Juan Mata’s assist gave us the merest whiff of a win in Gameweek 6, but with the Spaniard failing to add to his goal tally in the 4-1 win over Swansea, we took the loss on the chin and moved on.

We fancy our chances of bettering Paddy Power this time around though – with nailed-on Fantasy forces Nani and Sergio Aguero in the mix, along with some leftfield options from Scott Sinclair and John Arne Riise, plus a tempting little accumulator on the big scoring strikers. Paddy has set up some individual markets around this week’s top Fantasy picks, let’s see what kind of hand they’ve dealt us.

Nani is just irresistible right now and, even though Wayne Rooney will likely be on the pitch while the Norwich rabbit wanders into the Old Traffford headlights, we still fancy the Portuguese trickster to take centre stage. Understandably, his regular goal odds are short but, Paddy are happy to tempt us with some longer odds for some Fantasy combos – you can get 5/1 on Nani earning a goal and an assist, with the same price available for a goal from outside the box. While they’re very decent offers, we’ll take the shorter odds of 4/1 on a Nani goal and United clean sheet double act – we’ll gladly stake £3 of our tenner on that one.

While Rooney has been attending early fittings of the golden boot – Sergio Aguero also fancies trying it on for size. The Argentinian is just a single goal behind the United man in the race for leading scorer and, with a trip to Ewood Park beckoning, he’s got to fancy his chances. Again the odds on Ageuro being on the scoresheet are understandably short, but Paddy has cooked up some alternatives to your straight first or anytime goal bets. You can get 9/2 on two or more Aguero goals, but we prefer the 6/1 odds on a goal in each half – throwing a couple of quid Paddy’s way on that.

Scott Sinclair brought us our first Flutter win of the season a few Gameweeks back so he’s a player we hold close to our hearts around these parts. With Stoke at the Liberty Stadium this weekend, we’ve revisited our favourite Chelsea reject to get prices on further goal exploits. While Paddy is offering 21/10 on an anytime goal, with 11/2 to score a free-kick of penalty, we particularly like the odds of 9/1 on a Sinclair assist coupled with a Swansea clean sheet. A bit of a punt, but we have faith in Sinclair as our lucky charm.

Fulham’s John Arne Riise is our final single player market and, while he’s let us down in the Flutter before now, we’re willing to give him another chance to bring in some profit as Fulham face QPR at the Cottage. Again, we could go for the shorter odds here with Paddy pushing 12/5 on a Fulham clean sheet and Riise to avoid a booking. There’s also 7/2 on a Riise assist, but we’re going to go with the healthy odds of 14/1 on Riise to score from outside the box. He who dares.

To round things up and to soak up our final couple of quid, we’ve got our usual accumulator bet. This gameweek we’re putting our eggs firmly in the basket marked “Heavy Hitters” – backing one or more goals for Aguero, Luis Suarez and Robin Van Persie. Paddy have priced this market at 14/1 – worth a shout with all three strikers carrying form into their respective matches.

Derby hero Money Back Special!

Paddy have focused on this weekend’s derby matches for not just one, but three, money back specials.

In the Everton vs Liverpool clash at Goodison, if Luis Suarez OR Marouane Fellaini score the last goal, Paddy will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Similarly, in the West London derby at the Cottage, should DJ Campbell or Bobby Zamora score the last goal, Paddy will give you your money back on all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match.

Finally, at White Hart Lane, if Emmanuel Adebayor scores, Paddy Power will again refund all losing 1st /last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast singles on the match. That’s got to be worth a sniff.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to this betting lark and new to Paddy Power then you can take up any of these odds and offers and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up via this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

I think the question really is, do they actually need to rest anyone, seeing as there is an international break?

I'm expecting their strongest line-up, including Nani, Young, Chicarito, Rooney (unfortunately, as I transferred Rooney out)

I'm starting to get really nervous about my decision to transfer Rooney out when I thought he was injured!

    How's this looking for tomorrow?

    Given, (Vorm)

    Bosingwa, Brown, Kompany, Simpson, (Enrique)

    Young(c), Silva, Arteta, (Petrov, N.Dyer)

    Aguero(v), Suarez, Adebayor

Worried about Young's minutes, but can't bring myself to transfer him out for Nani, as this would cost 4 points, and Young could just as easily score big

I love option #1. Getting Aguero, who will be an absolute beast/season keeper and the super cheap Ferguson to fill out the last bench spot is a great move imo + Mata, Silva, Dyer and Jarvis can hold down your midfield productively for the time being. Kun alone should outscore Arteta, Odem, Best and The Yak combined this year. Yeah, I said it...and I'm a ManU fan! (IH8CraigGardner: You'd also have the same front line as I do in FPL if you transferred in Aguero 😉

I'm thinking that Suarez might see red tomorrow. The Everton/Liverpool fixture is always fairly tough and I think the odd time he gets a bit carried away by that (although he could turn around and back 2 or 3 goals while in that mood). Just looking at the stats on Total FPL

"There have been 19 red cards in this fixture, more than in any other match up in Premier League history, 10 of those coming in the last 13 meetings

    · Incidentally referee for the match, Martin Atkinson, has given out more red cards than any other ref in recent times, having sent off 14 players since the start of 2010/11"

Seems like we could have a sending off or two.

Have Moses in my team, and he’s depreciating in value, so I need to ship him… but who to get in? Have 0.9 in the bank, so I can afford up to 5.8 if need be.

Already have Silva, Sinclair, Mata, Arteta.

So who to bring in for Moses? Tiote, maybe? Just don’t feel like I’d play him… more of a bench warmer. Any ideas? (Not to mention I have Long to upgrade still… somehow… argh.)

same boat.. im keeping moses tho!
Need a mid up to 5.5

Im thinking between Bannan (nice fixtures, goal & assist in last 2 games but bent will be back on Pens) or Ben Arfa ( Class player, nice fixtures but will he get game time as last week was his first PL game this season, albeit 16mins)

I have him and keeping him. OK so he's done shit so far but for 4.9 he is still value IMO

I don't disagree that he has value as a player, but I'm concerned with his value decreasing, honestly. If he's just going to warm my bench, seems I'd be better off switching him to someone not losing value, right?

I don't worry too much about losing value if i am planning to keep him anyway. Also a bench warmer can very soon become a team player with a couple of injuries.

You've kept him for this long, keep him one more week. Allows you to get a better idea of Bannan's reliability and the likelihood of Ben Arfa getting a full game in the near future.

Just feels good to have Moses out. Left me with:

            Given/Vorm
            Bosingwa/Brown/Kompany/DeLaet/Simpson
            Mata/Arteta/Silva/Sinclair/Tiote
            Rooney/Suarez/Agbonlahor

Pretty happy with that right now, though ideally I'd have Taylor in for DeLaet, I think.

Just can't decide between Roon or Nani for captain myself. Do you have Nani aswell and still 100% backing Rooney or do you not have the decision to make?

Anyone else? What's the general consensus folks?

Normally would say Rooney but with the issues this week then probably Nani this time. Fortunately (or more likely unfortunately) i dont have that decsion to make.

Thats my gut feeling also I think. Still a little worried that Rooney won't get the full 90mins either. Surely he'll start but with Hernandez fit and Wellbeck looking lively mid week there has to be a fair chance Fergie might only give Rooney 60mins maybe? Nani more likely to get 90.

Just a bit scared Nani ends up with an assist and Rooney goes goal crazy again!

Made the mistake of gettting mata in last week and now restricted in who i can get in.Should i stick with rvp and dzeko or get in rooney & ade for a 4pt hit?

Just feel i need one of the leading scorers: aquero, silva or rooney.

    I got this attack:

    yaya nani sinclair mata
    rvp dzeko suarez
