondering...

The fact is city effectively have one less striker now with Carlos persona non grata.

Mario is a forward that plays the channels mostly rather than a centre-forward. im comfortable with dzeko in my squad. if they buy in jan i will re-think. until then i still think hes a bargain at 8.5

yeah, last year at this point I was around 100K, and at the end of the season I was sad that I had such a bad start :/
I think things will improve soon though, but i guess it's pretty much safe to say that last season's highs are unachievable already 🙁

Do i need to get Aguero in no matter what? I have Kompany and Silva at the moment and Rooney from United. If Rooney is confirmed out tomorrow i can either get Aguero in or Nani/Young in. Seeing as i will have zero United coverage after selling Rooney, isn't Nani the safer option for me? And just pray BIG Chris can keep Aguero is check.

    Thinking about doing Sessegnon/Rooney -->Nani/Adebayor

Hi SD. I think many in the same boat. I, too have Kompany and Silva. If Rooney is confirmed out by SAF, I'll go with Aguerro, also leaving me with zero Utd coverage.
I'd wait till tommoro. If you can get Nani/Young without a hit do that...but only if you have Silva for City cover.
If you don't have Silva then do Rooney to Aguerro.
      But wait til tommoro IMO

I can't get Nani unless I take a 4pt hit (and also shift out Mata or Silva, which I'm not prepared to do atm)
I can get Aguerro for a free swap for Rooney.

I made the exact same trade for a 4 point hit. Rooney/Sess to Ade/Nani(c). I don't like taking hits, but after watching the Sunderland match last GW I wanted Sess out of my team for good, he was dreadful (and now might be benched) and I wanted certain Manu cover.

Seriously though, read the whole article. The group that did this is the consulting group for major news outlets for predicting presidential outcomes, that's how significant the odds of this happening were. Apparently the chance of a long-shot like the rays and a sure-bet like the red sox reversing roles were 1 in 237 million.

Rays chance of playoffs as of one month ago: .3%
Red Sox chance of not making playoffs as of of one month ago: .3%

        You can't make that up.

I think, he's a NZ who is a Japanese resident, not sure about citizenship. Same for Leitch on the Japanese Rugby team. There's one or two others on the team from non-Japan countries.

Thinking about the kind of skills you need to win a season of FPL - Research, analysis of data, decision making, planning, organisation, committment.

If you came first in the world one year would it be ridiculous to put it on your CV?

I think I might mention it......

I think it'll be tight between Mata, Suarez and Silva this week. I'd maybe edge towards Suarez personally but then i feel it could be a boom or bust GW with Luis. Hatrick or a red card.... maybe both!

Mata would be last out of them 3 for me but like i said. Tough call this week. I'll probably be going with which ever United player i bring in. SAF declaring Rooney fit tomorrow would be good too, teach all those early traders a lesson when he bangs in a hatrick 😉

I reckon so. Sturridge hasn't done enough in my opinion. I have a feeling Anelka will score well and was going to get him but rumours of Dzeko starting has complicated that plan.

Yeah same but it's just a gut feeling. He assists aswell as scores and there aren't many other options around the 9 mark. Playing against a former club aswell, he usually does well. But as i said, i'll probably just stick with Dzeko now.

lol he's playing against a former club every other week isn't he? 🙂

Yep if Dzeko has kissed and made up it is sensible to stick with him. He could easily get a goal or 2 against our sieve like defence

Aguero//Nani in my opinion, just due to the fact it always seems gabby never scores more then one goal and averages 5 points or so a match.
Whereas Nani and Aguero have more potential for bigger point hauling.

Cheers guys, will consider it. Not making a decision till any news (or lack of!) on Rooney.

There will be other easy games when you can get in ManU coverage, its nothing to cry about at the moment, Man city have a simple game as long as u have them covered.
Along with this, it seems ManU have got harder fixtures after this Norwich game.

I hear you mate. I am going to the Norwich game, having two players in it may make it more exciting lol!

Nasri -> Silva for a 4pt hit? It has to be done sometime right?

You will cry if Nasri does better this weekend ha. I think its worth it tho Silva is a better player.

Yeah, i think i'll give Nasri one more chance. He doesn't seem to have an important role at City though.

When you get the chance, i would change him but see how Nasri gets on for a bit.

Maybe not this week, but soon

More importantly, stop promoting Old Spice

Start endorsing the timeless fragrances of Hai Karate or Brut

My mum loved the Brut. I wouldn't be here otherwise.

I hate doing trades like that with a free transfer never mind for a 4 point hit. I suppose it will definitely be worth it over the long term but i'd find it hard to swallow. Can't it wait till you wildcard? You used one yet?

I used it already. I wouldn't mind keeping Nasri if i was sure he'd play. Blackburn away is the sort of match where he'd do well, no offense 😉
