All is forgiven after Edin Dzeko apologises to Roberto Mancini following his Tuesday strop in Munich. Charles N’Zogbia reveals his left wing frustration, while Kenny Dalglish is cautious on the fitness of his skipper with Everton in mind. Elsewhere, Stoke, Spurs and Fulham all grabbed wins in Europe for a good side for the Premier League in last night’s Europa League group matches:

Edin Dzeko has been forgiven by Roberto Mancini after his touchline tantrum in the Allianz Arena. The Carlos Tevez saga has undoubtedly overshadowed the Bosnian’s own show of petulance, with the City boss claiming post-match that Dzeko would be benched for this weekend’s trip to Blackburn. Dzeko has since apologised for the incident but whether he will stay in the starting lineup perhaps remains doubtful for this game- Mancini may want to take a strong stance over this and starting Dzeko could be perceived as backing down.

Harry Redknapp gave run outs to the likes of Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko and both were amongst the goals in Spurs’ 3-1 Europa League win over Shamrock Rovers last night. Aaron Lennon was also included but was subbed off at half time after his ongoing groin problem flared up and the winger will be assessed today ahead of Sunday’s game with Arsenal.

With Bobby Zamora and Moussa Dembele both left behind in London, Andrew Johnson made his mark as Fulham won 2-0 in Odense. Johnson has now scored six goals in nine Europa League appearances and Martin Jol admitted the forward may feature in his thinking for the weekend home game with QPR.

He hasn’t done it in the league but sometimes you have to give him the opportunities too. I’m 100% certain that if I start Andy he won’t let anyone down.

Tony Pulis fielded a near-full strength team for Stoke’s 2-1 home win over Besiktas. The Stoke boss saw Peter Crouch grab a goal for the second home game in a row and was full of praise for the former Spurs striker post-match:

His contribution to the cause so far has been fantastic. Apart from his influence up front, a major part of his game was the way he defended set plays. The crowd like him and will enjoy him. He never stopped working. His attitude was fantastic.

Kenny Dalglish has hinted he’s quite happy to continue easing Steven Gerrard back into match action. With the small matter of a game against Everton next up on the agenda tomorrow, Dalglish is determined not to be swayed by sentiment, with his skipper likely to make do with a place on the bench:

The Merseyside derby isn’t the most important thing – Steven Gerrard is. We will manage him as best we can, and that has always been our attitude.

Charles N’Zogbia has been speaking of his poor start to the season at Aston Villa. The winger-so often a strong Fantasy prospect over the last couple of season- reckons he’s being played in the wrong position by new boss Alex McLeish:

The last two seasons for me were great. I was playing on the right side, where I’m really confident, but now I’m playing more on the left. If you want to get the most of me, I can do more from the right. I can kill any left-back.

But I have to accept what the manager wants from me and do my best. I can be an exciting player – if you play me in the right position.

I need some advice, I need a 4.2 defender and was thinking of Gabbidon since I already have De Leat, Vorm(instead of N Taylor) and Simpson. I know he is injured right now but is he a starter once fit?

This Rooney saga certainly makes me tense, as I rarely make an early transfer. However, I did Sess+Roon to Nani+Ade. I knew that this might happen, but I justified it by thinking the second two would score more points over the season and RVP has better fixtures in the near future (could have done him instead).

If he would have just missed the Norwich game than this would have been a relaxing weekend with a good team 🙁

It's a real tough choice between Rooney and Aguero for Capt this week. I've currently got Rooney on it but am having doubts approximately every 3 minutes.

You just need to make another transfer, press wildcard and you won't lose any points. You can also keep on making transfers until Saturday's 11.30am deadline with no points hits.

I am gonna keep Dzeko one more week. I want Aguero for him but can't afford it this week. I am gonna sit tight and there isn't room for Ade in my lineup ATM. Rooney, Aguero, Suarez are better bets IMO, Will see how Suarez will show himself in the nice upcoming fixtures.

Next week I don't need 2 Utd players so Young out for Ramsey and Dzeko - Aguero both free.

We must have in mind Dzeko's motivation for this game, even if he comes from the bench and we know how silly this BP are these days. If he scores from the bench that's 2 BP's min., He will want to show that he is still good and his first PL goal was against Bla too.

Tot cover on the other hand - DVD - now we are speaking!!!

Yay with bells on. Dzeko is still probably going to start on the bench despite his apology and Ade is in a rich vein of form right now and set to face a very leaky Arse defense.

Wish I had the cash to afford Ade- have to settle with Agbonlahor as my 3rd striker

    Given (Vorm)

    Bos, Kompany, Berra, N.Taylor (Simpson)

Dyer, Nani, Silva (Moses, M.Petrov) - subs have gd fixtures after gw7)

    Suarez, adebayor, Rooney (c)

0.3 mil in bank (yes my team value is crap)

plan to do rooney -> rvp for GW's 8 & 9 provided rvp doesn't get injured during internationals..

or is it worth just picking rvp for GW7 and hoping rooney doesnt run riot?!

I didn't have rooney before wc'ing so losing cash not an issue.

after a poor start I've only made a couple of 0.1m, did try and replace a mid for mata but then it destroyed my defence so was trying to get a balance.

For me I'd want Agureo in there. I would also have two 4.0 defenders and two 4.0 keepers who rotate well. You will have to play one of Moses and Dyer each week which isnt the best.

Just my opinion and I'm doing rubbish!

looking at fixtures after this week

petrov has: wig SUN swa STK wba; and
moses has: BOL new FUL wol BLA

I would be happy playing both of them in all these fixtures.

Appreciate your point but suarez and ade allow me to save a bit of cash and both have good fixtures coming up - this is making my head hurt...

Reading a lot of the comments people seem to be consdering Rooney as captain this week. Is he fit and ready to play?

Seems to be quite a lot of people playing dyer this week. I've just brought him in my team but more to free up funds than to expect points, or am I not doing him justice?

he did well in his last home game. I agree at 4.5 it was a free of funds player for me as well but also knowing that his fixtures are decent for the next while and you can slot him in now and again. This week I'm palying him over petrov for example.

I suspect everyone who has him was attracted by the price tag in the same way you were. He's not a reliable source of points but at home to a (probably) tired Stoke team he has a better chance than in most other weeks.

Cool, thanks for advice guys. Currently playing r.taylor ahead of him as I think wolves-mags will be low scoring. May yet switch....still undecided but guess dyer at home to tired stoke is as good a time as any. I just feel taylor is due an assist or goal soon

It is looking distinctly likely that Sessegnon is facing a weekend on the bench, so I'm eventually giving him the boot. With exactly 6.3, I'm surprised there are so many options, but which is best?:

    Ramsey (already own Arteta)
    Duff (good fixtures)
    Cabaye/Ben Arfa
    Barton/Faurlin
    Brunt

    Any others?

Rooney being fit is GOOD news and BAD news for me.
BAD news - changed Rooney to Aguero at the start of the week.
GOOD news- i have the money and a tranfer to change back. I jsut desperately need to know i f he is gonna play

Not worth the change back. Aguerro could do just as well vs Blackburn as they have conceded 3 a game, and have even more injuries.
      Rooney could still be out?

I always listen long and hard to all advice on this site. Just like at the satrt of the season everyone was saying Utds fixtures were not good and you should stay away from Rooney untill after Arseanl.

I think a lot of people on here had Rooney at the start of the season, myself included.

Yeah, it's one thing taking advice on board and using it ... it's quite another asking a question and knee-jerking to change back before anyone had replied !! I'm not having a go, I quite enjoy it ... #justsaying

I think I am gonna sit tight this GW and will have 2 frees after the internationals. Simple as that I can't find a player that I want for this GW. I want Aguero badly but I don't have the cash for Ramsey, I will need to make a punt in Bannan. Faurlin, Petrov which I am not quite confident in. I think WBA has good away record against Sun, which are in bad form and even its time for Brunt to produce. Considering even putting him in the first lineup instead of Walcott/ Dzeko. The team is, I appreciate comments.

    GIven (Vorm)
    Bos, Saylor, Taylor (Swa),
    Walcott, Young, Silva, Dyer
    Rooney (c), Dzeko, Suarez

    subs : Brunt, Simpson, Briggs
