Coming down from the highs of cheering captain Luis Suarez in person to a magnificent two point tally will be hard to do, but, this Sunday, the Dugout Discussion has come good with all sorts of tasty fixtures that will soon cleanse any palette…

There are three early kick-offs at 1:30pm today as we keep track of some top ties – the Manchester derby chief amongst them. All the following line-ups are sourced from the Premier League (@premierleague).

Fergie has named the same back-line as which drew at Liverpool while recalling Anderson, Nani and Wayne Rooney to his starting line-up. Roberto Mancini has kept the faith with Mario Balotelli while he can also call on a fit again Sergio Aguero. Teams in full are…

United XI: De Gea, Evra, Ferdinand, Evans, Smalling, Fletcher, Anderson, Nani, Young, Rooney, Welbeck.

City XI: Hart, Richards, Clichy, Lescott, Kompany, Milner, Barry, Yaya Toure, Silva, Aguero, Balotelli.

Arsene Wenger said he’ll have to rest Robin Van Persie eventually – he has now. Opting instead for the brute force of Marouanne Chamakh against Stoke. Captain Ryan Shawcross will likely find himself up against Aaron Ramsey at some point today. Teams in full are…

Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Mertesacker, Santos, Koscielny, Djourou, Arteta, Song, Walcott, Ramsey, Gervinho, Chamakh.

Stoke XI: Begovic, Shawcross, Wilkinson, Upson, Whelan, Etherington, Wilson, Delap, Whitehead, Crouch, Walters.

Fulham make a widespread amount of changes from their midweek European team while David Moyes gives loan signing Royston Drenthe his first start as well as super sub Apostolos Vellios. Teams in full are…

Fulham XI: Schwarzer, Baird, Riise, Hangeland, Grygera, Murphy, Sidwell, Dempsey. Dembele, Johnson, Zamora.

Everton XI: Howard, Distin, Baines, Hibbert, Jagielka, Neville, Fellaini, Rodwell, Osman, Drenthe, Vellios.

As these games either enter the dying embers or reach a heady climax the fourth game of the day will kick off as Harry Redknapp tries to keep on pressing up the table with a trip to Ewood Park. QPR playing host to Chelsea will then round out the gameweek on all good television screens.

A whole host of opportunities today with a wide array of fixtures and top teams to savour in the Dugout Discussion. Here’s hoping the stars can live up to their billing.

Might finally suck it up and get Silva in for Nani this week. Absolutely immense performance from him.

Sad that for him his fantasy returns don't come close to reflecting his quality on the pitch.

Nice thing next Sat is United play at midday. Therefore before the 11.30am deadline, we will be able to see if Nani starts at Everton. If he does, I'm going to give him another week. United are often never more dangerous than after a defeat. Chance too of Silva being rested at home to Wolves, with the UCL 3 days later?

Have to question the massive lack of quality man u have in center midfield, completely dominated again today, just like last weekend. Fletcher and anderson arent fit to shine David Silvas boots!

I was saying it pre season, United didn't need more wingers. We needed a strong centre. Should have pushed for Sneijder. Ever since Cleverly got injured we have lacked any kind of attacking potency.

Well anderson isnt. £18m for a defensive midfield when he was meant to be a dynamic central midfielder who could drive past defenders. I remember the hype when we first got him.

+100000 Agreed, UTD really, really needed snjeder, Their lack of creativity is astonishing, although in fletcher's defence he's there to tackle not rip defences apart. Anderson is improving but is nowhere near ready to be a first teamer(neither is cleverly). David silva's boots are made of gold, while all of united centre mids are made of lead.(I'm a utd fan, really needed to vent)

      +1

7/4 on Utd to win the title is good value, though - already played City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs, those odds are only going to get worse with the fixtures we've got in the next 10 or so weeks.

zomg. what a day. and i captained gerrard.

I didn't think i was too terrible at this fpl lark, but if my season wasn't over already it definitely is now.
decided on rvp over rooney at the start of the season- fail.
so swapped rvp for rooney- fail.
made myself NOT swap back rvp for 4 pt hit, didn't want to do another knee-jerk trade - fail.
desperately wanted vdv but decided to settle for bale, FAIL.

every captain choice i've made this season apart from bent one week - EPIC FAIL.

On the bright side.... nope, I got nothing.

So out of desperation for any points anytime soon, can anyone tell me who had assists in the citeh and arsenal games? obviously cannot check fpl.

glad how things turned out on the fantasy end (even though brown with 8pts is warming his ass on the bench). also glad that rvp was the angel on duty today.
I was always going to be playing any utd/city attacking player i would have had. This match had goals written over it. The silva one was coming (at least an assist)
The 6-1 humiliation is gonna hit utd hard. But as long as its a match full of good goals, it's hard to remain pissed. fletcher's was a beauty. And yup, silva is a masterclass.
City vs Barca/Madrid is gonna be fun.

Hang on to Suarez for those two games if you must, then downgrade to a 6.5-7.5 striker that you can then rotate over the season depending on fixtures while holding Rooney/RVP, and use the spare funds to boost the midfield

interesting. i have 1ft this week with 1.2 in the bank. So i am not planning all 3 transfers. just what i need. so mata->vdv can be an independent transfer. but odem to suarez will not happen without me downgrading(if u can call it that) mertesacker to boyota.
So if you could suggest a cheap striker, now it would be great.

no, I'm not saying that, obviously. But it does put it into some context that I think Bayern are a SERIOUS threat to Barcelona this year; the team seems to be much better than last year (funnily enough, without Robben getting much game time)

        That's what I'm thinking.

Wondering whether a Nani > Silva straight swap would be better than doing Rooney > Sturridge and then Hoolahan > Silva, and keeping Nani.

United have some pretty tasty fixtures upcoming though as well. Don't want to knee-jerk and then regret it. I'm expecting United to bounce back.

i think you'd be very silly dropping your man u players based on this result..

Its not about dropping anyone, it's about trying to fit Silva in - someone would have to make way

It would have to be Aguero I think, too much of a rotation risk so you can never really be confident captaining him.

Really? He's started except when he was inured.

I'd feel more confident captaining him than Silva or Nani tbh.

Sorry yeah forgot he was injured against Villa, Maybe Nani then since Rooney is plenty of United cover.

      probably aguero/nani
rvp is arsenals only consistent points scorer (if he's not injured.)
man u have unbelievable run of fixtures coming and rooney will start practically every game
silva is a must have i think
aguero and nani seem to be rotation risks.

but i know nothing this year.

Missed Moses' price drop last night - livid! FISO and totalfpl had him around 80%. Guess players must drop quicker in value than they rise.

I like Walker alot, don't really like Spur's as a defensive prospect though

Im thinking both for a 4 point hit.

That's my first mistake though - thinking.

Shawx by a mile, avoid our defence when Ledley King is injured.

Tottenham's defence is quite poor, too many injuries.
