This evening we’ve made a change to the way the Season Ticker tool is delivered to our visitors in the sidebar. In order to improve the performance of the site, we’ve removed the Ticker from the initial load of our pages and made it available via a button in the sidebar in it’s original position.

The Ticker now loads separately and on request in your sidebar when required. Members will of course have access to the Members version of the Next Six Ticker as before.

The change was implemented specifically to improve the page load times for users of Internet Explorer versions 7 and 8 – both of which were suffering issues with the Ticker code. Users of these browsers should experience far better loading times but are still encouraged to upgrade to version 9 in order to view the site and specifically the Ticker at its best. We still have some bugs associated with the Ticker in IE but we are now working to resolve these.

All users should experience an improvement in page load time however and, by introducing this button, we are now able to keep the Ticker available on all article pages and usable by our visitors when required. This will enable us to develop the tool further, without concern for the initial page load times.

Following this change, we have further optimisations to make to the new design as we continue to tweak following the recent change over.

As always, thanks for your patience, feedback and support in helping us improve the site.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    My front 8 is currently
    Silva, Nani, Mata, Taarabt, Dyer
    RVP, Adebayor, Pelebeck

Have 1.2 in the bank. Have been quite happy with Dyer sitting on the bench every week but can afford to swap Dyer > Petrov and then bench Welbeck and swap him for Gabby/Bendtner the week after.

I'd say Welbeck> Sturridge this week and Taarabt to Ramsey/Petrov next week sounds like a plan

Still not sure, hopefully Warnock will say something later in the week. It's a great fixture but he fully deserves to be dropped and unlike the start of the season QPR can field a decent midfield without Taarabt.

I heard from a QPR fan here that he definately won't be dropped, the owner I think was saying that everyone was making too big a deal over the whole bus stop thing.
I just think he's the exact type of player that would suddenly turn around and have stormer after his antics this week and everyone on his back and Blackburn at home is the perfect game to do it.

Nothing Warnock has said has hinted at him being dropped either. And yeah it is a great fixture to bounce back. I think on balance he deserves one more week. Hope he doesn't drop though, gonna be close.

    VDV Silva SWP Ramires Dyer

    Rooney Aguero Best

if u can get ramsey for one of the 2 mids that would be enough, unless u have 2 free transfers,
best is also a triky selection as newcastle sometimes play with 1 striker and now it is likely that he will be Ba.
      the rest is excellent
(can u get agbonlahor somewhere? or sturridge for some chelsea coverage?)

If I get Abonglahor in for Best I can do:-

not so sure of the trades, swp and ramires could easily outscore ramsey and petrov, not that there's anything wrong with your 2 targets

i personally did hunt to ramsey and depending on the team updates, might keep my other freebie or get petrov in.

i'll prioritise getting rid of delaet over swapping your mids since it's a sooner or later thingy

Rooney, Sturridge, Aguero...no way am I ripping apart my mid and taking a hit to get RVP in when I can get Suarez, especialy as I have Ramsey to mop up some assists hopefully should RVP run riot.

My mid is this Nani - Silva- Ramey- Petrov-N dyer....and I'm very happy with it.

Looking at your team, I just can't figure out how you've only got four expensive players in your squad. I've seen lots of similar teams fit five. Eg they'd have the same as you but they would already have Suarez instead of sturridge. Suggests to me you've perhaps got one too many mid price players? Not sure.

post a link to your team and I'll take your comments on board. Are you seriously suggesting I ditch Sturridge? And as for two many mid price players? I've only got Petrov and Ramsey...do you really think I should ditch them. Thanks for the advice chum, but I didn't actually post here to get advice, just saying that I'd probably get Suarez in.

Marshall Foch (I think it was, can't quite remember though) made a good point the other day. The next three games are liv, MCY & eve. Now if you had to pick three games where the opposing fans would give him some abuse and really try and wind him up (and that he would become frustrated in anyway) it'll be those three games. Another silly red on the way? Possibly.

But it'll require some balls to sell him though.

You are not insane but what do you lose in waiting one more week for confirmation? No rush to get Suarez in with MU away next up. I'm expecting a dip in form from Rooney, he does seem vulnerable mentally and there is the chance that SAF will protect him in the coming weeks. If so his price will plummet and you can get him back in a few months when his mind is right again.

But, and it's a big but, it may not happen and the sellers will feel pretty sick if he gets double figures again this weekend!

Dyer is a good bencher, I had Sinclair and found myself reluctant to bench him. Anyone on penalties you want on the pitch every week. Even if you plan to play Sinclair most weeks there is probably better value out there, Ramsey, Murphy, Anderson, Bannan maybe

Johan Cabaye, in an interview published this morning: «My ankle got crushed. I don't know if it's a big sprain. It was too painful when it happened for me to continue. I'm feeling the same pain as a sprain but I hope it won't swell up too much and that it will get better very quickly.»

Very true, I think they will rest him this weekend with Villareal and United coming up. but if you had him, i'd keep the now and wait for the news.

Although this advice is contradictory as I sold him last week, but that was to jump on the Suarez rise and sell before the drop,. but if youve waited this long and wait and see what he says

I think keep, and even bench. To me, judging from everything that we have read, by far the most likely outcome of this week is that he'll be rested for this fixture, then will start the far more important, far more difficult games against Napoli and United in the following week.

As I can field 5 midfielders with good fixtures this week (Petrov, Brunt, Ramsey, Taraabt, Sinclair) then I will be benching him. You don't want to be holding up future transfers by scheduling when you're going to bring him back in. Barring furthur international injuries, I'll be keeping him and Brunt and praying that I get some points from one of them.

    hi all,

cotemplating sitting on what i have this week, what do you think?

    Given Kenny
    Boswingwa Jose Woodgate Taylor Warnock
    Dyer Nani Silva SWP Cabaye
    RVP (c) Dzeko Ade

There are a few who i'm not sold on like SWP but it looks a decent week for him, also feel i'm a decent defender light so could maybe sell Warnock. Obviously there are issues ie no Rooney or Aguerro but i'm not overly in a position to get either this week, next with two transfers would make it easier to tinker.

Petrov WIG (A) Moses BOL (H) Nani LIV (A) Silva AVL (H)

Rooney LIV (A) Adebayor NEW (A) Suarez MUN (H)

Bench: Dyer NOR (A) Taylor NOR (A) Simpson TOT (H)

This Aguero injury has placed me in a bit of a dilemma. My strikeforce at the moment is Rooney, Dzeko and Agbonlahor. My plan was to sub out Dzeko for Sturridge and put Gabby as a sub but now Dzeko looks good this week if he starts up front, so my best bet is to get rid of Gabby for Sturridge. However i really wanted Gabby for next week V west brom at home and wanted to swap Rooney for Suarez (Norwich home) with Dzeko not looking great away at United with Aguero probably back.

So basically i need to decide which strikeforce will get the most points over the next two weeks. A or B?

    A) This week: Sturridge (Everton H), Rooney (Liv A), Agbonlahor (City A)
Next Week : Sturridge (QPR A), Suarez Norwich H), Agbonlahor (WBA H)

    B) This week: Dzeko (Villa H), Rooney (Liv A) , Sturridge (Everton H)
Next week: Dzeko (United A), Suarez (Nor H), Sturridge (QPR A)
