While a recent run of results has seen Bolton plummet to the bottom of the Premier League table, an upturn in their forthcoming fixtures offers hope. Though six straight defeats have left their opening day win at QPR a distant memory, the form of Martin Petrov has been the one shining light for Owen Coyle’s side.

The Bulgarian has been an ever-present in the Trotters side to date and, playing every minute of their campaign, has already notched up 4 assists- just one less than David Silva and more than the likes of Nani. Given that we’re just approaching Gameweek eight, this is a significant step up from the form of last season, where the Bulgarian managed a total of five and is indicative of his flourishing role in Bolton’s attacking play.

A total of 32 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) points to date has seen Petrov cement his position as a viable mid-price option this term and is all the more impressive considering he’s faced five of last season’s top six from Gameweek two onwards. He’s also found the net, scoring a penalty in the absence of regular taker Kevin Davies in the 2-1 defeat by Norwich.

With a run of games that reads (wig, SUN, swa, STO, wba, EVE) kicking off as of this weekend, Petrov firmly establishes himself in our updated Watchlist rankings. His delivery from out wide- he’s third top for successful crosses this term- and set-piece duties only add to the appeal and it’s obvious that if Owen Coyle is to orchestrate a climb out of the drop zone, his left winger will be crucial to the Trotters’ fortunes.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

How do people rate the slightly more expensive keeper rotation at the moment?

Decided to double up on Villa and Stoke defense till the next WC, works pretty darn well!

Woodgate or ShawX? Woodgate is fine to rotate, not so sure about ShawX but as you will play him 4 in the next 6 it's not bad.

      What's this pairing?

Begovic I see as being worth it if paired with a 4.0 keeper.

      Sorry this is rotating:

      Given+Warnock and Begovic+ShawX

Might be a little too much to bench each week, but I see serious value in having 2 of each at home every week 🙂

How about Hennesey/Begovic Warnock/Woodgate good rotation, similar cover and saves 1.1. Might get you less point but be better value.

I've doubled and rotated on Stoke & Wolves since GW4 (or whenever I played my WC). Wolves haven't looked great lately, but they do rotate really well (even better than Stoke & Villa, imo) until the January WC, so have a glance at that one too as it's a bit cheaper.

Do you think having Ramsey in midfield could 'cover' not having RVP?

I currently own RVP, but as I'll be shipping out Aguero > Suarez (if Aguero doesn't make it), I'll want Aguero back in 2 GWs time and RVP > Aguero will be the only real way of doing so.

Arsenal will still have great overall fixtures for the considerable future, but something has to give.

    Could Nani 'cover' no Rooney?

With only 3 slots upfront, I see the likes of Suarez more important as Liverpool don't currently have any value midfielders to own instead. Spurs have VDV instead of Adebayor, Man U have Nani/Young instead of Rooney and I guess Man City also have Silva instead of Aguero.

Think Rooney is worth the extra over Young/Nani, RVP is not worth the huge difference between him and Rambo. Rather go Adebayor than VDV but that depends on your strikers. And I think both Silva and Aguero are worth having but Silva is more reliable of the two. In short:
      Ramsey, Silva, Mata/Nani/VDV/Young, Cheapie, Cheapie
Rooney Suarez Aguero/Ade (Depending on VDV and remaining budget)

rooney and rvp cannot be covered by anyone, the get goals from deliveries coming from every player on the field.
finishers like caroll bent hernandez can be covered by another teamate.
having said that i sold aguero for 11.2 right after his injury thinking that his price will drop and ill be able to get him back. fail!

      In a nutshell, I can't have:

      Rooney / Aguero / RVP

so something has to give. Rooney and Aguero both look better to own than RVP, so I'm just thinking the next thing is to move in for Ramsey.

I have Ramsey penciled in for GW11 by which time I'll have done RVP > Aguero (GW10).

Of course things may change but I know I'll have to take a 4 point hit here and there along the way.

Walcott in better form playing wise???

No chance. Ramsey has been improving this season for club and country.

Walcott is about to lose his place in the team to Oxlade Chamberlain.

I really dont know what the fuss is about with Walcott, yes he is fast but that speed is negated by his complete lack of footballing intelligence and his crossing/passing/shooting is normally way off.

Im an Arsenal fan, and if I was asked who Id rather in our team based on this seasons form, Id choose Walcott without a thought
Ramsey has been poor the last 3, go watch the games and come back to me

I have seen Walcott live enough times to know what I am talkng about.

He cant cross or pass and you think that isnt important as a winger.

                  Ahh read over my comment...
I never said crossing wasnt important for a winger, nor did I say Walcott was a good player, you are taking this completely out of context.
I said Walcott (regardless of crossing attributes/ability) has been playing better than Ramsey this year, period.
So you saying Walcott is about to lose his place was based on AOC impressing against pretty poor opposition.
We need to give him time, not chuck him in after goals against poor teams..

Your obviously not a fan of Ramsey, fair enough. Its not his fault that Nasri and Fabregas wanted to leave and win something. He now has Song (not sure what he is actually good at but he isnt a holding mid) and Arteta (the primark Fabregas) surrounding him.

You should be very worrried about your team... and Walcott is one of the reasons why.

If Van Persie decides he has had enough and City decide to splash out on him then even worse.

But, yet again, I have to repeat to you that he has been playing worse than Walcott this year.
Seems as though you have conceded that you were idiotic and didnt understand what I was saying and have tried to turn it onto Arsenals past and future, haha...alrighty then.
Im not concerned about Arsenals future, we will be back up there eventually, so I dont give a f*** what happens this year or what happened in Summer..

Dropped Rooney for Drogba last GW - turned out to be a mistake too... Was a punt worth taking at the time but now with the other two strikers under injury clouds it doesn't look so great now.

Hi guys, was all set to bench Gabby vs Citeh, as I fancied Wolves to do something at West Brom, but I'm having second thoughts now. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, being a Wolf myself!
So who would you bench? Gabby or Jarvis

Planning to get Aguero out either this week or next (although I've already used me free this week). I have £1m in the bank and am unsure whether to:

    A. Go up to Rooney
    B. Downgrade to Zamora or Sturridge, and bank ~£6m to upgrade elsewhere.

Any comments? Here's my team as it stands:

    Given - Vorm
    Kompany - Bosingwa - Brown - Simpson - NTaylor
    Nani - Silva - Ramsey - Cabaye - Dyer
    Aguero - Suarez - Adebayor

Why are so many people talking about selling Aguero?

He's started everygame for City this season, is a cracking player and actually appears to be converting that into fantasy points, has 8 goals, 2 assists and 10 boni and all roudn appears to be THE man to have from City.

And yet people want to sell him because he might be out for one week. Its just utter madness

It has certainly been more knee-jerky on here than previous seasons and it's hard not to get caught up in it sometimes. I think I've got twitchy about the crazy price rises and the thought of not being able to afford players unless you jump on them quick. Hopefully it'll calm down.

B*llocks. Could be looking at RVP as lone striker this GW.

Surely Ade will get some minutes. If the game was at home, I'd say 'Arry would almost certainly start him. Not so sure with it being away.

Buying a player who will never play was always going to be a bad idea, in truth. Your team will, at some point(s), require all of your subs to be used. Plus as he's £4M, there's no one else who can be easily swapped for him, unless you already have money in the bank.

In my view, he's a (literally) poinless player, and a waste of £4M.
