Back after our own international break, I bundle Mark into the studio for another podcast and slap him around the face with my Wildcard.

Rusty after a week of absence, we’re forced to get our tongues contorted around a variety of team names, even more baffling than Mark’s unshakable faith in Victor Moses. Yes, indeed, Wigan’s most unfortunate Fantasy flop gets another airing, with Mark mercilessly banishing the Latics to the Championship – surely the only solution to his blind spot.

I'd go RVP for now and if in a few weeks it hasn't worked out you can switch to the cheaper Aguero.

Ward definitely with the latest price update. I left my 'transfers' screen up and he was £4.8m on it. No big deal though for those who bought him at £4.5m as his selling price will still be £4.6m

    Morning all

Any chance of some quick advice?

    My team is as follows:

    Given (vorm)

    Simpson, ward, bosingwa, (Kompany, gabbidon)

    Silva, petrov, young, dyer (Moses)

    RVP, Rooney, adebayor

I am thinking of the following:

    A. Do nothing save transfer
    B. Rooney to Suarez
    C. Kompany to Enrique, then bosingwa to Kompany next week

    Thoughts please?

I wouldnt do Suarez for Rooney at all. Rooney is fixture proof and I'm not convinced Suarez will reap the rich bounty everyone is expecting from him over the next 3 games

Also has a tendency to sulk, dissent to the ref and whinge at his teammates when things are not going his way.

Rooney, in the same set of circumstances, rolls his sleeves up and works hard for his team.

Rooney really is a model of composure isn't he!

My experience of Suarez is completely different, i have always found him completely committed, always chasing after the ball, getting into good positions etc.. People may not like some things about him but they can't question his commitment.

I don't agree with this. I think both Rooney and Suarez are very hard working players who are also loose cannons. They might kick someone down or bite someone, but in my experience they also work much more than the average striker.

moses to petrov for a 4pt hit (freebies used for rooney and arteta -> suarez and VDV)
bearing in mind a v potential wc after gw 11 to bring back rooney, meaning petrov has 3 weeks to earn his 4 pts!

i expect petrov to do quite well vs Sunderland, so i think you could do the point hit and get returns. Sayin that I took a point hit last week to bring him in, he did feck all, my alternative was to play warnock which so far has been my biggest mistake this season.

ouch, i feel ur pain! then again it's purely anecdotal, i mean, of all ppl, warnock to score against man city??

proof that luck plays a significant part in this game, especially in the short term

i was contemplating the petrov move last wk .. gotta believe that we'll eventually come good if we keep up our logical decisions =)

Ramires I'm pretty sure is out for this weekend so maybe after...he has looked way more threatening...As for the Rooney to Suarez move...Unless it's tactical I can't see why you would want to...I know Utd have some tricky games coming up but he is, as they say, "fixture proof"...

i think its gonna be a failrly charged match, ramsey to break Shawcross leg? Gotta remember as well Stoke have stifled the play on the big teams: chelsea(draw), liverpool(won), man u (draw). I think this will force Arteta to play a bit deeper, he seems to slightly favour this compared to Ramsey which I dont think bodes well

I'm going with Silva & benching Sinclair. Silva is a strong contender for player of the season so far. Utterly fixtureproof. Sinclair does better home than away, or at least Swansea do. Personally I'd bench Petrov or Cabaye from that lot.

Morning All...Haven't been around for a while so may have missed some chatter about this but could y'all throw your thoughts against my wall here...

Had figured on getting in Petrov for SWP...but Walters is now on my radar. It could be a "dead" move getting Walters in this weekend...I could go on and on about why Petrov would work better than Walters and vice-versa...so I'm open to suggestions here...which would you pick as:

    1. Long term
    2. For this weekend

(Basically two answers or a solid one)

    Thanks

I had the same decision and went Petrov. If you don't mind playing Walters against Arsenal then go for it but if you get a player in bench them and then they get injured it would be a huge waste of a transfer. Also bare in mind Petrov may have picked up penos from Davies and personally I'd go Petrov. Is SWP set to drop soon? If not could do it after the weekends games?

The thing is we, Arsenal, can concede to anyone, but it really is ANYONE. Not necessarily the obvious goalscorer.

        Yakubu? Check!
        Walker? Check!
        Tiote? Check!

Thanks for the feedback...to be fair I had Petrov nailed down for the spot but Walters always seems to sneak a goal or something...and as Teddy mentioned, the Gunners are brittle at times and if anyone was going to sneak something in there it would be Walters right? Stoke away does bother me slightly as their record suggests to wait on the move...

HM, HB, HP...I tried the coin...but you know how that works...did I call head for Petrov or Walters...and was that to buy or not to buy...haha...you catch my drift?

The only other factor to add is that I have tried Petrov before...think last season...and got nothing for him...have never tried Walters...not that this theory helps with anything...but I am clutching at straws on this one...(Oh why did I think of Walters...stupid brain / thought processor...grrrr)

Hey Hey! I got Begovic so defense is ok...(Note: May try get rid of Ward at some point...)...

The Gw10-15 thing is exactly what I'm touching on...Petrov has possibly a better game this weekend than Stoke do...(least compared to the Stoke game you would think so...)...so whoever I get in I would like to have for a while maybe...Getting Petrov and then switching to Walters after would seem silly maybe...So I would preferably like to buy one and keep them.

Obviously if I (or anyone else feels) that Walters will most likely be the better option then I will get him now and see what happens...but as I said...Petrov was number one to get...So what now?

Good idea? I can certainly see Man City scoring and Newcastle look more likely for a clean sheet...anybody else dropping United or City players?

Currently trying to hold of getting anyone else in this week myself, that banked FT would be useful. Hoping RVP and VDV can continue form as they are my main differentials, which I think I need right now to claw up the ladder.

Simpson's place is now a concern. I reckon Pardew's a pretty no-nonsense guy though so I don't think he'll pay much attention to what sounds like posturing by Simpson or could just be paper talk.

Probably bench Dyer, Moses in that order. I'm playing Sinclair and Simpson (third defender) and benching Moses, Kompany and De Laet.

Dunno what to do with my team this GW

    Given | Ruddy
Bos | Kompany | Simpson (Brown) (De Laet)
Nani | Silva | Sinclair | Ramsey (Moses)
    Aguero | Suarez | Adebayor

Only 0.2 in the bank which limits my options (would love to get RVP in for Aguero if I could)

    1. Keep the transfer
    2. Shift De Laet out for N.Taylor or Barnett
    3. Transfer Kompany out for Enrique for short term

    Any suggestions welcomed

De Laet out is something you will be looking to do at some point. Might be worth doing this week and not playing Kompany. However, I think the best 4.0 is Wilkinson and he hasn't got a great fixture this week either.

Intending on benching Kompany on the basis Man Utd will score?
Anyone else pondering on such a wild action?

Daniel is right, it's hardly "wild" benching a defender for the hardest fixture in the league, especially when some of you back up defenders will have good fixtures.

Morning all, this is my first time posting here, I'm looking for some advice pls.

    Begovic / Ruddy

Bosingwa, Enrique, S Taylor, Boyata, Shawcross
    Silva, Nani, Ramsey, Dyer, Ferguson
    RVP, Rooney, Adebayor

Just changed gabiddon, r taylor to enrique and boyata, therefore have already a 4 point hit.

Am thinking about changing RVP---> Sturridge & dyer---> VDV. Have wanted VDV since 3 weeks ago lol. That would mean -12 points hahaha
    Am i nuts?

Why the hell would you get rid of R.Taylor when he has Wigan at home?
      Especially for a hit 😐

        Thanks for the replies!
Oh I needed to swap him to get funds for enrique(I figured he'll probably get a CS too) before the price rise. Wanted gabbidon out too because of their terrible run of fixtures.
I guess i'll think about the other swaps next week then haha.
Btw does anyone know if there any requirements to join the FPL league?

He gets into decent attacking positions and should be worth a goal/assist or two over the course of the season. He`s cheap and Bolton have decent fixtures coming up.

VDV is the shid! I would be tempted as well, he is my vice captain behind lampard.

I would time your transfers. Keep RVP this week, he is on fire at home, 4 goals in two home games.

If you really want vdv I would give Silva the boot this week, I dont think he will perform this week, plus with Mancini with his eye on the Champions league, he might not get a lot of game time.

Was all set to get rid of O'Hara this week for Petrov and now the Scoutcast is making me wonder. Mind you the "he's due" argument hasn't worked for me with Moses...... Also will be playing Vorm in goal, so have a reason to not want O'Hara to do well.

For you experts out there, seek some advice for my team this GW.

    Current team is:

    Krul, Vorm
Bosingwa, Warnock, STaylor, Ward, De Laet
    Nasri, Petrov, Walcott, Brunt, NDyer
    RVP, Rooney, Sturridge

Have 1 transfer and 1.8M in the bank. I'm tempted by doing Rooney to Suarez for the upcoming 3 weeks but would like to have some Spurs cover as well. Your suggestions please? Cheers to all

I wouldn't call them transfers sexy at all..

But Rooney is still the best FPL player..and I dont even have him
