The EA Sports PPI statistics are now available and the Fantasy Premier League bonus points have now been added to the game. Here’s a game by game breakdown of how this map out for gameweek eight…

Liverpool 1 Man United 1
Gerrard 3, Welbeck 2, Hernandez 1

Few surprises here – we predicted the 2 for Javier Hernandez but won’t begrudge Danny Welbeck a single bonus point for his display and assist on United’s equaliser. Steven Gerrard’s maximum was a foregone conclusion here given his goal and contribution to the Liverpool display.

Chelsea 3 Everton 1
Terry 3, Sturridge 2, Lampard 1

John Terry, always a strong scorer in the EA PPI, not surprisingly comes out on top, having also got on the scoresheet in the 3-1 win. As we predicted, Daniel Sturridge and Frank Lampard also reaped reward for their goal and assist contributions respectively.

Wigan 1 Bolton 3
Eagles 3, K Davies 2, Diame 1

Chris Eagles was our top ICT Index performer of the week and was also top of the EA PPI rankings. Three bonus points will follow for the Bolton man but, while we predicted returns for Nigel Reo-Coker and David Ngog, it was Kevin Davies (despite his penalty miss) and Wigan’s Mohamed Diame who earned higher PPI totals.

QPR 1 Blackburn 1
Samba 3, Helguson 2, Lowe 1

Although honours were even at Loftus Road, our prediction based on our ICT figures fared well, with Blackburn’s Chris Samba picking up a strong EA PPI total – the third highest in the gameweek. QPR’s scorer Heidar Helguson ranked second in this match, with Blackburn’s Jason Lowe set for a single bonus point for his PPI tally.

Man City 4 Aston Villa 1
Balotelli 3, Johnson 2, Kompany 1

Mario Balotelli earned the top PPI total in this match for his acrobatic opener, with Adam Johnson’s goal and assist earning the winger number two spot. Vincent Kompany demonstrated his newfound threat from set-pieces by claiming a goal- enough to earn him the single bonus point.

Norwich City 3 Swansea 1
Pilkington 3, Martin 2, Barnett 1

With a brace of goals, Anthony Pilkington was amongst the top ICT and EA PPI performers this weekend and it’s no surprise to see him claim the three bonus from this one. We predicted Russell Martin for a strong PPI, but didn’t see Leon Barnett’s single bonus point coming – he continues to score heavily in EA PPI terms and remains a bonus darling as a result. He just edged out our prediction for the remaining bonus – Bradley Johnson.

Stoke 2 Fulham 0
Walters 3, Delap 2, Etherington 1

As expected, Jon Walters collected the top EA PPI score from this home win, with Rory Delap ranking second and Matt Etherington, with two assists, coming in third. Andy Wilkinson was Stoke’s top defensive performer, sharing a PPI score with both Jermaine Pennant and Asmir Begovic.

West Brom 2 Wolves 0
Brunt 3, Foster & Reid 2

Chris Brunt picks up his first bonus points of the season with a top ranking EA PPI display in the local derby victory for the Baggies. Ben Foster was the top rated keeper in both the ICT Index and EA PPI rankings and, subsequently, he fetched the two bonus here; while we predicted Peter Odemwingie for the single bonus, it turns out that Steven Reid collected an identical PPI to Foster and will share two bonus points. Billy Jones came in next on the PPI rankings but was denied a bonus by that share.

Arsenal 2 Sunderland 1
Van Persie 3, Koscielny 2, Larsson 1

Robin Van Persie was amongst the top five PPI performers in the gameweek and dominated this match to collect the inevitable maximum bonus. Few would have seen Laurent Koscielny’s PPI score of 22 coming however; that’s going to earn him two bonus points with Sunderland’s scorer, Seb Larsson, picking up a single bonus as expected.

Newcastle 2 Tottenham 2
Ba & Taylor & Van der Vaart 3

We’ve a share at the top of the PPI rankings in this match with both Demba Ba and Rafael Van der Vaart set to earn 3 bonus points for their 22 point totals. Jonas Gutierrez has to make do with a single bonus for his display then, although the PPI scores from this match are still under review with the assist for Shola Ameobi’s goal seemingly awarded to Yohan Cabaye rather than Ryan Taylor.

*Edit* As indicated, this match was reviewed and, with the award of the assist to Ryan Taylor, he tied with Ba and Van der Vaart at the top of the PPI. The three bonus points were therefore shared between all three players.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I remember that, on Friday, I was considering to play two of Vorm or Krul and N.Taylor or Simpson.

    It nicely ended up that Vorm (2) , Krul (2) , N.Taylor (1) , and Simpson (1).

Regardless of the selection, you ended up 3 points.

I'm noticing people are getting shut of Young but it's worth noting that his home form is still 11 ppg for the season and United have 3 home games in their next 5 games with a nice lengthy run from GW11.

It is City but fancy Young to do well next weekend.

I'm reluctant to get shut just yet.

Fair play but you must admit he has been fairly anonymous for United lately. Even when he bagged a goal against Basel, he didn't play well.

I wonder if any Villa fans can confirm whether this type of streaky form is to be expected?

He hasn't been brilliant, but one of his selling points is that he doesn't necessarily have to be, as long as he plays and stays high up the pitch and takes a few dead balls he could score as well as someone playing well 🙂

As Lemar famously sang, 'If there's any justice in the world only Rooney and Nani are allowed to score in that game this weekend. Aguero and Silva will do nothing, if there's any justice in the world.' Something like that anyway.

    Morning All,

Had a poor week. Really appreciate some advice for next gameweek. Team currently with 0.9 in bank-

    Given (Vorn)
    Enrique Bosingwa Simpson (Kompany DeLaet)
    Ramsey Silva Petrov Nani (Ferguson)
    Rooney Adebayor Suarez

I know Ferguson needs sorting out will be wildcarding in the next couple of weeks. Should I get rid of Rooney? obvious replacment RVP. Silly based on Uniteds forthcoming kind run of fixtures? Alternatively I could drop him for Sturridge and introduce VDV or Mata in place of Ferguson. However im not sure who I would drop from my midfield over the forthcoming fixtures as Ramsey and Petrov really dont justify the bench. Open to suggestions on what do anywhere in my team really, appreciate your feedback, cheers.

With the exception of Ferguson you have a perfectly good team in my opinion, and even then like you say you can play both Petrov and Ramsey every week for the next 5 or so, and you've got a strong 4th defender to cover the bench. Bad weeks happen to everyone, that team should do fine, my priority would be DeLaet out at this point as you can easily do that with one transfer - someone like Boyata perhaps, or N Taylor etc..

It`s a good side. Rooney to RVP is a tough one. I`d say yes, at least for next week but Rooney could bang in a couple against any oponent so a tough one.

Maybe just change De Laet to someone who plays but if you`re going to wildcard I don`t suppose it matters too much,

Really lost as to what to do with my team! going backwards in my mini leagues and have only picked up 1 bonus point in the last 2 weeks! This week was probably a new low...very few (c) options and ended up with Suarez's 2 points! Would really love some advice if anyone's got a second:
    Given Ruddy
    Kompany Enrique Boswingwa N.Taylor Simpson
    Mata Petrov Arteta Dyer Moses
    Suarez Rooney Aguero
    Have still got my WC....

Hindsight said Aguero to RVP last week but you never went that way. Players like Arteta aren't going to get RVP points.

yeah i know...pretty gutted about not getting RvP...but i couldnt afford without a hit and wasnt sure who to downgrade (Arteta is now the obvious option!)
Do you think i should just forget about it and stick with my 3 big hitters up front? Seems counter-intuative to bin Arteta now (esp for hit) as Ars have STK next

You have a lot of money in your forwards, which is affecting your midfield badly.
Arteta & Moses need to go.
I would look at downgrading Rooney to someone like Sturridge and upgrading your mids.
Obvious candidates in miedfield are VDV (Tottenham coverage) and Nasri/Silva ( after the derby) and /or Nani to give you Man U coverage after the everton game.
Your defence and keepers are good.

so that's the concensus on the best frontline for GW9

    Suarez - Sturridge- RVP?

If I get enough saying that then I'm swapping Rooney for RVP later this week, as already have Nani for any Man Utd goal action.

Hi Jonty, i have RVP,Drogba and Adebayor.

Not sure who to go for when i ship Drogba out....Sturridge or Suarez.

I can't bring myself to ditch RVP, and Ade is a stayer playing Blacburn.....really stuck on this 🙁

as a sturridge owner as well, I also agree with Fratboy that he is also an excellent choice. Over the next three weeks I have a feeling Suarez may shade it pts wise. But hard to argue with Sturridge's value. He is the bent from two seasons ago in terms of goal value.

currently have Suarez-sturridge and Rooney, but RVP's fixture this week is better and i don't want Rooney for the everton game week 10 (check his poor history against his former side).

so plan is Rooney to RVp this week, then RVP to Aguero the following week. sounds like a good plan to me.

Hi guys in a right mess here,

    Vorm Hart
    Boss BAE Collocinni Berra Shawcross
    Nani Silva Murphy Dyer Tcyhoi
    Sturridge Hernandez Suarez

The defense has a million or so to much invested in it, i need to finally ship Tychoi and feel having no RVP is goona hurt big.

I do have two free goes and at the minute i'm not overly sure what to do with Hernandez, do i lose him for Ade? the other free i'll be getting rid of Tychoi and i may make one more transfer

      Swap Hart for Given

Use that for Hernandez to Aguero and spend the other .8 or whatever to change Tcyhoi to Brunt or someone else more reliable....

OK, Not started doing my weekly number crunching yet, but going off stats as of last week I'm thinking of 1-2 transfers:

    Draft team so far:
    Krul (Vorm)
    Simpson Ward Bosingwa
    Silva Young Taarabt VDV
    Sturridge RVP Best

    Bank: 3.9

    A: Taarabt > Petrov
    B: Best > Suarez
    C: Both for a hit

I'm just not sure how I'll fit Aguero in, for GW10, unless I waited and got Aguero in for GW13 (for Suarez).

I agree. Stoke the game after a Euro clash and away are dire. They are really going for Europe and rotating defenders well, but not so much up top. I see Arsenal winning by a couple of goals.

If it was Stoke hosting Arsenal there's no way I'd consider RVP.

Maybe. I remember at the start of the season some people mentioning that there is a definite shift in the fixtures from GW11 onwards - particularly with Man Utd's getting easier. If you still have your WC it might be a good time to use it, regardless of how happy you are with your team at the moment. Some on here may have bookmarked it - I'll have a quick look.

Hello fellow FF managers. First post so go easy..

Team this week was as follows:

    Vorm
    Smalling/J.Enrique/Boswinga/R.Taylor
    Mata / Brunt / Dyer / Silva
    Sturridge / Van Persie (C)

Subs: Krul / Anderson / De Laet / Aguero
    (2.2mil in the bank)

    - Not sure whether to ditch Aguero for some Man Utd/Liverpool attacking cover!?!?

Got Aguero the week the little ratbag got injured. Any advice pointers would be much appreciated....
