Okay…you might have noticed – things have changed around here.

After months and months of time, money, sweat and tears – we thought we’d roll out the new layout just to see if things held together. It’s a gamble – it may disappear before your very eyes and revert back to the old Scout. Then again, it might be here to stay.

We hope that all goes smoothly – the that the new layout settles on our servers and will provide the basis for a new era for the site. Let’s see how we go.

There is more to do (we know the Watchlist is incomplete and the poll is old). More features to roll out – particularly within the comments code. For now, we’re taking baby steps – although this is a pretty big first stride.

So then, if you stayed with us long enough to reach this ungodly hour, you get to the see the new look on the live servers – a proper first.

We hope you like.

      +1. I used to have 2-3 FFS tabs open at a time to plan transfers. Seems like this feature alone will simplify that.

    I don't like it. It is nowhere near as easy to read; so much less visible information on the front page when you first load it up. I'm in 1920x1080, and I feel sorry for anybody using a lesser vertical resolution.

      Yep, members will get a fancy sidebar widget (they already have an injuries and bans one) detailing recent changes too.

          Thanks Damo..spotting new bugs all the time but we'll iron them out. It's been a long hard grind - but the developers and designers working with us have been brilliant.

        I think the Injuries and Bans is missing the other 5 injured arsenal center backs. Good to see Squillaci is at 75% though... just get him back to health and arsenal are roses

      I think it's pretty slick, the comments page is pretty much the same except they've included the ticker which is a great feature imo

      We've made those features modular so we can drip them out one by one. When we tested we saw that each one added extra to our server load. We hope to roll them out gradually once we've settled.

    I really like the new look. A minor niggle though (also from the old site actually), the injuries and bans have doubt %, rather than the way the FPL does it with chance of playing %. I know I'm nit picking here but it would be slightly easier to make a decision on whether to play/transfer in a player by comparing the scout %'s and the FPL's %'s. I know for example a scout 75% doubt = 25% FPL chance of playing, but if the information was presented in the same way I think that would be better.

      Thanks David...this was basically my summer along with Ed our Tech Director and Sean our other developer - a shout-out also goes to Will (a site regular) who worked on the brand and initial design.

      Still more to come...this was a big step - once this has settled a bit, we're moving on with the development list.
