Sunday’s performance at old club Bolton bullets Daniel Sturridge up the new Watchlist rankings. We already had a keen eye on the winger’s weekend progress- Sturridge was on the bench for our Gameweek Seven Scout Selection Committee picks and returned our faith in his abilities with two goals, an assist and a couple of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) bonus points in the 5-1 Reebok rout.

Suspended for the first three Gameweeks due to a straight red card picked up in his loan period under Owen Coyle last season, Sturridge grabbed a goal in his first appearance of the new campaign; an impudent back-heel helped Chelsea to a 2-1 win at Sunderland before he made way on the hour mark.

The following week at Old Trafford harvested just a couple of FPL points and when a knee injury, picked up in the Carling cup win over Fulham, sidelined him for the 4-1 home win over Swansea, Sturridge had fallen slightly off the Fantasy radar. When available, though, Andre Villas-Boas has started the forward in every league game and a return to full fitness allowed him a place back on the right of the Blues front three last Sunday afternoon.

Only last week, the Chelsea boss was talking up the player, confirming he sees Sturridge as a strong contender for the wide right spot, rather than a central role:

I am not sure how Daniel’s career will evolve but I think he has natural ability to play on the right flank. He offers me a little bit of the characteristics that I had with Hulk playing in that position last season when I was at Porto. We count him at the moment as a winger and he competes for that position with the others. He might play there but for this season we don’t plan to use Daniel in the striker position.

It’s 25 FPL points from three games, then, an average of 8.3 per game; the fourth-highest ratio so far this season, behind Wayne Rooney, Bobby Zamora and Sergio Aguero. With Villas-Boas clearly full of faith in the youngster’s abilities, his game time seems promising and priced at a mere 6.5, playing in a top-three team, his Fantasy prospects clearly look enticing.

Four home games and two favourable away trips in the next six Gameweeks (EVE, qpr, ARS, bla, LIV, WOL) looks a kind run of fixtures for Villas-Boas’ side and if Sturridge can maintain the displays that have seen him pick up more Fantasy points than any other Blues forward already, he could well prove to be integral to their Premier League fortunes, as Chelsea tuck in nicely behind both Manchester clubs at the top of the table.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I'd keep Mata for a while - I would bring in Sturridge over Zamora aswell.

As for Walker and Riise - HELL NO! Neither are worth the money plus there are better, cheaper options!

The problem is my defence is shaping up for a rather shite few weeks:

        Shawcross-Simpson-Warnock-J.Enrique (shotton)

Enrique looks like the only decent option at the mo...

gw9 simpson home to wigan, warnock home to wba, enrique home to norwich - see no problem here
gw10 shawcross home to newcastle, enrique at wba - reasonable?
gw11 warnock home to norwich enrique home to swansea - both pretty good no?

      Petrov defo worth a punt
Zamora or Sturridge, you're on your own here, I cant decide either

Both seem starters when fit but AVB recently said Sturridge would play wide right for Chelsea, pushing him a 'bit' further from goal, maybe Zamora for this reason but its a tough one
Both are good picks to be honest and both will probably do well

RE: slow loading of FFS ...

I tried out 4vets' advice to speed up page loading, for Firefox users, and it's seemed to help out quite a bit. I'm running 7.0.1

Perhaps it might help out others ... here's the link:

Wow! That really worked. Thank you King Eric and 4vets.

I too am using Firefox 7 at home and that has helped make surfing the site faster. 😀

Now if only I could figure out how to get the site to load properly when I'm in work where we use IE ver.7. For some strange reason the site works relatively okay on that browser, a bit slow but you can read the articles fine UNTIL you log in.

When you log in, the homepage is fine but once you click into an article it then lists everything and the background goes white and the page reverts to a HTML style format. Terrible. I sit in work reading the articles and banter but I am unable to comment 🙁

I think your team looks great.

My initial thought would be to bank one of the freebies and perhaps change Nani for another mid with better fixtures. However it is really difficult to pick another big hitter in midfield worth bringing in.

As such I would suggest just using one transfer to do Ferguson > Bannon, Moses or Tiote.

I would really be looking at getting Suarez in after this gameweek if I were you.

Sturridge seems very good value IF he could hold his place. I wouldn't mind having him but doubt he's gonna last long term. It's a bit of a risk with Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Malouda, Mata and Lukaku there as well. A lot of forward players. There's also another spanish guy though i hear he's not very good.

Well yes he is uber good value if he can keep his place BUT I personally don't know why any manager wants to save pennies up front with the variety of options available there i.e. Aguero, Rooney, RVP, Adebayor, Suarez (all of which I would have before Sturridge).

Fully agree - I don't mind spending the dough up front. It depends if some of the midfielders start racking in the points (Nani, Silva, Young etc) I may be tempted to go cheaper up front on 1 of them. But I can see all the strikers you mentioned scoring regularly, Sturridge not really.

Thank you. I love living on my past glories 😀

But yeah it's not really worth taking a risk on a potentially massive bargain when most of the best and safest players are the expensive forwards. I just feel geting the big hitting midfielders is like settling for second best right now:
          VDV could be Adebayor
          Nani/Young could be Rooney
          Silva/Nasri could be Aguero

That said I have Silva and Mata now.

First comment on the site so be kind. Got a plan for this week, just want to know if it's worth 4 points.

Ramsey for Bale - fact unless you think i should take Sinclair out.

front line Rooney, Aggy and the other Aggy (aguero) not sure why i put that really

if Aguero is injured then Suarez is in, if Aguero plays RVP is in.

    Thoughts? Many thanks

Ramsey has good fixtures coming up and it sure to shine so there is no point spending the money to get Bale in.
Keep ur faith in Aguero, he is playing the Argentina matches, so he should be fine and i would keep your front 3 the way it is.

      I am confused by this:

"if Aguero is injured then Suarez is in, if Aguero plays RVP is in."

So who is RVP coming in for?

Also I don't mind Bale this week. Contemplate saving the transfer?

Sorry, Rooney is the player I was considering dropping I can't see him being productive in the next 3 games for his value. Agreed Bale's fixture's aren't bad but I want to work Ramsey into my team and it's Sinclair, Bale, Silva and Nani at the moment

Oh right well I would go probably change Sinclair for Ramsey for the next fixtures and would never change rooney personally cause he is a keeper whoever ManU are against. Pretty much every team this season hasn't been that great defensively (except maybe newcastle), and Rooney will always make them pay.

The rest of your team must be fine then because i'd say that getting Rooney in is hardly a priority with that front line. I may well end up getting Aguero in this week if he's fit and well for Villa. Only thing that puts me off Adebayor is the back-to-back away games coming up. You selling Hernandez then this GW?

I don't want to sell hernandez - the original plan was to keep him until after the everton game, then get rooney back in, but i'm pretty worried he won't play now. RvP is obviously a good option but Arsenal are dreadful at the moment (remember swansea at home?! and 7 points in 7 games!). I'm going to swap SWP for Ramsey next week to cover the arsenal attack.

Strong team. Personally I don't think u need another big defender, if u swap De Laet for Naylor u have the same as me and I think that's fine. Kompany and Bosingwa can play every week pretty much then u just pick the cheapie with the best fixture unless u like to play more than 3 at the back?

Anyway I would say De Laet to Naylor might be a good option for u, or maybe De Laet to Woodgate/Shawcross if u generate funds elsewhere as Stoke have nice home games coming up. Either way De Laet is a good option this week as u don't have any major issues so might as well sort that now.

I've looked long and hard at Naylor but i have Vorm and it's a bit of an issue for me. Plus i think Enrique is cracking good value. He may be considered a 'big' defender but at £5.1m i think he is a steal.

Whatever i do with my defence i think it can wait till next week. Looking at selling SWP and Rooney

Fair enough, I've never really seen the problem doubling up, cleane sheets are few and far between so if u get a team like Swansea keeping cleanies at the moment, take advantage. As a Liverpool fan I'm still not convinced were gonna keep many cleanies at the moment.

U seem like u no what u wanna do but I'd say it's looking good and De Laets your problem so I'd sort it while I had freebie if I was u.
